Aerik is a vampire, assassin, guardian and spends his life alone taking care of bad people. He starts to hear a voice in his head of a desperate, sad, and suicidal woman who needs him. The woman, Jamie, is distressed because all of her family is dead and she is all alone. She hurts herself and is bleeding out he comes to and helps her. Aerik is sure she is his mate and he has to protect her, but she has to agree.

I loved the vampires in this story, but their mates are lame. The author spends a lot of time with the girlfriends, when they are pretty boring, have no power to even stand up to their mates. I think a little controversy for these ancient vampires would put a little extra spice in the story. It makes the story a little slow paced. I hope Ms Offen picks up her pace in book 3!

This series is the best!!! I love vampire romance books, but I'm hard to please, these books were just what I was looking for. Out of the three great couples, Zak and Kayla were my favorite. I'm just starting Living with Vampires and I know I'm in for a great read!!
Looking for so many more good books from this author!!
Soul-Mate (The Immortal Love Series Book 1) :: Blood Knot (Blood Stone Book 1) :: Here Be Sexist Vampires (The Deep In Your Veins Series Book 1) :: Scholastic Reader Level 1: I Spy a School Bus :: Reclaimed (The Fire and Ice Series Book 1)

I simply loved this book!! ?
It had just the right amount of humor, intrigue and erotica in it!! It had me laughing my head off one minute and crying the next and then have me sitting on the edge of my seat! I am so excited to read about Zak next. I hope Dare will come after that!

This was an excellent book! There was a little bit of everything written in it. Some pretty scary moments but there was humor in it too. It was a very delightful book that I would gladly recommend to everyone.

Even though I know I should, I rarely, rarely write a review. This series was so amazingly well written, I had to write it. I couldn't put it down. I'd wake up in the middle of the night and read it. I couldn't wait to get done with work every day ssh o I could read it. Worth every penny. It said there was three books in series, when is actually four. Don't miss the last one!

This book had so much potential but failed for me. First, like other reviewers I agree the word GAWD was way overused. I also had a huge problem with the H compelling the h all of the time, not to mention all of the lies he told. Could've been so much better.

This book was amazing. I was hooked from the very beginning. It had that since of mystery, romance, danger and suspense! I loved how the author used that since of "read the next page" for more details! Highly recommend this series.

I absolutely do NOT believe the books in this series can have 4 stars by legitimate means. While the premise of the books is not bad, that's all that's not bad. This is some of the worst proofing and editing I've seen in years. The author constantly reverses "then" and "than," frequently uses words she obviously doesn't understand such as confusing "hollowed" for "hallowed," and has no concept of the use of punctuation which leads to the equivalent of solving mensa level puzzles to determine the meaning of her writing. To read the books you should also be a fan of stupid terms like "gawd" and "geez crap" because her characters can't utter a sentence or have a passing thought without them. Character development is horrendous and the books drag excessively with repeated and pointless descriptions of basically nothing. The author must have needed to stretch the length so there are countless pages repeating nothing but how beautiful a character's eye are or how they were meant to be together. It passed far beyond romantic into a horrible, repetitive, waste of time. These books are so bad that even free, I cannot make myself complete the series. Three people in my book club were to read these books to determine if this would make a suitable option for next month but not one of us can even finish them.
