Many of the recipes are very good and provide some good cooking solutions that avoid added fat which can be applied to recipes not in the book. That said, some of the recipes are not palatable by non-vegans, which is a problem in a mixed household.

Great cookbook. There is an authenticity about it- it is not hard to believe they really cook this way. I feel like I am reaping the benefit of their years of experiences cooking for their families. My family and I really liked the open face heirloom tomato sandwich and the massaged kale salad was a big hit as well.

Yes it exceeded my expectations. The recipes are delicious they're healthy and I feel better since I started implementing the diet. Also, in 12 days my total cholesterol and LDL both dropped over 100 points. I have the energy that I had lost. Even though I am on Crestor 10 mg I think the results are amazing!

Recipes are simple and basic enough for even people who are new to eliminating processed foods and transitioning to a whole plant-based diet. Also all the Esselstyn (Dr. and wife) books and articles found on the net are very helpful in giving people creative ideas for cooking and eating happily without fats and oils.

If you're serious about improving your health and your life this is a great book to get you started. The recipes are easy to fix and tasty. There's much more variety than you would initially think there would be available. Currently reading the Engine 2 Diet book and it is also very good!

Ann Esselstyn's Cook Book offers delicious approaches to the implementation of Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn's perceptually extreme dietary mandates. Using the recommendations, expect dramatic positive changes in your weight and overall health.

These recipes are great and will definitely broaden to use food to heal. Just reading this motivated me to purchase and read Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease for even more knowledge and better understanding of how to improve my health. Slowly but surely, I'm learning to eat in ways that help rather than harm my health.

Great book! I'm always looking for new recipes or new takes on old favorites and this book has been pretty good so far. I bought it on sale for a few dollars just because it was such a steal and I haven't been disappointed yet!

I have been cooking my way through this cookbook and blogging about it http://rachellesbestlife.com
So far, I have really liked most of the recipes. While some have fallen short, many of them I have already made several times.
We have really loved:
Essy's Oatmeal Bowl
Sandra's Chili
Enlightened Dr. Seuss Polenta Stacks
Savory Smoky Oats

The list goes on. Like most recipes, I have had to adjust the seasonings to our taste.
A couple of the recipes need special equipment, which was a turnoff, but it's only a couple.
Overall, if you are looking to eat a healthy, low fat, plant based diet, this book is a winner.

Some of my favorite people putting a super cookbook together. Their personality comes through and puts a smile on my face. Love each and every recipe and comment by these two wonderful women. Wish I could be part of their family!

I love this cookbook whether you're concerned about heart disease or not. Wonderful recipes, beautiful color photos, and the magic of cooking without oil and not missing it at all. I've already sent one as a gift and the recipient was as thrilled as I was. Highly recommended!
