I bought this for a first grader going into second grade. It was easy reading with lots of pictures. It is paperback so easy take along in the car. An added bonus: He may learn something beyond video games.

I bought several of this books for my children, they love them so much that they have now a big collection, and I love the fact that they actually read them and are learning a lot, they come with different reading levels for each child reading skills.

It helps keep my kids interested in Reading because the subject itself is really interesting. Double whammy for young inquiring minds, reading and science. Regardless whether your goal is to focus on your child's reading or their scientific education you inadvertently accomplish the opposite goal simultaneously.

National Geographic never disappoints. We have the magazine subscription for kids, and this is very similar in its design. A great item for young readers. Our 4 year old is just starting to spell in preschool. A bit early, but he loves writing letters and learning to now write words. I have purchased some of these to encourage his interest in reading and they are really doing just that. The words are simple, and he is able to recognize many of them. He loves the subjects- planets, volcanoes, penguins, wolves, etc. We read a minimum of 2 books at bedtime and these just make it that much more fun! They're also great for in the car. They have a portable size, are thin, and keeps him entertained on long drives by looking through the book- spotting words, and enjoying pictures. Thanks Nat Geo!

This is very age appropriate and fun way to learn about the planets. It is age appropriate for the reading level with the challenging words to help advance at reading. My daughter and I really enjoy the book.

I ordered this little book for my nephews and nieces that live out of state and they enjoy this very much I am sure. The book arrived within the time frame and I received many thanks for such a thoughtful gift.
