A very interesting and poignant memory of the darkest days in history. As many of these kinds of books that i read, ech one is quite different yet so similar. The seller provided in record time, in excellent condition.

This book was a really good read. The characters were strong & the storyline was well put together. There were several surprises in the plot. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a captivating novel.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. There was a lot to hold my interest, several twists in the plot, interesting history, and I didn't know how it would end until I finished the book! The writing or editing did need some improvement; however, I was able to read the meaning.

I pretty much guessed what was coming in this story most of the way through but I did enjoy it. It was well written and the story really came to life from the beginning. Quite nostalgic at times. It was a bit sad though. I won't spoil it for those wishing to read this book by saying any more.

The author really brought the characters to life. I felt like I really got to know them as I watched them come back to Fairfleet and go back to their yesterdays. It was a wonderful read. Benny, Rosamund and Rudi all came together in a beautiful story.

I really enjoyed this book! Interesting format; some "ah-ha" moments, some "oh please.." also! Nicely balanced yet complex characters; plot kept me engaged; historical information was interesting, informative and it flowed naturally...A good read!

After downloading samples of several other books, I decided on this one based on the period of the storyline.
Eliza's story kept me engaged while provoking a range of emotions for her characters -- from laughing to, at one point, almost tears. The characters came to life on the pages and revealed what it means to be human -- I just loved this book.

Wonderful story about relationships and mistaken views of childhood issues. Two great themes woven together with the author's expertise.
A young girl and a young Jewish boy from Germany find similarities between their lives. A great read!

Different twist on this theme, but the story line was a bit far fetched, too unbelievable. There are many books written about the transport of the Jewish children from Germany that are superior to this book.

Really well written; it moved along, leaving me looking forward to coming events .Since I grew up during WW2, & was acquai[nted with the
chaos fear & heartbreaks of the time, I felt it was quite realistic. The title is quite appropriate.
