Evidence-Based Practice in Nursing & Healthcare - A Guide to Best Practice 3rd edition

Evidenced-based practice is important for any profession to be taken seriously and to be trustworthy. However, this book is not a fun read. I completed most of my class without it and used it sparingly for references. The 5 starts is because the seller sent it promptly, packaged it securely, and most of all described it perfectly.

Purchased this used, and it looks brand new. It must have been gently used. This is required for my next course, so hopefully it’ll have a lot of useful information in it regarding EBP. Just from briefly flipping through it, it looks to have a lot of relevant and useful info.

I purchased the older edition but when this came out, I went after it. I used the older edition for my MSN and found it user-friendly and purchased this one for my doctoral program. I was opportune to listen to the author speak on evidence-based practice at an AWHONN conference . The book is a great resource.

I am a faculty who has used this text through all three editions....it just gets better and better. I believe that Melnyk and Fineout-Overholt provides the clearest and most concise definitions and examples, with many tools carefully outlined for student and staff nurse use. It is complete and serves as a practical guide, as well.

Students in my course rate the textbook highly, so I know they find it useful as well. And those who have purchased the text rarely sell it back....it belongs in every advanced nurse's library.
