More winners from Louise Penny. Characters continue to be thoughtfully developed, plot unfolds slowly and thoughtfully. Penny is one of the finest mytery writers working today. Looking forward to the next book due in August.

This whole series is fascinating. I've read it in order since the beginning, and miss Armand and the Three Pines gang when I don't have one to read. Don't want to rush Louise Penny too much, but we really do need the next adventure!

Penny's books are intelligently written with many literary and art allusions. Her characters are exquisitely developed and you feel as if you know each one. Such complexly developed settings, plots, and characters results in masterfully created stories. I truly did not want each of them to end.

I love the Inspector Gamache books, and Louise Penny is a fine writer. What I took exception to, was her using her novel, A Beautiful Mystery, as a platform to bad mouth and malign the Catholic faith. Shame on you, Ms Penny. Personal opinion ruins a work of fiction, and should NOT be used as a soap box.

I love reading the series about Inspector Gamache. Pleasure reading that transports you into the warm and inviting little town of Three Pines... I now wish I could live there and the characters be my closest friends.

Louise Penny's books are positively addictive. I am sad every time I finish one of her novels because I just want to go on living with Armand, Reine-Marie and all of their friends and family members. Every mystery is clever and the underlying philosophy of hope is enduring. Love this author!

These books are wonderful. I love the whole series. You may sometimes, but not often, be ahead of the author on these mysteries. Locations and settings are always just a little out of the ordinary. Many characters are repeated and developed over time so it feels like revisiting old friends. Inspector Gamache is very compelling. We are always excited when there is a new Louise Penny book available.

Typical Louise Penny books. Easy reading but very engrossing. I would recommend you read the books in order though. Each book is a stand alone story but sometimes they do refer back to previous books. The type of books that are good on a rainy, cloudy day with a cup of tea. Very likable main characters. Suspenseful and logically thought out. Inspector Gamache is someone I would like to know.
