This book was so helpful to me, I felt like it came as a gift from God in a time in my life when I was questioning His plans for me and wondering how long I would have to wait to see His promise come to pass. I enjoyed the flow of the book and the personal stories about all the different people. The author did well tying all the personal stories into the story of David. The book is fabulous!

I love the format of this book. Each chapter (which is very insightful!) ends with a further study of David's life, followed by a writing prompt. There is space at the back of the book to write and you actually complete the last chapter. Only drawback is that the chapters are pretty long and it has been a hindrance to finish the book because it takes me a while to finish each chapter. But it is definitely worth reading! Wendy is so personable and relatable! I love her way of connecting with the reader. Highly recommend.

Absolutely enjoyed this book. Was great in a time of waiting to read this book and get insights into waiting in God way. Following the waiting of David was oh so great. Psalms has become a big part of my daily life with this book.

Wendy Pope walks you through the life of King David as he waited to become king. From the time he was anointed until he became king of all of Israel. This book not only teaches you deep Biblical truth, but it also allows you to walk with real life people in their wait, and see how they applied each principle taught. I love that the last chapter is written by the reader, in that you get to journal about a wait you are experiencing, and encouraged to write about how the principle applies to your pause. Wendy Pope also included a Bible study at the end of each chapter on a Psalm that David wrote during his wait, and that specifically applies to the principle within the chapter you just read. I highly recommend the book, and it will be a book you will read again and again. Make sure you have a hi-lighter and pen with you because you are going to want to be taking notes and hi-lighting every page.

This book was so timely for me. Waiting can be so difficult especially in a society that wants action and wants instant answers. I am in a season of waiting, a season of challenges. Sometimes I wish life was easier but within the framework of waiting, Wendy gives me skills to keep my eyes on my God. That He IS working in my waiting.

I really liked this book. I as m currently living a celibate life. I feel that reading their story and how celibacy helped them was interesting. Without involving six, they got to know each other. It's a matter of what's right for you, but it's also the what God expects from us. I'll probably read it again. I would recommend it to my daughter.

Disappointed. I really thought this would be a gem, but it annoyed me more than anything else. Her big wait was waiting two whole years for a baby—that she had twenty years ago? Meanwhile there’s another big wait that she’s been waiting twenty years for that no one else knows about but God? THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE BOOK TO WRITE.

I can not explain how much this book has blessed my life. I am reading it now for the third time. Over the last four months I had unexpectedly fallen into depression over a life change that happened to me abruptly. This book led me through the Bible every morning and night. There were many days that my bible study time and reading through this study helped me get through the day. I am currently reading it again. I have no idea how long my wait will be but I am in a better place since reading this book. This book is very easy to read and underatand. It will always have a special place in my heart? Thank you so much Wendy for writing it.

Wendy writes from personal experience the wait that we experience while God is working in our lives. Her writing is very transparent. This isn't a how to book, but a new way of thinking. Sometimes waiting is painful and we wonder where God is. Wendy talks about how she changed her way of thinking about the waits in her life. It is a great read for those of us in a waiting period and need to change how we process what goes on in the wait.

We never see waiting as a good thing. This book will help you see the misconceptions we have about waiting and how to change those perceptions. Learn how waiting is preparation time. If you're looking for how to change your perspective on seasons of waiting, this is the book for you.

Wendy Pope as a member of the Proverbs 31 Online Bible Study team has delivered many heartfelt devotionals as well as teachings, but her time waiting to see has really paid off for the reader.
She puts it out there, and yes this is a Christian Book. We all have had to wait and watch our friends, loved ones, and the other ones get what we felt was Our Blessings.
She responds to that from her own experiences of waiting without hitting you over the head with biblical "Christianese."
The workbook included within the book is just wonderful for making you think. It's right there, so you don't have to fight with several books, pens, highlighters..,
If you want to do the Bible study with others just google, and visit Proverbs 31 Online Bible Studies

This is a very well written book. I'm only on the 2nd chapter, but I am enjoying what I'm reading so far. A couple of co-workers have inquired about this book at my job and have decided to purchase the book.

In this world of instant messaging, instant food, and instant access to news around the world, most of us find it difficult to wait for anything. As a Christian, I find waiting on God’s timing especially frustrating. In her book, Wait and See, Wendy Pope gives us a new way to look at waiting. It is not wasted time, but a time of preparation and renewal. Wendy uses the stories of four real people to illustrate the beauty and benefits from waiting on God. Through the Bible study at the end of each chapter, we also learn how David waited. Wendy’s conversational writing style and her poignant vulnerability give this book an intensely personal touch and easy readability. At the end of the book is a journal for each chapter—a great way to help the reader process the information and relate lessons learned to his/her life.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who has experienced a period of waiting—for healing, for a job, for children, for direction in life. It has completely changed my thoughts on why we wait and how to wait well.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher and author but I also bought a copy for a friend who I knew needed this message. I am working my way through the book and I am really enjoying it so far. I am about a 1/3 of the way through. I love the digging deeper section after each chapter. I would definitely recommend this book especailly if you are going through a particularly hard time and feel like God just is not showing up. Learning to find His peace in every season of life is key!

Excellent book to read before, during, or after a difficult wait. Great reminders that God will carry us through this season of waiting as He carried us through the last one. Great reminders to stay close to God, the Person of our faith...not to worship the object of our wait.

I was one of the lucky ones being asked to review this book .This book came at a time when many trials have been hitting our family. In fact, every time I turn around it is one more thing that makes me wonder what I did to deserve all of this. Many of the things we have been dealing with could result in death, divorce or dissension in the family. Reading the book gave me an inner peace knowing that prayers are not always answered immediately but finding peace in the Good Lord's pauses. Our timing is not always his timing . We need to focus on God's Love and trust in him to lead us to the answer to our prayers. Sometimes those answers are not always evident immediately but we must wait and see.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It has taught me a whole new way to wait for my impossible prayer to come to me. I would surely recommend this book to anyone that is waiting on God to fulfill their impossible prayers as I am. May God truly bless all who read Wat and See also may God bless the author for obeying God in writing Wait and See

Wendy Pope's book allows the reader to really dig deep into his or her "wait". She assists the reader in visualizing the purpose of the wait and makes it quite personal with the space allowed for journaling. She uses verses and examples from David's wait that make the reader see why God is asking one to wait.

Wendy Pope knows a thing or two about waiting. She waited many years before conceiving a child. She waited countless months for a diagnosis as her husband's eyesight became blurry for no apparent reason. And she waited twelve years at her desk at Proverbs 31 Ministry before she was able to achieve her dream of publishing a book.
That book, called "Wait and See," is a well thought out examination of the waiting periods in our lives. Throughout the book, Pope compares the lives of 4 modern day "waiters" with that of King David to demonstrate how God uses stagnant seasons in our lives to do something good in us.
The ten chapters in the book deal with how waiting on the Lord changes us. At the end of each chapter, she reveals a little more about the lives of the "waiters" mentioned above, as they progress on their journeys. She also allows room for Bible study and personal reflection.
Pope, who calls herself a "word nerd," does not waste a word in her writing. Her analogies are appropriate, her examples realistic and her tone comes across down-to-earth without being falsely empathetic. She shares insightful Biblical truths like, "As we wait, we find peace in God's plans and hope in His pauses. Our focus moves from the object of our wait to the Person of our faith." I found myself feeling convicted of my own struggles with patience due to the honesty and vulnerability of her personal examples.
This book should appeal to anyone who has been through a period of waiting. It is a reminder that God is with us even in the times it seems he is silent.
*I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher in return for my honest opinion.*

I absolutely loved this book. There is so much meat to chew on and to ponder. I too am presently in a waiting stage and this book has given me so much hope. It is not just a great read but a real down-straight-to-the-point life lessons. Everything that the author recommends is backed up with Scripture. I like the fact that it is also a workbook. I could journal my thoughts as I recorded my answers on the pages provided within the book.
But don't take my word for it! You must get this book! I just know you will not be disappointed because the author nailed it!

Have you prayed for something and then waited … and WAITed? Wendy Pope uses three unique ways to examine what God is doing in these pauses as He works out His plan for you. First, she follows five people who have gone through long, uncertain times of waiting. Second, at the end of each chapter she helps you look at the life of David, a man with many periods of waiting. Included here are some of David’s Psalms to assist you. Third, you write the last chapter, working through a wait of your own. Prompts at the end of each chapter make this easy and very thought provoking.

Wait and See by Wendy Pope is an awesome book! When reading her book, I had so many "aha" moments. It's like Wendy was speaking directly to me. We all have wait and see moments. The book helps us put it all together and why we need to let God work his plan for us and not try to do it on our own. She shares experiences about herself and her husband, along with other people, to show us the things we go through during this wait and see process. She also uses King David as an example on how he waited to take his place as the king. He was anointed as a child to be king but had to wait many years before he took the throne. Chapter 7 of the book, "When Waiting Encounters the Uninvited" was my favorite. When you are waiting for something to come to pass and it seems like the wait is too long, we must be careful about the uninvited such as depression, discouragement and doubt. We all go through this..waiting is a hard process. But we need to wait well, "Waiting well looks forward to the future while staying present in the present". The book also has a special chapter for you to journal your own wait and see process that you are going through. An online bible study is being offered by [...] ministry in November. I can't WAIT to SEE the blessings this will bring.

On a scale of cotton candy to Brussels sprouts, Wait and See by Wendy Pope is a giant jawbreaker. This sweet candy takes hours upon hours to get through, revealing layers of different colors and flavors. This candy trains patience.
Wendy Pope unpacks what a waiting season can be like with personal stories (her own and others). Better yet, she prompts you to consider how you can use your waiting period to prepare for the day you arrive at the eventual destination. At the end of each chapter, Pope includes a short portion that incorporates scripture reading to further support her points and encouragement.
Personally, this book helped me put a name to the uncomfortable season that I find myself in. I'm smack dab in a waiting season, and I now have active ways to grow in my wait. Pope's writing style felt like a conversation, and I appreciate that she could draw from her own experience to encourage me in mine. This is not a hurry-up-to-your-destination book. And at the end, she doesn't give you a "get out of jail free" card, but she does give you the tools to live well in your wait.
I used this book as a gentle addition to my time spent with God, and I think I worked through a chapter in 2-3 days.

Wendy Pope created a wonderful journey of exploring David’s pathway from anointed King to reigning King. We often think of David without really thinking about how long the journey was that the Bible takes us through.
Like David we are often called to wait. Why is it so difficult to do that? Wendy is vulnerable and shares times in her life when she had to wait. The key is she didn’t always wait well so she walks us through how to Find Peace in God’s Pauses and Plans.
Wendy’s writings are full of lots of great reasons for why the wait is so hard but the best news is her suggestions on how to make the wait worth it.
I really like the way Wait and See is setup with Chapter 10 being designed like a journal with questions to help us evaluate our current call to wait and really begin to put the new mindset and practices into place in a current situation right now.
One of my favorite chapters is When Waiting Messes with Your Mind. The battle of our mindset can make or break our attitude, no doubt. This chapter is full of great stories and truth.
I love that Wendy reminds us to keep our minds in the word which will keep the lies in check. Often when we are waiting we begin to be more susceptible to the lies of Satan.
Biblical truth always kills the lies. Wendy goes on to remind us that Peace from prayer fills us and makes the desire to quit lose its power. The more we pray the stronger we become and the more able we are to take down the quit.
Finally, in that chapter she goes on to remind us that Praises have great power in the wait as well. “Praise has a marvelously, mysterious aspect to it that slays defeat.” The study of the Psalms really brings this truth to life.
Waiting on God isn’t wasting time; it’s training time. So thankful for the truth of this statement!
I know if you take the time to really look at times of waiting in your life through the information provided by Wendy you will do it better and gleam more blessings from it than you have before.

Everyone experiences waiting. It’s a common experience and it becomes really tough when the waiting stretches out over months or even years. It’s just plain hard. Hard to trust, hard not to doubt you made a wrong decision, hard to be patient for His timing, hard not to think the Lord has forgotten you.
I have never read a book dedicated to the subject of waiting. But I believe God has brought Wendy a very powerful message that I bet it will change your perspective on waiting too. It has mine and now I can say – don’t rush the wait.
Wait and See includes very good applicable life principles that are Scripture based. Some interesting real life stories of individuals who learned to wait on God and over their journey, they learned to wait well. Each chapter concludes with a 'Digging Deeper' section from the Psalms and David's experience with waiting.
It’s a great book to read either by yourself or with small group Bible Study. I’ve read it once, made notes, and plan to read it again for God’s Truth to settle down a little deeper into my heart.
A few take-aways that have knocked me over include:
• Waiting well looks forward to the future while staying present in the present. Waiting well means I remain open to God and allow Him to move me toward the future He has planned, in His time.
• As we wait, we find peace in God's plans and hope in His pauses. Our focus moves from the object of our wait to the Person of our faith.
• Waiting well teaches us to trust His delays rather than doubt His ways.
• Waiting well demonstrates a willingness to adjust our perspective.

“Wait and See”–Wendy Pope
Wendy’s book is a source of encouragement and strength for anyone “waiting”.
If I am honest, I have to say that I do not like waiting. Waiting can be long and painful and lonely and discouraging. Wendy shares so much wisdom to help us better understand the “Wait and See” process.
Waiting can be a test of our faith. Waiting can strengthen and renew our relationship with God.
Waiting reminds us to seek shelter and refuge and protection in the arms of God.
God uses times of waiting to change hearts and lives and relationships and to draw us into a better understanding of His will.
Waiting teaches humbleness and obedience.
Waiting gently encourages us to seek the Lord first and to lean not upon on our own understanding.
Waiting teaches us to open our hearts and minds to God’s will.
Waiting teaches us to read and study God’s Word.
While we are waiting we need to keep doing what we know to do–pray. Pray without ceasing.
Waiting teaches us to acknowledge that God has a plan and a purpose for every life and that He alone is in control, always and forever.
Waiting teaches us that God may not answer our prayers in the way we are hoping, but we can be certain that God always hears our prayers.
“Wait and See”–a wonderful new book and a new message by a new author. Simply wonderful and uplifting.

Waiting is inevitable. Waiting with hope and courage is optional. If we want to wait well, and experience all God has for us the midst of our waiting, we have to be honest with Him about our fears and struggles. We also have to ask Jesus to give us eyes to see through a lens of hope, and a heart molded by faith to trust He is working for our good and His glory, while we wait.
Through the pages of Wait and See, Wendy Pope will help you do just that. Chapter by chapter she will help you look for God and find Him in the middle of your wait. What I love about Wendy is she doesn’t just tell us to “Be patient and trust God.” She shows us how. With the wisdom and compassion of a friend we can trust, Wendy walks with us each step of the way, guiding our hearts into a place of strength, perseverance and expectant hope as we look for and learn how to see the work of God’s hand, the evidence of His presence and the gift of His peace that “waiting well” brings.

“Wait and See” by Wendy Pope is not your average Christian Life book. Not only is each page bursting with inspiring words, but the most gratifying part of the book is the end of each chapter where there is a “Digging Deeper” Bible Study with David and the Psalms to enhance Wendy’s teachings. There is no pretense with Wendy’s instructions teachings and her words of guidance and discernment are inspirational and God-inspired. A guilt-free nugget Wendy shares is “Being holy doesn’t mean we are perfect. Being holy doesn’t mean we are without sin. Being holy means that through God’s mercy, and for a definite purpose, we have been set apart from those who don’t know Him as their personal Savior."
This book is a great life application teaching. We live in a society that wants and expects instant gratification, but sometimes we simply must wait for God to unveil His intricate puzzle in our life situation. “We have to believe the God of possibilities rather than be overwhelmed by the impossibility of our situation.” Wendy wisely shows the reader ways to take pleasure in the waiting so that we can become closer to God and His intricate and amazing plans for our lives.

Perfect book for all of us that reside in the mentality of “drive through life” – I want it right now! Wendy Pope shares her own story of waiting times and to me that is what brings this story to life. I felt Wendy’s pain, but growth through her own journey beginning with infertility. Immediately I knew we had a kinship and I felt her pain. Wendy continually pointed to God and how He uses each wait time to grow our faith walk, if we allow Him the opportunity.
Wendy is very biblically based, but also very helpful about life. She turned to Psalms and David to help teach about waiting well. Do you ever doubt? Do you wait well? Are you in a never ending wait? Will I ever get out of this wilderness period? Well, perhaps this book would help teach you truths about the wait and open your eyes to new opportunities and joys in the wait time. I think I realized just how much time I have wasted in the wait time; waiting for the wait to be over. Wendy helped to open my eyes to the opportunities found in the wait.
I recommend this book highly to everyone. We will all find ourselves in the “Wait and See” periods and this book truly speaks truth to the difficult times, and provides help to bring joy to these times as well. Wendy provides a “Digging Deeper” section that is thought provoking and helpful.
Busy and don’t think you have time for another book? Well, make the time with this book. You will realize that it is book that will make a huge impact on your heart! Wendy Pope wrote a touching, honest, and helpful book that is definitely well worth your time and money!
I was given this book to review by the publishing company, but will purchase books for family and friends.

Do to foot surgery, I have been in a season of Wait and See for the last three weeks. I have had problems with my feet, off and on, for the last four years. During this time, my temple has grown tremendously and I'm impatient to get back to a walking program again. I want to be done with the healing and moving on with life. But I know better this time. Wendy writes, "Our once-willing spirit is weary, and our right thinking becomes distorted. We figure that pushing God’s agenda ahead of His schedule will shorten our wait. But the enemy has lied, and we have fallen for it hook, line, and sinker." I know this to be true, as this foot surgery was partly a redo, as the last healing did not go well. I walked on it to soon, and it caused me even more problems then before. In reading more of Wendy's book, I've come to believe God's reason for putting me on this journey, is to realize, my journey is on the inside with Him and not on the outside with the world.

Wendy Pope is an excellent author. I just loved her book. I love how Wendy talks about how we should focus on the person of our faith (God) instead of focusing on the object of our wait. Waiting is very difficult for me. My season of singleness is a difficult waiting period. I don't like being in the waiting room. After reading this book, it has helped me how to wait well by focusing on God rather than the object that I am waiting for which is a husband. I desire marriage so much being a wife & mom. I finished this book the moment that I received my package. I didn't want to wait. That is how good this book is. It is such a page turner. The analogy of a caterpillar in the cocoon waiting to come out to become a beautiful butterfly and how it relates to our waiting periods was one of my favorite parts. I love butterflies so much and now I can remember this analogy whenever I am having a hard time waiting. Waiting on God is so hard, but He always has perfect timing for everything. He has his own timing and never follows our own time schedules. We want what we want when we want it. I want to wait for God's best for my life. This book helped me to realized not to be scared if I never get married because God loves me more than a man ever could, I am never alone because He is always with me, and He is all I need. I can't wait for the Women's Bible Study on Proverbs 31 Ministries. I highly recommend this book and for women to sign up for the bible study that is coming up Nov. 7 on the Proverbs 31 Ministries website. I am still waiting patiently for God to bring me my husband the man that He has for me into my life, but I know that God hasn't forgotten about me and He loves me so much.

"Wait and See"... This book fell into my lap at just the right time! I was forced to "pause" from my over-crowded and busy life with an unexpected surgery. Recovery required 6 weeks of down time that included just plain old sitting (an unfamiliar act). At the same time, a family member whom I have been praying for almost 3 decades, reached a crisis point. Despite the years of prayer, I detected no change in this person, and for the first time in all these many, many years, I began to doubt and lose hope that God was and is indeed working in the situation. The other uninviteds of discouragement and depression began to take over the hope that I have held tight. God, in His great faithfulness, brought Wendy Pope's book to reach me right where I was, to speak to my heart, and to remind me to keep my focus on the Person of my faith rather than the object of my wait. Wendy's comparison of King David's long wait to become King to our experiences of waiting, was practical and powerful. The added bonus of space to journal about one's own pause brought the concept of waiting well to a more personal perspective. I recommend this book for anyone who finds them self in a short pause or a long wait. Let God speak to your heart through the pages of this book, too.

Wendy Pope is a gifted teacher of God's word. She has just written a gem of a book called "Wait and See". Wendy teaches the reader about the life of King David as he waited humbly and patiently in the pasture tending his sheep, waiting on the God. Waiting can be so hard but in "Wait and See" the reader will discover that waiting is really God pressing the pause button while you are in your pasture; your waiting can be an opportunity to exchange discouragement for joy and contentment. How glorious is that ?
Wendy shared so many biblical truths on the purpose of waiting for God's ultimate plan for your life. Her transparency about her own wait and see journey with God draws the reader in, with a desire for a deeper relationship with God. I've read very few books written by Christian authors that I have read cover to cover, taking notes and had to literally stop and pray often. " Wait and See" is one of those books that I will need to re read and share with friends. Your Wait and See season of life can be transforming ! I HIGHLY recommend this book !

WARNING: This book is not a 'quick read'. The words are easy enough to read, but the message is worth savoring. Wait and See challenges the reader to draw closer to God, especially in a season of waiting. Wendy Pope pulls from her own experiences, the stories of others, and the life of David to help others “wait well”.
When I started to read my copy, I was interested, and I could see how others around me were 'waiting on God,' but I did not really see myself as in a season of waiting. Then I read this line in chapter 2: “My rush showed no regard for how God wanted to prepare me for what was next.” Whoa. I realized how much I had been acting in certain areas of my life without fully seeking God's will and way. Thus ended my quick and pleasant read, and my slow and steady study began. Guess what? I am in a season of waiting, too; it just looks different than everyone else's. And I'm glad to be able to challenge myself now with Wendy's thoughts and the Biblical truths she shares. Following God's Word and seeking Him is the only way to find the best path for my journey.
The chapters end with a “Digging Deeper with David” section for straightforward and relevant Bible study, and Wendy Pope encourages readers to journal about their personal and current seasons of waiting (there's even space in the back of the book for it!). I'm going to buy a copy for my pastor to keep in the church's library to lend or give to someone when they need it. If you are thinking about buying Wait and See for yourself or someone else, I recommend it! Read some other reviews, and I'm confident they'll recommend this book as well. :)

Wait and See: Finding Peace in God's Pauses and Plans by Wendy Pope is a must read. You will find yourself referring back to her inspirational words of wisdom and Scripural references time and time again. We know God has a plan for our life, but in this world of instant everything, we struggle to "Wait and See" that plan unfold. Wendy uses real life experiences as well as Scripture to help us better understand the waiting process. In the Dig Deeper section, she teaches from Psalms and provides insight into David's wait to be king, and in Chapter 10 she provides a place for us record the story of our own personal wait as we reflect on what we are reading and learning. What are you waiting for....healing....a job....a spouse....a baby....financial freedom....a loved one's salvation....what is it you are waiting on? This book will help you find purpose in the wait. Learn how to use the waiting time as preparation time. The book will help you clear up any misconceptions you have about waiting as you learn to focus on God rather than the object of your wait.

We all have been through a period of waiting. Its what makes us stronger, it helps build our character, gain confidence, it makes us who we are.
Is it easy, were we born to wait? Lord no. Pope sure knows about waiting and she has written a book that shares her struggles and tells her stories in an inspirational way.
This is a book we all need to read. This is a book you will read over and over and learn something new each time. l love the scripture in each chapter and there is a place to journal and write your thoughts in chapter 10 just reflect on what the past chapters have taught you.
I Love the butterfly story at the very end. As well as the cover of this book.
I gave this book 4 stars and I recommend it.
I was given a copy of this book by Wynn Wynn Media for my honest review.

"Wait and See" is so much more than a "wait training" book; it's a book about growing in humility, surrendering self and becoming more like Jesus. With both rare and raw honesty, Wendy Pope opens her life, inviting you to respond by asking God to search your heart for His revelation in seasons of waiting. This book is also a call to thirst for a relationship with the Lord , becoming "so well acquainted with God" that when the time comes to act, with our minds girded with Scripture and our hearts with prayer, we will instantly and radically obey and the outcome will be "living to the fullest the life God planned for you." Wendy reminds us of the battle plan, armor and weapons needed to actively war against the enemy in our wait. We also need to recognize that God is never inactive or unresponsive with it comes to His children. He is always working and can always be trusted. Scripture, personal experience, Bible study and application combine to make this book not only a resource, but a journal in which God writes the next chapter of your story. As Wendy shares, don't rush your wait and know that God is good.

I used this book as a Bible study guide for better understanding God's plans in my "wait". I have read many Christian books dealing with all types of issues - educational as well as those dealing directly with struggles - and I find this to be one of the best. Wendy does a great job of breaking down the many difficulties we all encounter in our waits with God, and she brings forth the biblical perspective in a clear but compassionate way. I learned a great deal from this book, and it's written in a way to get you to journal your own thoughts while also learning from other's waits. She provides real life application for how to joyfully wait on God's plans. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is the midst of a waiting time with God.

I really liked this book.
It was perfect for where I am in life - the waiting period.
Wendy does a great job of sharing God's word with us as we learn about David's wait, remember he was told he would be King and then sent back to the fields for many years.
I love that we get to follow the stories of Ashley, Samantha, Dianna and Scott through each chapter.
So much to leave while I wait.
I want to focus on the Person of my faith rather than the object of my wait.

We all experience waiting at some point in our lives. Some seasons of waiting are longer and tougher than others. In her book, Wait and See; Wendy Pope shares stories of her life in times in waiting as well as the stories of others. She also relates these present day stories to King David and what God did in his life when he was in a season of waiting. Wendy teaches us that looking to God for our strength and His direction during this season helps to reveal His plans for us. Wendy will help you put prospective on what you might be journeying through, and help you gain higher confidence in what God’s plan may be. I highly recommend this book!! - Sherri D

Wendy has done an awesome job of walking her readers through God's desire for us to "wait well". I wish I had access to this material years ago. I can't say that I always waited well. As a Christian, it is easy to look back and see God's hand and plan in the trials and waiting rooms of life, but trusting when looking forward is the part I, for one, need work to on. Wendy keeps the readers eyes focused on the Lord as she leads us through the principles of waiting well by sharing stories of people just like us, as well as the great story of the "man after God's own heart", David. I love that Wendy has made the book interactive by asking the reader to participate and respond by journaling on their own wait and what they are learning. This is one book I'm sure I will return to time and time again.
favorite quote from "Wait and See"- "The wilderness makes us desperate to end the wait before we are fully equipped to receive what God has prepared for us."

Well done Wendy Pope! Waiting well takes work and Wendy Pope in her new book "Wait and See" takes you on a journey of "waiting well". We are all waiting for something - a job change, that spouse we've dreamed of to walk into our lives, a prodigal child to return.... Ms. Pope has written an insightful book teaching how to use our time waiting purposefully - to find peace in the pauses of life and to grow spiritually in a time when it might be hard to know God is still with us. She shares vignettes of her own waiting times as well as others' woven throughout the book in addition to pertinent scripture teachings of King David - a man who waited well for God's promises (and not so well at times!). In addition to being well written there is space to journal your own time of waiting with guided questions related specifically to each chapter. This is one to read, share and re-read!!

I started this book, and within the first couple pages, I am thinking I will need a new highlighter! The pages in the book are addressing some of my deepest questions and debunking some of my long held lies. No matter what season you find yourself in, I know everyone can benefit from the words written here. We all have areas where we are waiting. My prayer, right now, is that even in the waiting, I will wait well!
Get the book! Be challenged! Be encouraged! Be convicted! Let the Lord challenge you, shape you and change you!

I've had so many times in my life when I've been waiting--waiting months for a rare neurological condition to be diagnosed while my health nosedived, waiting for the birth of my son and hoping he wouldn't be born with any medical symptoms that veterans of the Gulf War could pass onto their children (people told me to hope for the best, expect the worst), waiting through job changes and relationship conflicts, and now waiting as I pass into the empty nest season of life. Wendy's book is so timely as I've never seen a book on how to wait. I've been in Wendy Pope's online Read Thru the Word Bible Study for nearly two years, and Wendy writes as she speaks and uses personal experiences from her life and the life of four others as well as King David to illustrate her points. Wendy writes with understandable and relevant "bite-sized" chunks of wisdom and includes several examples from different perspectives that I can readily apply to my life. This is a unique book that I will be re-reading many times!

Wendy writes like a seasoned author in her debut book "Wait and See: Finding Peace in God's Pauses and Plans". Wendy walks you through different phases of waiting and shows you how to "stay present in the present" so you can truly experience God during your waiting time.
Heartfelt and personal, Wendy emphasizes how the Lord longs for us to reach out to Him and ask for help, clarity and direction. I love that Wendy identifies some of the common "waiting misconceptions" we all have encountered in our lives and points out a few "survival assurances" to encourage us when our waiting turns into a long wilderness experience.
A fun and personal touch Wendy included in her book is YOU get to write Chapter 10, "Worth the Wait: My Story" as you read and reflect on each chapter.
Wait and See will truly transform your waiting time. It sure has mine!

To the Christians waiting on God for the desire of their hearts or for their circumstances to change, please read this book. When you are convicted in God's word, this book makes you realize where your faith is really at, also an insight to when you are trying to rush God's timing. Focusing on God is more important, it really hurt me to realize that I put my problems and desires ahead of Him.

Wait and See by Wendy Pope is one of the best books I have read. She teaches us to wait in God’s strength to see what His plan is for our lives. She weaves stories of real life throughout to show us what it can look like in our lives as well. She also takes us back into biblical times to show us how to wait as David waited. I love the space to journal your thoughts in Chapter 10 in answer to what we learned in the other chapters. Also learning and studying scripture at the end of each chapter is so welcome. I love Wendy’s teaching of digging deeper. I will be reading this book many more times and have no doubt I will learn new things each time.

Waiting is a fact of life in big and small ways but what does it look like to wait well? In "Wait and See", Wendy Pope sets out to provide insight for just that. Warm and engagingl, Pope tells her own story of waiting through these page and also explores what waiting looked like for several others. Perhaps best of all, she applies God's truth on waiting through the experiences of King David...a man after God's own heart who didn't always get things perfect. In the telling, she provides not only practical insight on a topic that can cause even the stoutest of hearts to contemplate giving up but also encouragement and tools for our own journies. Waiting may not be our first choice but making use of that time, being productive in the wait, adds value and brings joy.

Everyone will get in a situation where God has us wait. It's hard, it's not fun but there is a biblical way to wait. This book takes you through David's story through his wait to be king. Waiting is one of the hardest, most frustrating things we ever encounter. Drawing on the scriptural recounting of the life of David, Israel's greatest king, and the Psalms he wrote, Wendy Pope gives us clear insight into how to wait effectively for God's plans to come to fruition. She gives practical advice on how to keep the object of your wait from becoming more important than the Person of your faith. Along the way, she uses the stories of several people and their own situations of waiting, including her own personal story, to demonstrate how to wait for what you are asking of God. Written in a clear flowing style, Wendy will draw you into the book with her humor and her obvious compassion.

“Wait and See” addresses a topic that pertains to us as part of our human condition. We are ALL waiting on something in our lives. This book by Wendy Pope brings together stories of real people who have gone through the waiting process, intertwined with wisdom from stories in scripture, along with space to write about your own current waiting experience. Reading “Wait and See” not only gave me new insights into “finding peace in God’s pauses and plans” for my life, but has helped to give me a resource to share with others who are struggling with a ‘wait’ in their lives. I finished reading this book last week and have already been able to put these very practical and easy to understand principals to work in my life. I would definitely recommend “Wait and See” and have already bought an extra copy to share!

I purchased "Wait and See" after I completed the "Wait and See" devotional/reading plan in a Bible app that I use. The devotional was so spot on and encouraging, that I knew that I had to purchase the book once it became available. The book did not disappoint. I was going through a very trying period in my life when I purchased the book. I felt helpless, frustrated, and discouraged. This book really helped me put things into perspective. I learned that I should focus on the "person of my Faith" and not the "object of my wait". The storylines throughout the book were relatable. Wendy also gives the reader the opportunity to create their own storyline. I also enjoyed the references to the life of King David and the many scriptures that were provided which corresponded with the subjects/chapters within the book. Through studying God's word, prayer, and reading "Wait and See", I can honestly say that I am uplifted and encouraged! "Wait and See" is a great read. You will not be disappointed!

In this book, Wendy Pope guides her readers through the process of reconsidering what a waiting period truly means. Is God punishing us? Are we doing something wrong? Are we ready to receive the thing we're anxiously awaiting? Pope addresses all these questions and more in a practical and spiritually grounded way. She provides numerous real life examples from other people as well as an in-depth look at the life of King David. There are places throughout the book where Pope asks the reader to answer short questions and then journal longer responses. This practical application helps apply the concepts of waiting to the reader's personal life. Personally, I was nodding my heading in agreement and taking notes right from the beginning of this book. How refreshing it is to receive encouragement and hope about waiting for God from a strong Biblical figure as well as real live people!

Wendy Pope hits a home run with a book dealing with something we hate to do! Wait and See! Fortunately for me I was not in a time of waiting when I read this book. But I am now and I am putting to good use her thoughts and Scriptures that she shared for just this occasion.
While reading this book I saw the aspects that she touches on in hindsight to times that I needed to wait. Among those aspects are: When Waiting Means Working out and When Waiting Messes with My Mind.
This book is a must read for everyone because we are all in a Wait and See posture at one time or another.

This was an excellent book. It was well written and an easy read. It shows the importance of waiting and doing it well. Ms. Pope compares waiting with that of King David. He waited many, many years to take his throne. He went through many trials along the way, but in the end his wait was well worth it. He had a special and unique relationship with the Lord. Waiting in the 21st century is no easier than it was in David's time but in the end the wait is usually worth it especially if you are in a right relationship with the Lord as well. I recommend Wait and See to everyone.

Waiting is hard, but Wendy Pope's new book shows us how to wait well. Wendy teaches us how to turn our season of waiting into a time of faith formation. She teaches us to focus on God, the Person of our faith rather than the object of our wait and to view God's pauses as opportunities to know Him better, along with a wealth of other lessons to be found in uncertain times.
Wendy writes in a thoughtful, straight forward manner. Her lessons are biblically based and practical. She draws on the life of David- from shepherded boy to king- and his psalms to teach us the values found in waiting well. In addition to King David the book follows the seasons of waiting of four contemporaries and shows how the principles in the book apply to their pauses.
The book has a special chapter where ypu use the principles found in each of the chapters to write your own story of waiting. "Worth the Wait: My Story". This helped me to apply Wendy's wisdom to my own season of waiting.
I would recommend this book to everyone experiencing a "pause". It is a hands on book that carries through with it's promise to help you experience peace in God's pauses and plans. It will help you use your struggles to grow in faith. Use the areas for journaling to learn to apply the principles to your pause. "Wait and See " can be a real life changer. And don't skip the "Digging Deeper with David " lessons at the end of the chapters. Each one is based on one of David's psalms and teaches many important lessons on waiting well.
Reading "Wait and See " is time we'll spent! Wendy Pope has truly made a difference in my life through this book and her Read through the Word bible study. I look forward to more books by Wendy!

Wendy makes us see that God is still with us during our times of wait. King David, a prime example, waited to take the thrown. What did he do? He continued to pray and praise the Lord. Nice that space is included for the Bible study portion of this book. The last chapter allows you to look into the specific wait of your life.

Wendy Pope gives us a fresh look at what it is to wait. This is more than the usual what to do while you wait self-help books. Wait and See is intertwined with wisdom from King David in helping us to understand his waiting periods which are so often expressed in the book of Psalms. Another unique feature is that we get to take a personalized journey with thought provoking questions that makes Wait and See so much more meaningful. For peace and personal growth during your period of waiting – don’t miss this book! I highly recommend it.

Wait and See has been a life changing book! Wendy does an amazing job of helping you dig into Scripture to find God’s ways to wait well. She walks the read through David’s life and uses his experiences to help teach how to wait and how to handle the struggles that come when waiting. She has a bible study portion, to dig into after each chapter, as well as, a journal prompts for each chapter. Both of these things took this book from being a wonderful read to something I could really learn and apply to my life. This book is a must read for any woman, or man, who is or has faced a time of waiting. It would be the perfect book to use on your own or to use as a group study. It is easy to read, easy to understand and rich with Scripture.

As a mom, I loved reading this book. I learned Patience is God's Timing not ours and I loved her personal emotional interjections of how stressful it can become when we use our own timing instead of God's timing.......she expresses what God is doing in the background may not be what we see in our view finder but waiting is hard. And the time we wait, we can draw into full trust......I gave this book to many of my friends and I hope they can express what it meant to them. She is of great counsel and surely gave us wonderful illustrations of her life and of other's lives that had to wait on God. She is clearly an author to watch and wait for. Waiting for her next book.

Waiting...we all have to do it. From waiting in the grocery store line to waiting for answer to prayer. Some waits are only irritating and pretty insignificant. Others are excruciating and life-altering.
In this book, Wendy transparently shares accounts from her own life, from the lives of friends, and from Scripture of enduring and coping through times of waiting. She guides us beautifully in how to use our waits as avenues to grow our faith and our relationship with God, teaching us to trust in His plan and His timing, SEEING the revelation of that WAIT being fulfilled in accordance with His perfect will.
This is a book you will return to over and over again, and should be at the top of your list to share with others for encouragement!

This is a MUST HAVE book for every woman! Whether u r single, married, divorced or widowed!!!! Wendy shares her heart. She is so transparent, funny but most of all real! Why? Because she's been there...just like us! I have gleamed so much & feel this book was written just for me! I have a feeling you, too, will feel the same way! We tell our kids to "wait & see" all the time! But, Wendy shows us how to "wait & see" when God tells us to "wait & see." I Challenge u to get this book & be as real to yourself as Wendy was in this book. I guarantee you will not regret it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I structured it as reading the chapter in the morning, and then doing the Bible study portion at the end of the chapter in the evening. I found myself being eager to come home from work so I could continue working through this book! The text is full of practical application, and the sections at the end of each chapter of personal reflection and Bible study, allow the reader to deepen their experience.

In our society today, we tend to think of waiting as a bad thing and want instant gratification. Wendy Pope shows us how waiting can be a good thing, preparing us perfectly for what is ahead when we wait with God. I loved how she showed biblical David's long journey of waiting and hardship before he became king. The book then brings the concept of waiting into current day waiting journeys that many of us go through ... waiting to find a spouse, to conceive, in illness, in career paths. Very eye-opening for me, and I really appreciated how the book asks personal thought provoking questions in a format for journaling, if desired.

I am currently in a time of my life where I am waiting, which is difficult because I wrestle with so many questions and doubts.. Wendy addressed these questions and so much more by weaving the Psalms with stories of real people in various types of waiting situations. Her writing style is relatable, genuine and yet thought-provoking. She encourages you to write out your story so you can see God in your wait too. Definitely a book I can read over and over again throughout my life as I'm sure I'll have more periods of waiting.

A wonderful book to help find peace and understanding when waiting on God's plan. Wendys Wait and See is a reflection of what a gracious Father we serve and how we can find peace in our wait.
This read felt like it was directed at me, my life, my struggles and my endless wait in the wilderness.
Wendy's teaching of Davids life shows what a powerful loving God he is and teaches us how to find peace waiting for Him.
Wendy shares her struggles and her long, long wait, but proves that it is worth the wait.
I truly recommend this book for everyone-waiting.

This book really encouraged during a tough season of waiting on the Lord. The digging deeper at the end of each chapter was a great guide to apply scripture to my own personal story of waiting. And I could really relate to Dianna, one of the individual stories profiled in the book. I could not wait to see how her story turned out. This book reminded me of God's faithfulness and encourage me to wait patiently on Him!

Nobody likes to wait. Sometimes our waiting seems as though it's going to last forever. We grumble and complain and take out our frustrations on others. I love how Wendy keeps it real when talking about what our waiting really looks like. I love even more how she helps us come to terms with all of this and teaches us to wait well. We can wait in a way that pleases God and we can have peace and contentment and even hope! I'm so glad I had the opportunity to read this book! It truly is life changing! Thank you Wendy Pope for sharing your insights, pain and joy.

I've nearly highlighted the whole book so far! I literally feel like God is unraveling the myriad of thoughts and taking my hand to lead me back where He wants me. The stories make me chuckle, not feel alone and leave me SO ENCOURAGED! I love how easy it is to read and apply personally with the questions at the end of each chapter. Thank you, Wendy!!!! - Carina

I learned so many valuable lessons from reading this book about being a woman who waits well. I admit that before I really didn't like being in the waiting seasons of life- but they are inevitable!! So, it's such a gift to learn how to work WITH God and glean ALL the blessings He has to give during the wait. Thank you, Wendy, for teaching me these principles and showing me how to better trust God and have confidence in His timing!!! Get this book!!! And have your highlighter ready!!! :)

The author is pretty annoying to me because her big story at the beginning is she was not becoming a mom & she said she really had to wait wait wait to be a mom. It's so silly because you learn she had kids in her 20s. I mean if she was in her 50s or even her 40s I could see that being a big wait story ... but come on lady ... waiting till you're 27 is not really a wait on being a parent and it made me roll my eyes. That's like saying ... it took me thirteen hours to get a job... really .... it just did not feel real to me because she didn't really need to wait for her thing for any real period of time. It was a silly book for her to write since her own wait was so short. She could've written about something she actually had to wait for, possibly.

This book is worth the read. Wendy gives excellent advice on how to wait during the pauses in our lives. We all have, are, or will be in a "wait" time. She uses pertinent examples of a variety of real life people, including King David in the Bible. There are thought provoking questions at the end of each chapter and even space to journal! This book would make a great group study or a gift.

This book spoke directly into my heart. I've never been a patient person so waiting on God's timing has always been difficult for me. Wait and see taught me the principle of waiting well. Praising God in the wait and knowing that His plan is worth the wait. I also really love the narrative at the end of the each chapter. It really helps to bring the message home!

I did Wendy Pope's "Read Thru the Word" program in 2015 and that class had a profound impact on me, so I was thrilled when I first learned of Wendy's book. Her book is insightful and helped me to grow in areas of my faith that needed to develop. Wendy has so much wisdom to share. I highly recommend this book.

The most anointed book on the hard excruciating days of "waiting" I've ever read! Are you waiting long, lonely days for God to answer the cries of your heart? Wait and See will ease the aches and pains of your wait until He answers "exceedingly more than you can ever imagine!" Thanks Wendy!

WAIT AND SEE is, as the title says, for those who are waiting. I know the perfect person to gift my copy to as they are in a period of waiting. Actually, I know several people this book will fit, so I may be buying gift copies!
Ms. Pope knows about waiting. She had many periods of waiting in her life. In fact, at first as I thumbed through it, I thought it had a whiny feel, and that kind of annoyed me. I don't want to read a book about her whining about this and that and the next thing. But once I settled in to actually read the book, Ms. Pope takes the time to dissect her whines and turn them into ministering opportunities to help others who are waiting for whatever they are waiting for.
This book is a good book for anyone who maybe waiting for God to hear them and answer their prayers. Good for church libraries and Christian counselors, among others.

Wait and See is a refreshing look at what it means to wait for God's perfect timing to be revealed. Reading the book is like having a conversation with Wendy over a cup of coffee. The best part is there is a place where you can write your own story of how you are waiting to see.

Wendy tells her story on how she learned to depend on God while waiting. She provides biblical verses and tells about David's story to help show us to trust and listen to God and that waiting is not always a bad thing. Sometimes having to wait is God's way of showing us better things. I enjoyed reading this book and recommend it highly.

As I read this book, I thought back to the times in my life I was waiting on God to move. My impatience lead me to do what I should have let God do. This amazing book taught me to keep my eyes focused on God instead of the object of my wait.
