The characters were well developed and believable. As the story moved back and forth in time each character's actions, thoughts and feelings became clearer and the story took shape. The fact that Alice was given a voice helped to clarify the relationships among the characters building up to the unexpected ending.

I gave The Night of the Moths five stars because I liked the first person narration of the many characters, which like the plot and ending, kept me a little off balance. Just like the living characters, I kept wondering what was going on.

It took me awhile to get “into” this book. I found it beginning confusing jumping between past and present. Once I read about a quarter of the book I was hooked. I usually can identify the perpetrators warily on, but I was surprised by this one. Engaging story. Well written.

This book was surprisingly excellent. During the first few chapters I wasn't sure how I felt about it, but once the story picked up I wasn't able to stop reading it and I finished it in one sitting. Definitely recommend this book!

The twist and turns provided by the author leave you constantly reconsidering the possible outcomes. Excellent character development, leaving you intimately acquainted with even the most minor characters!

The author switches back and forth between the voices of the characters, even the dead one. I was too often confused whose perspective I was reading. I was anxious to finish this book more to read something else than to see what happened.

This book seemed interesting enough a dead girl telling her tale. It later unravels a cast of unlikable characters with no charisma and perfect. It seems to be written like a bad movie script plenty of filler pages even three pages that repeat the same dialogue boring and bland.

Initially I was very disappointed with the beginning of the book. I couldn't tell if it was translation or writing but then things somehow calm down and you become intrigued but the characters and the story. It's maybe not the most suspenseful book but after the first 60 pages I was definitely into the book.

The book was a fast read. The sentence structure wasn't typical so that could bother some people. I don't want to spoil the ending but I do wish Enrico would've told the truth to the authorities but I guess the main culprit got what they deserved.

This was an interesting read. The plot was good, but the writing was weird. The writer spent too much time elaborating on things like the character's song choice on her iPod, he did this multiple times. I'm not sure if he was trying to create a mood but it wasn't working. Lots of weird writing choices such as that.

A stirring, intelligent novel that weaves contemporary characters and pop culture into timeless themes. At some points scary, others funny, it has a feeling of depth throughout. I'll look for more from this author and translator.
