This book was very good, one of the best, although it doesn't yet surpassed darkest hour it was still a good read and very similar to the first book of the new prophecy which was cool to be reminded of the old days.
MUST READ

I had been anticipating this read for such a long time that as soon as it came out, I ordered it. When it arrived at the house, I nearly tripped over so many things rushing to read it. In "The Fourth Apprentice", Jayfeather and Lionblaze are trying to find the last cat that will have special powers like them. There is also a severe drought caused by the fact that there is no water flowing in from the stream and into the lake.
I finished this book so fast - almost too fast, if you ask me. I guess I'll just have to sit and wait until the next comes out.
Read it. You will not be disappointed!

Yet another journey but, it was alright. I really don’t know how I feel about Dovepaw but I’m happy that her power was more obvious that Hollyleaf’s. I still think that the Erin’s took Hollyleaf out of the picture because they couldn’t quite decide on what her power should be. I mean, sticking to the warrior code? Honestly, those are more like guidelines.

*WARNING: Spoiler ahead*

Anyways, I don’t think there was much growth here, the authors needed a way for Lionblaze to see that Tigerheart was training with Tigerstar for the Dark Forest plot to make headway. So, basically it was filler. I think when the plot really gets going again, it’ll be a better read.

*End Spoiler*

The classic cover is fine, still eye-catching but that new cover, wow. Makes Dovepaw seem better than she actually is in the book.

The writing was good, there wasn’t really a whole lot of emotion, though it was said when there was a certain death but it didn’t make me tear up. I still think this series is worth reading and I will continue to re-read the entire series for as long as I can.

This book was all in all enjoyable, especially seeing the friendships between the cats grow as their journey progressed. As it was the first one of the new series, it had to pick up some lose ends, so the first chapter covers that. The plot was good, all though I've see better from Erin.

~~~Spoilers~~~
As the book goes on you can kind of start to see a thing with Tigerheart and Dovepaw. Not sure where that will lead, we will see! Plus, I think it's cool they finally found beavers. I kind of wondered when they would. It's so sad about Rippletail, though.
Final thoughts
Can't wait to see what will happen with Tigerheart and Dovepaw. I love Dovepaw's powers! Definitely read!
P.S.
I hope no beavers come to the lake!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Action-packed and full of drama, I think it was an awesome start to the series! Although... I did catch an error that I think is kinda big. I'm currently re-reading Dark River ( Power Of Three #2) and Sedgekit (now Sedgewhisker) is a male, but somehow becomes a female for the rest of the series..? Just something I noticed, so other than that, 10/10! Great job,
Erin(s) and long live Warriors! :)
Wow!!!!
What I love most about Erin Hunter 's books is that she/he always finds a way to begin another series on a different cat.
Like, in the first Warrior series, Firestar was the main character, but now it's Dovepaw.
This book includes:
*a lot of humor about "two legs"
*omens and future/fortune stuff
*remarkable cats whose personalities you will fall in love with {like I did}
Highly recommended to tweens and teens!!!!
I CAN'T WAIT TO READ OMEN OF THE STARS #2!!!!!!
I loved the first seiries and liked the second. However, I could not finish "The Power of Three". It became too strange for me with Sol and Stormfur and Brook coming back to Thunderclan and whatnot. When I found that Hollyleaf kills Ashfur, and Leafpool and Crowfeather where the parents of Lionblaze, Jayfeather, and Hollyleaf, I was shocked, disapointed, and weirded out, so decieded not to read anything farther than "The New Prophecy". However, I eventualy became curious about "Omen of the Stars" and while at the library one day I decided to give it a try. I was not disapointed, like I was with "Power of three". It is absolutely spellbinding. I could hardly put it down. I was happy that Jayfeather didn't have "anger problems" anymore and that the clans weren't in danger of fighting each other every stinking five minutes. I like Dovepaw and think this seiries has a lot of promise. I eagerly await reading the next book in this fantastic seiries.
Okay, listen. I had totally fallen in love with series when I first heard about it. I read both the original series and The New Prophecy in one summer, and then every book after that.
Now I'm done.
Don't worry, Warrior fans. I'm not here to pick apart and butcher your favorite series. In reality, I thought The Fourth Apprentice was an a-okay book. I don't think that there is a such thing as a bad Warriors book. The reason I only gave the book 4 stars was because of the title (Since the book itself is called The Fourth Apprentice and Dovepaw is the fourth apprentice made in the clan, I pretty much knew from chapter 3 that she was one of the Three, and that pretty much sucked the surprise out of the story or me.). So no, I am not quiting on the series because I thought this book was bad.
My main issue is how incredibly LONG this series is becoming. First there was Warriors, then Warriors: The New Prophecy, Warriors: The Power of Three, Warriors Super Editions, manga versions, guide books, and now a whole new mini-series. It just doesn't stop! There are so many books, that I can no longer remember the specifics from early Warriors books, and trying to remember all the cats that were in each clan (plus remembering their names, their parents, siblings, mates, children, how they died, etc.) is making my head spin. I honestly can't remember all this stuff and, although the books are good, I'm done hurting my brain.
Does anyone else have the same issues? I don't know, maybe it's just me. Maybe I'm just overreacting.
Huh.
Anywho, this was a good book. Don't let me stop you Warrior fans from enjoying it. This is Kindle Obsession, signing off.
The other reviewers were right, the Omen series appears to be a return to form for the series. Rather than spinning long irrelevant exposition or focusing on the mundane day to day of clan life like TPoT did, this book actually stays focused on the smooth plot, character drama, and tense conflict that made this series great in the first place.
It would have been nice to get more overarhing-plot development, but this definietly isn't a bad way to start a series.
hi. i am Thunderclaw of thunderclan.
I watch from starclan of what happens to the 3 cats in a prochecy called "There will be 3, kin of your kin, who hold the power of the stars in their paws"
i love how these cats are going about their journey. most of this was boring for their small adventure. i feel this has something to do with the dark forest.
