Well written, great narrative, with the advantage of seeing Loki's change from "Loki, the Doer of Good and the Doer of Evil" to "Loki the Hater" which was an important point that is often missed. Perfect if you have a passing interest in Norse Myth, and want an enjoyable story.

This book was great. If you are interested in Greek/Roman, Native American, or any any other mythologies, you will love this book. It gives very good myths and explains them well. Not only that, but it's free. You should just get it and if for some reason you don't like it, them jut delete it and you have not spent a penny

This book breaks down many of the stories important to the Heathen Faith. It is enjoyable to read. The language would be difficult to a very small child but should be easy to grasp for a 8-10 year-old and older.

Sometimes confusing and a bit disappointed by the end. After providing so many unnecessary details on other stories, I found that the twilight of the gods (last story) was a bit anticlimactic. Really liked it till the end.

I had previously read the prose and poetic Eddas and read this out of curiosity. I was very disappointed, and I doubt that this overly sanitized and abbreviated version will entertain anyone. Surely a better children's version of Norse mythology exists. If not, someone should fill this hole in the literature.

This is a great book of mythology. Well written and captivating, with many parallels In it to other mythological works, as well as a few parallels to the Bible!
As a Christian reading this, I can't help but think of it as "pre-evangelism" as Tolkien and Lewis would see it! Drawing out of our hearts a desire for a deeper reality that God has put in them!

It is sad that Cristians have demonized their anglo saxon heritage. This is due to the treaties of Battle of Saxony 772. Roman and Greek mythology survived because the cult of christ was small and insignificant until Charlamagne came along and compromused with Widikund. I dont think the Viking berserkers helped the cause much. The white race knows not its origins after all. lol

I read this book with my children who were enthralled with all the stories. It is very child friendly. I wish it had the illustrations, but the book was free and my children loved it so I can't really complain. This book is ideal for anyone who is interested in mythology and is tired of all the Greek and Roman mythology tales. Nordic mythology doesn't receive the attention it should. These are fantastic tales.

This is an awesome compilation of the norse mythology. The author does an amazing job of knitting the tales together. Probably the best book for any one that is unfamiliar with these old stories!

Please read.

A very well-written rendition of the classic Scandinavian tales. A well-formatted ebook too. Mr Colum does a great job of telling the story of the Aesir in a flowing chronology from the very beginning till Ragnarok. Highly recommended.
