My Father's Best Friend. This book was amazing! It was filled with joy as well as sadness and it also pulled at your heart. I was captivated from the beginning and couldn't put it down. The surprise on their faces when Lanie realizes Andrew was friends with her dad. Tragedy comes with a price as well. It read so much like a real life romance story. This is a must read book! *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else’s. ***

A believable story done right. Characters that you want to reach out to touch. You'll fall hard for their story.
Ali takes a popular trend (older man/younger woman). Weaves her magic mind and writes with such passion that you will get sucked in. The description of all in this book gives fans a visual you can't deny.
You'll feel the love, the drama will get your heart pumping and the romance will leave you speechless. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

My Father's Best Friend is both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Lanie has given up hope of ever finding love. Andrew has given up on finding love after the tragic loss of his wife 10 years earlier. Raven, Andrew's daughter, is misbehaving and getting into trouble at school. What do these three have in common? Lanie is working as a counselor at Raven's school, where she meets Andrew after calling him in for a conference. There is instant attraction between Lanie and Andrew, despite the fact that Andrew is 27 years older than Lanie. This is definitely not your typical older man, younger woman romance. They definitely have a bumpy ride as Andrew tries to come to grips with his attraction and facing the guilt of neglecting his daughter emotionally since the death of his wife. I'm not going to give away the story, but there are some heartbreaking scenes and plenty of angst as Lanie, Andrew and Raven face some serious circumstances. As with many of Ali Parker's books, this one caught my attention right away with plenty of details about the characters to make me feel connected, even with Andrew's manwhoring friend Saxton, and Lanie's over-protective (but often not attentive) father. I love Lanie's friend, Erica and her relationship with Matt. There is plenty of heart to this story that left me not wanting to put the book down. My only complaint was there were one too many scenes where Andrew or Saxton had been drinking and then got behind the wheel. Having a mother hit by a drunk driver this is a sore spot for me. I get why the characters were drinking, but I didn't like how it was glossed over that they were driving when they really shouldn't be (especially when there is a scene where Andrew is certain that someone else had been under the influence at the time of an accident AND his wife was killed by a drunk driver if I'm remembering correctly). Otherwise I really enjoyed the story.

I voluntarily received and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. This book has so many ups and downs, just when you think Lanie and Andrew are finally going to be together forever, something else happens. This is a fairly quick read, or at least I didn't want to put it down, so I was finished it quickly. It does contain an interfering mother. An older man younger woman story that ends in a happy ending. A fun read with lots of steamy sex and drama.

WOW!!! I think this might be my favorite book I have read thus far from Ali Parker. It was so well written and just a really touching story. It is instant attraction with an older man and younger women. It was a captivating book that keeps you hooked but entertained. It has it fair share of drama but very fantastic story-line. I highly recommend this book. The characters are great!

First off this is Lanie, the best friend my My Creative Billionaire. (Love her) Then you get a lot of cameos of Erica and some of Matt because of that (flove them both!) Can this book get any better. Yes, yes it can. I love the chemistry between Lanie and Andrew. And even the great relationship that developed between Raven and Lanie. I laughed out loud several times while reading this. Loved it! Read for Author...
Such a beautifully written love story on so many levels. How often does someone find love twice in their life and how often do you really find the one. The story of Lani and Andrew is just that kind. I actually had trouble putting the book down so I could go to sleep. I'm not going to recap because I don't want to spoil it. But Ali Parker has out done herself on this one. If you like any kind of love story you will love this book.

Wealthy, Widowed, Workaholic Single father, Andrew, is struggling raising his troubled teenage daughter, Raven.
Lanie is the brand new HS counselor who is trying to help Andrew and Ravens relationship.
Inta-attraction, drama, secrets, misunderstandings, love and steam is only part of this entertaining read.
Good, but somewhat predictable storyline and character's that you will fall in love with. ♡

A slow start to this billionaire older man/ younger woman romance, but well worth the read.
Andrew is having problems with his 17 year old daughter Raven. He's been a single parent for 10 years, and has been in the typical workaholic mode for years.
Lanie is able to read Raven well and as her school counselor, she suggests Andrew spend more time with his daughter.
Their attraction is immediate and mutual, but a bit taboo considering Andrews current poor relationship with Raven.
Lanie's parents are not happy when she begins dating Andrew. The seventeen year difference bothers them, and they don't even know about her connection with Raven, and Andrew's connection with Lanie's dad.
Even though the age gap was significant, I'm glad the author had Lanie at an accomplished 28 to his 45, rather than her being 19, which would have been icky.
Lots of drama, but in a good way. Their obstacles come in the form of Lanie's mom and the fact that (title is a big clue!) Andrew's very close friend is her dad! Uncomfortable much?
I really liked the way Raven reacted to/with their relationship. I thought she was going to be a deal breaker in this sweet/sexy romance and am happy with the way this all turned out at the end!

Another beautifully written story by Ali Parker. Just when you think her books cannot get any better, she brings us something like this. It's so emotional, filled with love, life, loss and so much more. It will tug at your heartstrings. I love second chance romances especially when that person has lost the love of their life and can find happiness again. Excellent read. Well written, the characters are fabulous and I had a tough time putting it down.

A new guidance counselor in the high school, a teen with anger issues, the parent. Sure, the parent is older and as his daughter’s guidance counselor, she really should steer clear. He’s a single dad and a busy executive, maybe too busy, and we’ve all heard that children act out to get a parent’s attention. Turns out, he’s also her father’s best friend. An engaging rom com that you know will have a HEA, this is a pleasant way to spend an afternoon.

A well written, easy to follow, gut wretching, heart warming tale of loving relationships. Strong bonds and feeling for the characters that grow and seem so real you'd swear you can just reach out and touch them. Emotions all over the place. I couldn't put it down until the very last word. Lanie is the new school guidance counselor.
Andrew meets Lanie at a parent/teacher to discuss his teenage daughter Raven's acting out at school. Lanie sees Raven's not the spoiled rich kid, everyone sees her as.
The instant attraction between Lanie and Andrew can't be ignored. But with Raven's rebellious side, how will things pan out for them?

I really liked this book. Andrew and Lanie seem good together. It took a while to find out that her father and Andrew were friends, but the shock of them discovering it was worth the wait. There were a lot of ups and downs but I am glad Andrew finally pulled his head out of his butt in time to save the relationship.

Falling For her Was Never So Sweet
Lanie is at the stage she feels that she is "always the bridesmaid and never the bride" But all that changes when she has to have a meeting with one of her student's parents. Andrew is Raven's dad and he is single, wealthy, handsome, charismatic and gorgeous. Any relationship between the two of them should be taboo but they have to meet often as Raven is acting up at school. Lanie realises that there is more going on than Raven merely acting up and tries to suggest ways for Andrew to become closer to Raven. The more they come in contact, the more Andrew is attracted to Lanie and her to him. I thought it was a refreshing touch that when his wife died, Andrew hadn't had a series of affairs in his grief as so many seem to do in the novels at the moment. This is a genuinely romantic story with such sweetness, a compassionate love story and did I mention the sizzling chemistry between Andrew and Lanie?? Oh yes there is - in bucketfuls. So have your fans set to max cool and have a nice long iced drink at hand and switch off your phone. This is a very hot sensuous story and yet it all slows so beautifully and you can almost 'feel' their emotions - the protectiveness, the caring, the humour, the passion [don't forget the passion!] and the desire to do anything for the one they loved. They also worked together and helped Raven and this also helped Raven's relationship with her Dad. This is a story that I will be re-reading in the future as it is so well written by Ali Parker. Come and join in the journey of their love story in this well executed plot with fabulous characters that I genuinely liked. get yourself a copy and I hope you will find it as entertaining as I do. If you are in the mood for a sweet, soulful, sexy novel full of believable characters and a few twists that will have you flipping pages, then do yourself a favor and pick up Ali Parker's newest novel, My Father's Best Friend.
As the story begins we are introduced to Lanie Jacobs who has just landed her perfect job - counselor at South Seattle High School. Not only is it her dream job, it was also her first application for a counseling job and it turns out, she is exactly where she is supposed to be. With her perfect job in place, the only thing she desires now is a relationship filled with passion, thrills and love. Has she used up her good fortune with the job or does fate have another answered prayer in her future?
Lanie's first student counseling session is with Raven Marx...a senior with some behavioral issues which are complicated by a widowed father focused on the continued success of his company. Seems Andrew Marx had distanced his relationships due to the painful loss of his wife ten years earlier. The man might be wealthy and successful, but his heart was still hostage to her loss. When he catches sight of Lanie, something shifts...he finds himself distracted, intrigued and "on fire" for the woman! Seems his heart may be thawing.
There are surprises, emotional complications, age differences and a business issues that complicate matters. All in all, this is a really great story that will hold readers captive right to the end. Do yourself a favor and pick this one up, it's a five star winner.
As a recipient of a reader copy I am pleased to present my honest review. For me, it checked off all my boxes and left me with a big smile and some gratitude for the fab Ali Parker...what can I say, the lady knows her way around a great story.

Another brilliant read from Ali Parker this time highlighting the importance of family and, most importantly, love; the love between a father and his daughter and the romantic love between a man and a woman. This book pulled me in from the start and I was hooked until the end. The changing family dynamics in both families affected was amazing to watch and the awakening love and all the passions that go with it a pleasure to experience. There is plenty to keep a reader busy, sensitive readers might need a tissue or two during the ups and downs, though, shedding tears of joy and sorrow. A lively, well-paced book I have no reservations recommending.

Absolutely loved this book! Andrew is a wealthy, widowed father raising his teenage daughter on his own. He works constantly to provide for her the best he can. When Raven, his daughter, gets sent to the new school counselor, Lanie, there is an attraction he feels for her that he hasn’t felt for anyone since his wife. Lanie is younger than him but they don’t feel that is an issue. The issue starts when they realize that she is actually his friend’s daughter. Then an accident involving Raven he pushes Lanie away. Will he see that the love they share is strong enough before it’s too late or did he push her too far away already? I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Ali Parker has crafted yet another great love story with relatable characters and plot twists that will keep you engaged from beginning to end. I loved the character progression, the changes, and the growth they go through along the way. This story is an older man, younger woman story. Andrew is a single father raising a teenage daughter and running his own company. Lanier is a high school guidance counselor who befriends Andrew’s daughter. When the two meet, there is an instant attraction but when it is discovered that Lanie is the daughter of Andrew’s best friend... they both fight the attraction until they decide to finally give in and fight to stay together. However, when tragedy struck a Andrew and Lanie are tested beyond what they expected. Andrew has to choose to embrace the love and happiness he has found or give up to do what he believes is best. My Father’s Best Friend was a well written story filled with steamy love scenes, sweet romance, deep emotion, and raw internal battles. Definitely another favorite from Ali Parker.

Ali Parker follows up on Lanie, Erica’s best friend from My Creative Billionaire. Lanie has lousy luck in love even though she has a gigantic heart. After changing jobs she starts working as a school counselor. Enter Andrew, sexy, rich and much older. They instantly have sparks during a parent conference regarding Andrews’s daughter Raven. Andrew has been raising Raven on his own for the past 10 years and she has begun acting out. Lanie, from her own childhood sees that she is crying out for her father’s attention. With the help of Lanie Andrew begins rebuilding his relationship with his daughter. In the process of doing this he finds a connection with Lanie he hasn’t had in years. Age doesn’t seem to be an issue for the two of them, but what about his best friend and his connection to Lanie. Also, with Andrew destroy what they have by reverting to his old walled up self?

Ali Parker has definitely written a wonderfully emotional book with plenty of ups and downs and a few twists . The storyline is well thought out with some amazing characters. This was a story that just kept you hooked till the very end. A older man with a teenager daughter who is having some problems at school. A younger woman just starting out in her chosen career as a high school counselor. When these two meet you can feel the instant attraction. Despite the length of this book it is quite an easy read which might have to do with how intersting and capitavating the book is.
Right from the beginning to the end the story had me hooked with Andrew, Lanie and Andrew’s teenage daughter, Raven. Andrew and Lanie meet when he has a parent/teacher interview with Lanie regarding Raven who had been acting out at school. Lanie looks beyond Raven's persona of spoiled teenager and trys to get Andrew to connect with his daughter which leads to Andrew being attracted to Lanie and Lanie to him. The two pursue dating even though Andrew is seventeen years older. What happens after is a story not to be missed.
This book has it all steamy sexual scenes, heartache, heartbreak, tears, hilarious scenes, lust/love, getting priorities straight, and a twist with like every good book should.

I don't know how she does it but Ali Parker just gets better and better. She is one of very few authors that I will read everything she writes - such an amazing author. In this book, Lanie is just starting off as a high school guidance counselor. She is starting to question her abilities as the high school might be more challenging than she thinks she can handle. In walks Andrew, single parent of a troubled teen at the school. The mutual attraction is there right from the beginning. But Andrew is trying to run a business and find a way to balance that with his relationship with his daughter. At times it's heartbreaking and tear jerking, but Ali throws in some laughs and maintains a quick pace. Will it work out between the trio? Well written and very enjoyable.

What a beautiful love story! Ali Parker focused on the characters and their struggles and not only on the chemistry and steam between them. It’s perfect, really perfect! I laughed, cried, felt angry and almost felt like telling Lanie and Andrew to stop with their hesitations and go ahead. Raven is also a great part of the story and she is the real anchor that helped them get over the imperfections of their lives and personalities! She is the most amazing of them all and with Erica they complete the support Andrew and Lanie need.

This was another amazing book by Ali Parker. Andrew is a billionaire CEO who works way too much. Lanie is a high school counselor who just wants to find love. After a chance encounter at Andrew's daughter's school, the sparks flew. Even with an age gap of seventeen years they got along great and really made eachother better. Trouble ensues when Lanie's dad finds out she's dating his best friend. But they make it through. Some tough situations arise, and we see if Andrew and Lanie can make it through. I highly recommend this book!

Lanie and Andrew are just incredible characters in this beautifully written book. There are so many other parties in this story beyond just Lanie and Andrew though, it is like amazing little bonuses all the way through. Ali Parker totally gets the angst and intensity of a taboo relationship. The excitement of the stolen glances and buildup to the crescendo of giving into their lust, written perfectly!
I absolutely loved it!

I loved & hated this book at the same time! I’m so happy I didn’t have to read it as 3 installations, that would have driven me crazy! Lanie was written beautifully, she was definitely an old soul. Andrew just needed Lanie, there’s no need to put it any other way. She brought out the best in him in every single way! I would definitely suggest any romantic to read this book! It’s all about love & enduring all its trials. Every turn only made their relationship stronger, that’s what made this story amazing.

I just loved how real, heart wrenching, and down to earth this story was! Lanie is such an upbeat person who knows when things need to be serious. Andrew is a man out of touch with his own life. His daughter Raven needs someone to see her actual needs and Lanie seems to be the one to see them. I love how this story was truly able to develop their feelings for each other. The ups and downs of their relationship were pretty high and definitely low but they learned from them and became stronger!

While experiencing their life-changing events you’ll share their roller coaster of emotions, from moments of laughter and happiness to fear, sadness and disappointment!! Each and every time I read Ali's books as soon as I start they are hard to put down. The chemistry between Lanni and Andrew is instant. As soon as they meet they are drawn to each other. Love that she is so caring for Andrews daughter even when Andrew is too afraid to show his love for her. This was one of my favorites for Ali can wait for the next.

Absolutely loved this book! It's a longer story than we normally get from Ali, but I'm not complaining at all! It's such a great read. Plus, we have Erica as a supporting character, it gives us a look to check in on her and Matt. Love! Love! Love the book!

Another well written story by Ali... Andrew is raising a teenager on his own... His daughter Raven keeps getting in trouble at school so he has to meet her counselor Laney. They are drawn to each other instantly.
