I'm probably the last person this poor author wishes read and now reviewing this book. But here I am., being a pain in a writer's butt. First I'll give my review as if I knew nothing about actual Hotshots. I'm not normally a huge fan of Romance novels. They tend to push the sex part a bit overboard. I have an imagination and much of the time they make it sound gross trying to over describe things. This wasn't too bad and it was well written and a quick read. Now on to the bad...lol
I've been married to a forester for 23 years. The first 3 years of our marriage we lived in NE Oregon and he would work fires as needed even jumping in with the Hotshots when needed. There were two crews in our county. So, the terms used in this book drove me crazy. Clearly most would never notice but I do like accuracy it's not too hard to do. Every time the term "hotshot firefighter" was used, I'd giggle. But every time the description of these men were given I imagine Chris Hemsworth. NOPE, not even close. They are either part of a Hotshot crew or they are simply called a Hotshot. If the term firefighter is ever used it's called 'wildland firefighter.' Yet that still sounds odd. They'd not typically use that about themselves. Unless explaining it to someone who knew nothing about them. To the best of my current knowledge, there is only ONE Hotshot crew that is also a municipal crew; meaning structural firefighters that happen to be Hotshot trained. There were 3 but we're now down to 1 and none were ever in AK. And while giggling last night I asked my husband "Did it take you months to get certified to go out with the Hotshots?" nope. He was trying to count up his days....done in actual hours and he thinks it took him about a week. Yes, they work their butts off...when they work at all. He loved it because as a young man he would work very hard for 3 months while in college and earn more than he needed to survive on for that college year. But I don't recall seeing ANY buff guys (ok maybe some girls...lol) as Hotshots. And we lived around more than most areas of the country. Most were like my guy, very lean muscle. They are quick and can keep on going for hours on end. While I imagined this buffed up Cade, I giggled trying to imagine a weightlifter running uphill from a fire. They usually aren't runners.
Otherwise, if you know nothing about the subject just enjoy the read if you are into romance novels. If you know a Hotshot, then read it anyway and get some good giggle out of it like I did. BTW, most of them are dorky boys (18-25 years old) that don't mind dirt, being away for 21 days at a time and now showering that long and just love being outdoors. They are rarely a serious bunch and in Alaska like we had in OR they'll not work in the winter. Most are ski bums the rest of the year! Maybe the author will do some homework first and decide to write some about Smoke Jumpers (if not done already). Now those guys think they are the best of the best. Kind of like Special Forces when around regular Army folks (my guy is one of those too. Bet you didn't know the Army had foresters...yet). Always trying to out-do each other.

Amelia and Cade were in love. Then she caught him cheating and iced him out off her life. No talking about him with other people or even tolerating it if his name was mentioned. After a week of trying to talk to her, he left. For seven years.

She tried to move on and on her wedding day she decides not to get married and takes off, running into Cade in a bar. She's still pissed at him for cheating. He's still pissed at her for believing he cheated.

They still love each other but it's buried under anger and pain. There is a lot of angst. Seven years is a really long time for her to be able to block all conversations about him and for him to stay away. I liked the book but think it was really heavy on angst and unbelievable that no one explained the truth to her. She was suffering and I think someone would have made her hear the truth. It would have been better if it had been less time and her crazy had been dialed back a bit. But I enjoyed the strong characters and seeing them fight to get through the pain and back to each other.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. This was a really sweet second chance romance. Cade and Amelia were apart for 7 years because of a friends jealousy and lies. They find their way back right when Amelia gets out of a relationship and both still harbor hurts from their past relationship. The book was well written and moved nicely through their rekindling the love they both thought lost forever. Really good book with some sweet romance, frank conversations, steamy bedroom scenes, and throw in some seriously hot firefighters....I say total score!

Amelia and Cade grew up together, and then dated through high school and just beyond. They were it for each other, they were sure of it. Until one day a betrayal and heartbreak sets them apart. Far, far apart. There are a couple problems, however. That betrayal never actually happened, but the heartbreak sure did, on both sides. The other problem is that both of them were too stubborn to even really face any of it. Cade moved away and was living his dream as a firefighter. Amelia moved, though staying in their hometown, and started her own construction business. But neither of them really moved on.
Seven years later finds Amelia running out on her wedding day, and into a bar. One things leads to another, and who should pick her up off the floor, literally? Cade. He's just moving back to their hometown. Call it Serendipity that they were there at the same time. However, that hurt that happened seven years before still has them falling back in foolish pride.
They decide to try again, however. Unable, and if they're honest, unwilling to stay apart any longer. The love and passion is still there, it runs deeper than ever. But can they get past heartache, fear, insecurities, and rising issues, both past and present, to let their love burn brightly?
In full disclosure, I read this in exchange for an honest review. You can't ever go wrong with a JH Croix book, I've been a fan since the first one I read. This one is no exception, this story really delivers. You have burning hot sex, passion running wild, emotions overflowing. You can really feel Amelia and Cade running the gambit of their story, and you're rooting for them from start to finish. You'll get a laugh out of some supporting characters. You'll want to strangle others. I definitely recommend this one, and I know this series is going to be awesome.

Another great read by JH Croix. Loved this book. It begins with Amelia in a wedding dress in a bar. Suggest something right? Yes, she left her soon to be husband right before the wedding and now she wants to drink and be left alone. After too many drinks and the realization she doesn’t have her purse or money to pay for what she had drank she decides to earn some money by playing pool with some men in the bar. That leads to a fight which lead to her being rescued by her former boyfriend Cade who has been gone for 7 years. Wow all that and the book is just beginning. I won’t give you any more details just know it’s so good. This was such a great read. So many things to work through and such heat and pent up anger between Amelia and Cade that they practically explode when they are close to one another. This book gives us love, hate, hot passionate sex, anger, danger, betrayal, and healing all rolled into this story. I received a free copy and voluntarily read this as part of the ARC to give my honest opinion. I LOVED it! I love how the female character is both strong and broken and the male is both alpha and tender. J H Croix gives us such great love stories that deal with real life issues, not just they meet, fall in love, have hot sex, and live happily ever after. She gives us what the characters feel and deal with daily. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

7 years ago Cade and Amelia broke off when Amelia found Shannon in bed with her boyfriend, Cade. She never gave him a chance to explain things.
She cut off all ties to Cade to be able to move on, but in doing so she never learned the truth about that night. Cade ended up leaving town a week later for the hotshot firefighting crew training that would last a year.
When he found out she was supposedly in a happy relationship he thought it best to stay away. 7 years later he gets offered a job he can’t refuse in his home town .
Amelia ran out of her own wedding she kept going until she stubbles upon a bar & she doesn't have money or phone. She play pole with some guys in hoop she will win some money to pay the bill, unfortunately they don't want to pay her, they just wanted some fun with her. So she just punch te guy who than defend himself, when she stubbled on her A** in the middel of her wedding dress on the floor. What she didn't expect, was that she stubble upon Cade who has just returned home.
Anger, regrets, lust, frustration, betrayal..... every emotions come and go between them, like those electric shocks are still sparkling between them.
That is until Shannon suddenly shows up again & tries to stir things up.
Well I hope to know soon what happend to Maisie & Beck.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily reviewing it.

Love this book. Another hit from J. H. Croix.

Cade is a hotshot firefighter and a position to be head of a team where he grew up has opened and so he jumps on it. Cade has avoided his hometown since the girl he loved misunderstood something she saw and would not hear him out. He knows she is with someone else and decided that he would find a way to live in the same town.

Amelia has known a fiery passion and on the day of her wedding she confronts the groom and decides that there is no fire in their relationship and decides to run. Amelia has always been a tomboy, she's tall for a girl, and she's got the attitude to go with It. As she ran from the wedding, she threw away her phone and decided to duck into a bar. After having a few drinks she realizes she doesn't have any way to pay for her drinks, then she decides she's going to bet a couple of guys at a game of pool. When she wins the game the guys don't wanna honor the bet, they get into an argument and she decides to punch one of them who punches her back and knocks her on her rear. At this point Cade walks into the very same bar.

From there things heat up. This is a must read to find out exactly how it heats up and what antics each character will get up to. I love this book because I believe in 2nd chances and have experience of my own with 2nd chances.

This is a very well written second chance romance with strong characters. I love Cade! He's a hotshot firefighter who is moving back to town after being away for 7 years. Amelia is Cade's ex girlfriend from high school. Amelia walked in on him and found Shannon, her best friend naked in Cade's bed. Shannon set it up so they would break up. Cade never did anything wrong and Amelia completely shut him out. Now he's back in town and breaks up a fight Amelia is having with a man in a bar. It was supposed to be her wedding day but she was a runaway bride! She still hurt over Cade and he was hurt and angry as well. She finds out that Cade didn't do anything wrong and feels bad but she still doesn't really trust him, especially when Shannon shows up back in town. When Cade goes away for a fire call, she sees Shannon, who makes comments about Cade. Amelia is a very strong and outspoken woman but she lets lies and innuendo get to her once again. I'm really not sure if she completely trusts him or not. Very hot story with angst, heartbreak, lots of sex, and love. I also loved the description of Alaska and the animals in this book. Great read!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader copy of this book. Amelia knew she shouldn't marry Earl but she thought that would be the only chance she had to get someone sort of good because she lost her true love a long time ago. She couldn't do it, it wasn't right and so she ran and ran right into a bar and sat down wet, miserable and mad at herself. She got a little tipsy and decided to take on three guys at a game of pool because she had no money to pay for her beer and if she beat them then she would. However, they got pretty hostile about a woman in a wedding dress beating them, so she punched one guy who actually punched her back but before the bartender could get over there and help her up off the floor, Cade showed up and did it for her. She became flushed, embarrassed, tongue tied, loopy and could put a foot in front of the other so Cade took charge and took her home but the whole universe tilted on its end then and things began to happen that even I wasn't prepared for and it was just magnificent, glorious, wonderful and great so read this one, it is a must read for me.

A misunderstanding split Amelia and Cade up now seven years later Cade is back. Amelia is in a bar on what was supposed to be her wedding day and she runs into Cade. Their attraction is just as intense as it had been and slowly they catch up on what each has been doing in the passed seven years. Cade left all those years ago for some training that was going to be for a year but with how things ended with Amelia he stayed away. Now he is back home for a job there and was worried about how he would handle Amelia being married to someone else only to find she never did. They slowly work through some of their issues but before they can get on track Shannon the woman who was responsible for them splitting up was back in town. Will Cade and Amelia be able to stay strong and be together? Or will Shannon break them up again.

I loved this book the characters were amazing. The chemistry between them is off the charts. I would recommend this to anyone that loves to read about a second chance at love.

Nothing better than scorching hot firmen with muscles! This is a burning hot read from the very start. Seven years apart and the flames of passion for one another still burn in Amelia and Cade's hearts. Two very stubborn people with so much raw emotion. Amelia would not let Cade explain when she found her best friend climing into bed with him. When they say "lust on octane', this book really means it - HIGH OCTANE! Cover to cover this was truly a provocative treat to read. Amelia and Cade really need to belong together for the rest of their lives. Lots of excitement and worry in this book. An intensely captivating book that has molten hot sex involved. I could not read it fast enough!
J. H. Croix never fails to make you fall in love with the characters in all the books in this series. Each one gets better and better. So much excitement with the fire and rescue part of this book. I read it long into the night to finish. I could not put it down. Super great read and would highly recommend it. I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily chose to review it,

I really enjoyed this story!! It pulled me in from beginning to end with the characters. I loved Amelia and Cade. Amelia is the tom joy with her own construction company in Alaska. She knows what love is and feels like because she had it 7 years ago before an incident happened that split Cade and her up but she doesn't have high hopes that she will ever have that again. Cade is finally moving back to town but doesn't expect the situation that he runs into when he finally sees Amelia. They are both stubborn and it contributed to their fall out. As the truth comes out, it gives them the opportunity for a second chance. I really loved the flow of this story and how things came about. The sex is explicit and blended well. The characters have high chemistry so it definitely plays a part in the story but it was well done so just added to it. There was little bits of action as well but it mostly focuses on the couple and their figuring things out. I'm excited to read the next in the series.

Amelia is the runaway bride and she decides that the best place for her to go is the bar to forget about what she has done. The only problem is after a few drinks she realizes that her wedding dress doesn’t come equipped with cash to pay her tab so she decides to play pool to win some money however she gets into it with the guys that she was playing and ends up being rescued by the last person she expected to see.

It has been seven years since Cade has seen his high school sweetheart. Their relationship ended over a misunderstanding and he immediately left town and became a firefighter. He is now back in town permanently and he wants the future that they should have had but will they be able to get over the past and learn to trust each other again?

I liked how both characters learned to open their minds and their hearts as the story progressed and the connection and chemistry between them was deep and enduring. I reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

This is a second chance story that takes place in Alaska. Amelia owns her own construction company and Cade is a firefighter who has moved back to town after being gone for seven years from Amelia. They meet again in a bar where Amelia had just run out on her intended groom and punched a guy in the bar and whereby the guy punched her back and sent her sprawling to the floor in her wedding gown. Cade picks her up and carries her out of the bar. So begins them getting reacquainted.
Their romance is intense and passionate. Can they successfully work together to deal with the feelings from seven years ago in order to move forward?
The author wrote a wonderful storyline which made sense. The characters developed nicely and were richly unique. Two of the characters will be spun off into other book ??.
I recommend this book. It's a relatively quick read and very enjoyable.

The story started off pretty good. Amelia getting drunk in a bar wearing a wedding dress, getting into a fight and being rescued by her old high school sweetheart. AT that point I was loving Amelia and excited to get into the story. After that, it kind of fell off for me. Amelia is not the dainty girl next door. She is an the storeian beauty with insecurities. She is intimidating to most men except Cade. He accepts who she is and loves her to distraction. A major misunderstanding causes them to lose 7 years together. When they connect again after Amelia runs out on her wedding, they pretty much pick up where they left off. The story is very faced paced and there is a little angst. Overall I did like the book but I wanted more of the Amelia from the first couple of scenes, not the insecure Amelia. Cade's character was good. He pretty much came in and pushed her back into his arms.

I wish this kind of soul-deep love for everyone. I just finished this story and I felt like I should light a cigarette, except I don’t smoke! But this novel was so richly satisfying I felt the need to recognize its finish in some meaningful way! The passion and fire between Cade and Amelia is so off the charts it can only be registered in terms of degrees in Farenheit. The author has crafted a beautiful story with intense, stubborn, flawed, yet loveable characters that you can latch onto and truly understand. Emotions run as wild as the Alaskan wilderness as Cade and Amelia sort through their years of anger, bitterness, lies and Denali-sized misunderstandings to discover what remains. That’s not always easy to do in a small town where everyone else knows your business before you do. It’s a good thing they’re both as obstinate as a grizzly bear with a salmon. THIS is a gorgeous, can’t miss, gonna-love-it read!

Second chance romance about two halves of a whole - Amelia and Cade were in love, intense soul bonding love. Her ex friend Shannon created a dramatic mess by crawling naked into bed with a sleeping Cade, causing Amelia to freeze him out of her life. He goes to California for 7 years to be a hotshot, returns home the day Amelia is planned to wed someone else.

Color him surprised when he finds her in a bar, drunk and starting a fist fight - the attraction between them as strong as it always had been. Things progress with the two quickly hashing out their miscommunication and picking up where they left off...then Shannon returns.

These two have beaten the odds to find each other again - can they battle the crazies astound them to achieve their HEA? It's a good thing Cade is a firefighter because these two burn up the pages! This is my honest review of a voluntarily read ARC.

A five star second chance romance that is the first book in the Into The Fire Series, but is a standalone. This was a great book that captured my attention right at the beginning and kept me page turning from then on. The vivid descriptions made me feel like I was right there in Alaska with Cade and Ameila. Two stubborn people and things were not as they appeared caused their breakup years earlier. They reunited seven years later in a bar when Cade rescued her from a fight. It was her wedding day to someone else. When she realized that she did not love him she ran off into the rain and ended up at the bar. After too many beers she gets into an argument with someone and Cade who has recently come back to town, rescues her. A wonderful love story with lots of twists and turmoil, but in the end an HEA. I received an arc and voluntarily chose to review this book.

Another great story for J.H. Croix. Just from the descriptions and the men, I want to move to Alaska. I love a good second chance love story. This one fell a bit jumpy for me. Amelia is a tough as nails girl, that is independent. We find her running on her wedding day. Cade, her high school boyfriend, and a hotshot fireman, finds her fighting in a bar.
The pair has a lot to work through, but they use that anger for some steamy scenes. Amelia is a bit rough around the edges towards Cade, which I understand why. Her insecurities about Cade are reasonable but once things are explained, she should have let it go. I was a little irked by her inner dialogue over things that did or didn't happen years ago. The ending also through me for a loop it was a bit abrupt end but still a great story.

Amelia left her fiancee, Earl, the day of their wedding; and ended up in a bar, in her wedding dress, dirty, rain soaked, and drunk, where an altercation with a man took place leaving her with a black eye.  Amelia's ex boyfriend, Cade, came to her rescue and made sure she was taken care of.  We then learn of Cade and Amelia's past, how Amelia's ex best friend, Shannon, caused their breakup and the events that lead to their happily ever after (No spoilers here!).

Sometimes emotions are hard for an author to convey, but I think they were nailed in this one.  You could feel how deeply Cade's love for Amelia was.  Amelia had insecurities and kept letting Shannon manipulate her. I know some people do not like the "weakness" of insecurities, especially from a main character, but in "real life," I have had friends with similar issues.  So, even tough I didn't really like how Amelia continued to have trust issues, I did see it as another emotion well conveyed.

I do wish, however, even though Earl didn't get the girl and Shannon didn't get the guy, that there had been more pay back for them. Especially for Shannon. Rejection didn't seem to be enough.

One thing I really didn't like about this book...the author was supposed to be telling the story from the two main characters points of view, but at times seemed to forget which character was telling the story (using "his" or "her" instead of "my" & etc.).  It even seemed the story was being told by a narrator at times (using "their" instead of "our" & etc.).

rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. I enjoyed this second chance story. we meet Amelia, bad ass construction company owner who just ran out on her wedding and ended up in a bar fight by being rescued by the man who broke her heart 7 yrs ago. Cade happens to be that man and he thought for sure that Amelia would be married and he would have to deal with it but she's single. things are awkward but they need to hash out what happened all those years ago. the lies, the heartbreak and the anger. Amelia didn't want to know anything about him but now that he's back her feelings are still there for him and vice versa. can cade and Amelia get past what happened? will they decide they are right for one another? or will insecurities and past lies come out on top?

Cade breaks up with Amelia after high school and tells himself it’s for her own good. He’s going in the service and worries he might never make it back. She wants nothing to do with him when he does come back ??? years later.
Cade never stopped loving Amelia and wants her back. He does not know it but she was the gossip of the town after he left so she does not trust him and will not put her heart on the line again. I loved how Cade never gave up Amelia and kept pursing her even when she would chase him away. The path they take is an enjoyable one.

I have enjoyed several of J H Croix novels and look forward to this new series knowing I will not be disappointed and neither will you.

Outstanding contemporary small town Alaska & Hot-shot firefighters. Cade left home seven years ago to train as a Hot-shot firefighter. Men like him are strong, intelligent and willing to put their lives on the line. Amelia is the town handi-woman/contractor. Cade and Amelia were high school sweethearts until someone destroyed their relationship. Now Cade is back to stay and who does he run into during a bad right but Amelia in a wedding dress. Their chemistry is scorching but the problems of the last tarnish their present and future. There's a tad of suspense due to Cade's job. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by this author.

Cade and Amelia had been together when they were teenagers and then in college. Until she walked into their bedroom one night and found her "best friend" Shannon trying to sleep with her man! She didn't ask questions, she just broke up with him and left, not speaking to him for seven years. He is a hotshot firefighter who is now moving back to town and they meet again at a bar after she punches a guy in the face for insulting her... BTW, she is wearing a wedding dress(she ran away from her own non-wedding). There is a lot of drama and a few hurdles to climb, but these two make their way back to each other and live a happy life. I read this book as an ARC and this is my review.

** spoiler alert ** After leaving her wedding, the last person Amelia expected to save her was her ex. Cade left town seven years ago and is now moving back for good. Chemistry cannot be denied, but their past created problems. Will Amelia be able to let down her walls to fall in love with Cade again? Will Cade be able to overcome his resentment to fight for Amelia?

I have fallen in love with JH Croix and this book proves why. These two were perfect for each other, BUT I love how even thought they got back together, it wasn't all roses and sunshine! These two proved to each other and their past that when they get past their stubbornness their is more there then just lust. Great book!

This book is amazing from the start. I mean, wow. Just jump in and try not to feel for Amelia. But fate isn't always cruel as the door to her marriage to be closes, she crosses paths with former flame Cade. These two practically combust when they're in the same room they're so packed with chemistry. An unfair, complicated past makes for a facinating story. They've got passion, but they also have a Tom of issues to work through. Be prepared for some intense heat, but also an emotional workout. Amazing to see the story progression, and beautiful once old scars fade. Love the book, and highly recommend it for sure. This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.

I truely love second change romances! With that said, Amelia and Cade had to equally give each other a second chance. Seven years apart did not dull their love or passion for one another. This book provides a lot of internal dialogue from both perspectives (which I absolutely love). Sometimes I wish I could tell the other character what the other one was thinking and feeling, while vigorously shaking them and screaming in their face "open your eyes!" Burn for Me is hot on the sex scenes and sweet on the love. Therefore, if you like to read about second chances, fire fighters with a body to die for, love, and deceit then this is the book for you! Enjoy!

Burn For Me, was an amazing romance featuring a very stubborn, insecure, and very self assured woman, who after walking away from an I'll conceived wedding runs, literally into her ex lover who returns to town after being away for years. Action. Lots and lots of hot, burning action follows. You know the kind I mean. And oh yeah, the other kind too, along with enchanting descriptions of beautiful Alaskan territory. The characters had combustible attraction to each other, the other characters were well thought out and contributed to the story well, leading hopefully, to more from J. J. Croix.

WOW! J.H.Croix first book in the new firefighters series Burn For Me is hot. J.H. Croix. writes in a way that you can visualize the first meeting of Amelia and Cade in 7 years where Amelia is on the floor of a bar in a wedding dress after being hit in the face from a bar fight. I love the fact they get to rekindle their romance from a misunderstanding of seven years ago. Both Cade and Amelia are stubborn and he finally had the opportunity to explain what happened. J. H.

Amelia left Cade 7 years ago when she walked into a manipulated scene by her ex-friend Shannon. Cade took off to California for Hot Shot Fireman training and stayed 7 years. He was stubborn to explain and Amelia was stubborn to to hear an explanation of truth. 7 years later she had an almost wedding and she just couldn't go through with it because their was no love there. She ends up in her muddy wedding dress at a bar and gets in a fight and Cade is there to rescue her. He takes her to his hotel room. The next day they hash it out in his truck on their way to her brother's cabin. They both have sparks between them that have never died and a hot chemistry like no other. Can Amelia let the past go and her insecurities before it's too late? Can Cade convince Amelia that she is the only one for him? A really GREAT read! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC for this book.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents.

I loved being back in Alaska!! Amelia and Cade’s second chance at Love comes just in the nick of time! These two have known for years that they belong together… but a “friend” betrayed them and tore them apart seven years ago. Now Amelia, having realized that she will never find what she had with Cade, has just cancelled her wedding to someone else… And Cade has returned to town to find Amelia is free after all! Will they realize that they belong together? Will they let this “old friend” destroy what they could have again? Love Ms. Croix’s down to earth Alaskan characters. Absolutely Love the Heat coming off the pages!!! The title is definitely spot on!!! I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Amelia and Cade were high school sweethearts. They were madly in love. Until Amelia came home after being gone a few days to find her best friend naked getting in bed with Cade. Now 7 years has past and she ran out on her wedding to Earl only to end up at some bar drunk and in a fist fight with some guy, only to be rescued by Cade. It's been 7 years since they've seen each other, but they were still in love.
Both being stubborn and upset about what happened years ago they denied their love for each other. I enjoyed the emotional conflicts with themselves and the ups and downs when their past tried to ruin them again. This is a really sweet love story that I highly recommend.

Amelia has dodged a bullet. On what some would consider her happiest day, her wedding, she is accruing a bar tab she can't pay. In a bid to pay her tab, she decides to play pool for some quick cash, however things go awry and a fight ensues. Coming to her rescue is none other than Cade her ex boyfriend. Misunderstandings, old grievances, and hurt feelings will have to be resolved, in order for Amelia and Cade to get their HEA. J.H. Croix wrote an entertaining second chance romance.

I read an ARC of this book.

Really good read, you will definitely be hooked from the first page. This was a truly amazing second chance romance. It was full of emotions and you could really feel Cade’s love for Amelia. Amelia was strong character, although even she had her own insecurities. I wish she would’ve stood up to Shannon when she came back to town and wanted to separate Cade and Amelia again. Still, it was very well writen story and I gladly recommend it. You won’t be disappointed!

I voluntarily agreed to read and review an advanced reader copy of this book. This is 1 of my all time favourite authors. This is a second chance at romance between Case and Amelia who were school sweethearts until Amelia walked in on Cade in bed with her best friend. Years later they bump into each other again and the sparks fly . With a seriously hot firefighter determined to get his girl back this is a book that will take you on a rollercoaster of a ride. I can't wait to read more in this series.

This is a great way to begin a new series, a wonderful second chance romance.

Amelia and Cade are made for each other, the air around them crackles with their electricity. Their stubbornness is endless after their breakup, it's a shame they lost so many years because of someone else's lies.

True love does win in this book, great story and wonderful characters. Definitely recommend this book.

Amelia left Cade after seeing a misleading situation. Cade couldn't stand to be at home after Amelia left and didn't let him explain what the situation really was. He threw himself into his work, but now he is home and he almost immediately runs into Amelia while saving her. They love each other, but can they get past the past and learn to trust each other again? This story was emotionally wonderful and an enjoyable read.

I liked that the female characters seemed like real woman (curves, not petite, tomboy, hold non traditional jobs). That alone may the book great. The author did way too much repeating!!!!! This was a big turn off for me & I skimmed a lot because the author repeated Cade’s outfit, The girls hair & eye color, Shannon’s bs, etc... Way too much repeat. I’ll try the next book in series but if I notice the same repeats, I’m deleting. Solid book otherwise.

Put your seat belt on, this is a thrillride start to finish. Second chances don't come around very often, so when the chance presents itself, consider it a gift. Cade is back after being gone for seven years, and runs into the one that not only got away, but the relationship that blew up spectacularly in both their faces. Misunderstandings, betrayal, anger, drama, and hot fiery passion...all makes for one smokin' hot read!

Burn for Me is an excellent second chance romance. I'm a little tough on second chance romances because they are one of my favorites and this one nailed it. This story is written so well and the characters seem vividly real. I love how their love story starts off and absolutely loved how it ended. Everything in between kept me hooked until I devoured every last page. Do yourself a favor a pick this story up now! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

A great start to the Into the Fire series!!! Cade and Amelia's story is steaming hot and one that pulls at your heartstrings. Great story of redemption and second chances! It was great being back in Alaska and getting glimpses of past characters and meeting new ones. Ms Croix is one of my favorite authors! All of her series are fantastic and this one will continue that streak!

I absolutely love this author. The writing style is amazing and each story is completely independent from others. This story is no different, but I'm hoping it may become a long series. The Hot Shots are some of my favorites, and a couple of the other characters in the book seem to have their own unique stories lurking in the sidelines. This is a definite must read and I'm proudly leaving a review for the advanced reader copy I received.

Another well written and edited book by J.H. Croix. I've enjoyed many of her books because she develops her characters and plots so carefully that you are immediately drawn in and held until the very end. This is a second chance at love story that smolders with intensity. I received an ARC of the book and have voluntarily chosen to write this review. I can honestly say that I thoroughly enjoyed the book and can heartily recommand it.

This a a seconf chance at love story. Cade and Amelia were high school sweethearts until something terrible happened. Amelia believed the worst of Cade and Cade never got the chance to explain himslef. Years later, now he's back to their small town in Alaska working as a firefighter. As soon as he laid his his eyes on Amelia, he knew he'll do anything to keep her this time.
