Not unless you want to lose your sanity. This is the most irritating nit-wit of a "heroine". The writing is very immature. I assume the heroine was dumbed down in order to generate a simple storyline. There is no romantic tension--the relationship between the hero and heroine are very contrived. The relationship between the heroine and her "nostalge" is very contrived. There is a lot of information about each character, but no real fleshing out of those characters. The author attempts to create mystery by never completely laying out backgrounds, but it's very uninformative even as the mysteries unfold.

I got a long hard chuckle when a statement was made that the heroine had grown in her power in two days where others had failed over a lifetime. Obviously no immortal had lived beyond the age of thirteen, based on where the heroine's emotional quotient appears.

Some readers with teenage daughters will SO see their child in this heroine. It felt just like I had been hurled into the brain of a teenager. That's a hell I'd rather not do again, but unfortunately I had no idea before reading this story. I'll probably have to get counseling, but please allow my experience to spare other unsuspecting adults that expense.

I have never really been interested in supernatural books but this one caught my eye. I love Tijan and have read all of her other books. I finally decided to give this one a try. I loved it. I was the beginning of the series and thankfully I didn't have to wait for the other books to come out. I couldn't put it down. The characters are dynamic and you really don't know what is going to happen. I love Davy and Lucas. I think that I am now going to have to be a little more open to this type of book in the future.

I of course read everything Tijan writes so when I saw a paranormal, I jumped on it.
Let me just say I love the storyline and I love the characters. Davy is strongwilled and Roane is delectable.
While I loved all of this, I felt the execution was a bit off. I felt like I was playing catch-up the whole time. The way things were revealed kept making think I missed something.
However, I'm eager to start the next book because I know exciting things are going to happen.

I usually don't read vampire novels. They just aren't my thing. It takes a lot for a vampire book to not be cheesy. But I LOVE Tijan so I decided to give it a go... and thank God I did! I loved this book! Tijan writes on a different level, I swear.

I have really enjoyed other books by Tijan, but this one was very disjointed and emotionless. Characters were one dimensional and interactions between them were stilted. Just couldn't get into it at all.

Tijan's writing is both funny and serious. She creates a paranormal world all her own with a rich back story. Davy Harwood will keep you reading until you finish. The story has both an excellent plot and a love story thats is complicated and realistic. Tijan will draw you into the world she has created and you will love every minute of it.

Tijan has the skills to bring her characters to life with such detail. You can't help but fall in love with this story. As a romance lover, I was hooked. Im not usually a supernatural fan so I was slightly hesitant to start this title but didnt regret it at all.

Whereas lately the popular trend in paranormal literature has included traditional figures like vampires, werewolves, psychics and humans caught in the middle, Tijan throws the traditional prose out the window and recreates and revives the genre. This work in particular is a truly original piece of supernatural writing. I am impatiently waiting her follow-up novel in the series.

I enjoyed the plot and thought it was interesting. I don't really like Davy she is to self involved. I am on the fence with Roane. I like the plot and hoping they all get together. I am slowly being dragged into the story but willingly. This is action packed and intense.

Wow, what a beginning to this series. I loved Davey and how she struggles with what she has now become and what her future is as she tries to hold onto being "normal". I loved being introduced to one hot vampire. I can't wait to read more of this.

Rereading this book in preparation for Davina and I noticed I haven't reviewed any of them. I really loved this book Lucas and Davina are a favourite couple of mine even though they are not really a couple I this book. Tijan has done it again and created a world I can get lost in. I feel Davina fear and hurt along with her and I look forward to rereading the next book again

I have read several of Tijans books at this point, and I was getting to be a diehard hard. She is a splurge for me because I usually only read KU novels. At this point I wish that I hadn’t read this, because I’m now afraid to risk wasting money.
Spoilers ahead
The premise of this book was great and I found the whole series promising. I don’t have to have romance be a central factor to love a book, but when it is, it should be done right. Right up up until the ending I was enjoying the relationship between Roan and Davy. The the bombshell drops. Roan was in love with (and lover to) Thalia the previous immortal, who he had save as a child and practically raised. She had died just days before his connection with Davy started and at the point they slept together it hadn’t even been a week since her death. I don’t even know where to begin with the problems with this plot point. A) I don’t understand why the author didn’t write the story between Thalia and Roan, at least it was real. B) If he knew that’s was why he was drawn to her why didn’t he fight it a little, he knew what Davy had already went through with another vampire and it was just unfair. C:) It’s impossible for me to even enjoy a further relationship between the two of them, he just comes across as a selfish jackass, and I’m not really sure if I could believe that he truly loved either of them. Long story short that ruined the whole book and I’m really irritated that I spent money and time on a story that wasn’t what it presented itself to be. Any book where the main character becomes the sidekick in someone else’s story is a wash for me. I feel cheated. I chose to read Davinas story only to find out it all centers around a person killed off in the first 5 minutes. Ok, petty rant over.
