This is an imaginative yarn, but poorly edited. Usage errors horse/hoarse lay/lie, word choice (medieval feel is destroyed by modern colloquialisms), a plot with holes (the kingdom is in danger but you send warriors off to deadly training for months)--all of these are distracting. The second and third books seem especially thin. That said, there are sights not to be missed--like the curtain of rain. This review is for the Kindle edition.

The first book was a 'freeby' which has addicted me to Morgan Rice and needing to read more! I was Instantly drawn to the main character, a likeable kid with, as it turns out, a secret. I so then had to read the next books, and they do not disappoint. I can see this as a TV series (in the right hands). Definitely getting the next books in bundles, I can get my fixes quicker that way!

The series is bad. Please save your money for something else. I don't know who wrote the other reviews giving these books 4 and 5 stars, but they must have been reading something other than this series. The plot moves at an unbelievable pace and the author has no clue about developing the characters or the atmosphere. Avoid!
A Realm of Shadows (Kings and Sorcerers-Book 5) :: A March of Kings (Book #2 in the Sorcerer's Ring) :: Queen (of Crowns and Glory--Book 1) :: 6) (The Sorcerer's Ring Collection Book 2) - Bundle of The Sorcerer's Ring (Books 4 :: Rise of the Valiant (Kings and Sorcerers--Book 2)

Buying this series was a big mistake. While the premise of the ring land etc has promise, the chronological development of the story was jarringly beyond belief - so much happens in the first week that the mind is jerked out of the story at each new event. Added to the the abysmal editing (I mean "site" for seeing, really?). Given all of the glowing five star reviews, one has to wonder at how so many people could so blatantly deceive others into buying this rubbish - from now on I only be looking at the 2 and 1 star reviews before deciding to buy.

The first three books of the Sorcerers Ring captured me on the series by Morgan Rice. Her ability to weave a tale of fantasy is exceptional. I was just as entwined with her characters, Gwen and Thorgrin as I was with Rowling characters in the Harry Potter series.

The story line is good but the sentence structures and verbiage is geared toward elementary age children - not young adults as advertised. I had bought the whole set before reading the first book, otherwise I probably would not have gotten past book 2.

Although I did get caught up with wanting to know the story, I found the editing to be really bad. There were typos and grammar and spelling errors, which may be a result of the digital version I was reading. The story was disappointingly predictable at times, although if I consider that this book is aimed at younger readers, then this is appropriate. I like the characters though.

There are a lot of references to future connections in the story but I think the story drags too much with these references. Things should develope on their own without a "hook" to keep the reader interested.

This book series really keeps you wanting more from sentence to sentence. Enjoy each character, they are developed so very well. I got the bundles because I don't want to wait for the next book. I read much longer in bed than I intend to and have to force myself to put it down. Thank you for making it available as you have, the store.

I like the story, and the characters. The book could have used an editor. It seems words are misused and sometimes even Characters names are wrong. As I said I like the story, so will probably buy the rest of the story.

Story, character development, etc. is all ok. Not bad but not great.

What they don't tell you is that this series ends with a fourth book which is NOT part of this bundle so you have to purchase it separately to read the ending.

Story wasn't compelling enough for me to I buy the fourth book.

I suppose without being overly cruel, this series is in dire need of editing; there are many glaring grammatical and spelling issues. In addition, there doesn't appear any concept, on the author's behalf, of time. Days seem to stretch to unimaginable lengths, and the accompanying plot holes quickly sink any enjoyment of the story.

Reasons I hate this product.....

1: The bundle price of $8.99 is actually more than it would have been for the individual books ($2.99 per book X 3 = $8.97).

2: The amount of editorial errors are inconceivable! I don't know how many times I've seen the word "site" used instead of "sight" and I've barely read a third of the first book. At the very least the author should have read her own book instead of trusting in spell check to catch any errors.

3: The story line is very disjointed and juvenile.

4: This does NOT compare to Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter or any of the other series some of the other reviewers have likened the series to. I'd say the writing reminds me more of Ruth Chew's fantasy books from the 70's and 80's than anything else and that's putting Ruth Chew's books in a bad light! They were much more enjoyable than this series.

In closing, do not buy this "bundle" unless you are an avid fan of Morgan Rice.

Thanks.

This is a light, easy to read teenage fantasy series. The plot is the usual theme of down trodden boy from the back of Burke meets a princess, boy becomes the hero and gets the princess. The plot is great but the characters do lack substance, can be predictable. If you want an easy escapism read with out getting into anything too heavy then this is for you.

If I could give this collection of books negative stars, I would. Badly written dross. Poor writing and poor use of language with boringly repetitive phrasing. Purchased it on a recommendation from the store- never again!

I liked the story very much. I enjoy reading books about magic. The books take me away from the reality of the world. Can pretend, for a little while at least, that everything is grand and things always work out OK. Would have given it 5 stars except some of the words were missing and the spelling was low grade.

I was reluctant to buy this bundle because the profile of the author was a bit "incompatible" with this genre. But it turned out that the characters were interesting and that the plot was unfolding smoothly (and I was always eager to read what happens next). As a piece of advice (if I may): you need to buy the 4th book, too; otherwise you will be left with too many ananswered questions. Enjoy reading everyone.

The story is entertaining, and keeps you wanting to know what is going to happen next. There are some twists and turns, and there are some spots that you know what will happen. It is a very good series, and I would recommend it to anyone for light enjoyable reading.
