I really likes this book. At times a little bit repetitive but overall very good and especially for someone who isn’t so familiar with the deeper concepts of minimalism. Also gave good practical examples and gave you a sense of “you can do it” indorectly through the authors own examples of what he had done. Recommending!

I like reading how other's lives became greater once turning to minimalism.
The basics are covered and some interesting ones are covered as well (weight loss).
Saw a review saying that it's the same as any other blog and whatnot, but it's because it's not complicated: You do this and here are the benefits.
Got this from Prime Reading.

Recomendado!

This book draws you in immediately and keeps you there till the very last page. It moves fast and is convincing and inspiring. To say it’s well written and superbly proofread doesn’t do it justice. I’m on the precipice of making a clean sweep, but I’m excited to find my own way in this process and willing to take the time I need to have my clean sweep.

I liked that the book was easy to read, and written as if I was having a conversation with the writer. It explains very well what minimalism is, and how to start, or incorporate some concepts in your daily routine.

I really enjoyed the flow of this book. It was well written, easy to follow with simple clear advice. It helped me to question my own decision and outlook regarding material possessions. I consider myself a pretty simple person but in this day and age it is always helpful to take a step back and see where we stand and this book helps you to take that step.

This was a great read. I loved how it was organized and to the point. I recently moved and this book has been an insightful guide to starting fresh and living in the present. I highly recommend Goodbye, Things to everyone. As a society we can learn a lot about ourselves and true happiness through the whole idea that less is more and begin to focus on those experiences that make our lives filled with gratitude rather than stuff.

This book offers another insight into how to live a happy or happier life. Minimalism is about purchasing and keeping only what is needed and getting ride of the rest. Focus on what really matters. Though the author may seem a bit extreme for somebody who hasn't been familiar with the concept of minimalism, take away what he has to say and apply it to your own situation

Easy read and a great concept. I love how the author relates his ideas back to happiness and gratitude.

A little repetitive at times - felt like I read the same sentence over and over but overall made me think a lot!

I am inspired to become a minimalist but I need a book to help me convince my wife that it’s a good idea. I don’t want to leave her to become a minimalist but it may be necessary if she doesn’t get on board.

Ahhhhh! This book. I started it yesterday and I already have cleaned out over half of my clutter in my apartment. Letting go of it feels so good. Thank you thank you thank you for this amazing book! You won’t regret buying this.

It was an honest personal account of his transition to a minimalist lifestyle and I enjoyed the portions that were supported by experiences however some portions of the book felt like rambling when the subject could have been more concise.

Enjoyed how easy it was to read the book. It’s written more like he’s talking to you and not over you. Only gave 4 stars because it did have some repetition of the same concepts in the book and it did get dry/hard to read in a few spots. Other that, it has a lot of helpful tips on how to start your minimalism journey and what minimalism is.

I read this book on vacation and can’t wait to go home and take a fresh look at the things that clutter my space, compete for my attention and steal my peace. They have to go! I may not go all the way to minimalism but this new perspective on the life of Things is helpful.
Author’s honesty is refreshing. Well done!

This book doesn’t try and force you to throw away anything. The author simply shares what minimalism has done for him in his life, and what it might do for yours. Enjoyed many of the quotes and ideas in this book. Although I do not picture myself as becoming fully minimalistic, I will implement several of the ideas given by the author.

Here is a humbly written and carefully thought-out introduction to minimalism. The author emphasizes the many benefits of owning less, and provides helpful tips for getting started and avoiding pitfalls. The content is both inspiring and down-to-earth.

Thank you for writing the book, it came across my view in a time that was meant for me. I liked how you gave tips and steps since it is hard to change a life long path. I think one of the most important ideas in the book was learning to bring gratitude back into our thoughts. Now it is time to put what I read into practice.

I’m inspired to start discarding. Definitely cut down on buying more things. Not interested anymore. Don’t want to compete with others in terms of things. Don’t even want to gift more things to others. Keep them clutter-free also. Donate! Donate! Donate!

Very well written and easy to read. It was easy to relate to when reading the short stories. You have to be open to the minimalistic mentality to read it. The broken down sections made it easy to reference pages and sections if you want to revisit anything.

I enjoyed the author's use of personal narrative to convey the idea of minimalism to the reader. As someone who has long been enamored by minimalism, I was thankful for an easy to digest writing. I am left feeling motivated to begin the work of purging belongings that I have been putting off for so long.

Well, at least for me it is. This is exactly what I was looking for going into the new year. A very informative and easy read. It’s step up from “the life changing magic of tidying up”, if you are ready for the knowledge and the change within you!

I ordered this book because I'm beginning a process of minimalism; that is, I'm getting rid of things and figuring out how I want to proceed. I thought this book gave wonderful, real insight into the mind of a minimalist, as well as highlighting all the benefits of a "less is more" lifestyle.

I enjoyed this book because it made me start to think of what I actually need though sometimes it can be hard to get things down to less for example books to write notes in for school. Never the less I am on the lookout for ways to improve I think of these a lot partly because of this book

Fumio offers an honest, humble, and plainly written account of his journey to get rid of his possessions, to minimize the things he owns, so that they no longer ‘own’ his attention. I find his 55 tips helpful, and the book urges me to reflect and take action to simplify my life. Much as he confesses to be just a regular Joe, his insights are wise and inspiring. Thumbs up!

Great read for anyone interested in learning more about what minimalism is, ways to become more minimal and the effects that it had on the authors life. Even though I am not a single man I was able to appreciate the experience and suggestions that were shared in this book.

I suggest this book for anyone who is looking to change or is curious about the minimal movement. Well written and funny. I liked that it wasn't preachy but gently showing you the authors journey towards simple.
I'm inspired.
I've already started discarding my things.

There are concepts and ideas in this book to lead a minimalist life. However, there are times the book makes you feel that the author confuses breaking away from being an introvert and just having confidence to go do things in life to leading a minimalist life.

Those are two different things and the read felt like the author digressed from the core concept of the book to expressing how he overcame his lack of confidence to face some of life’s day to day challenges. There are however things the author did do which can be attributes to minimalism but not everything in there is.

There is also quite a bit of repetition which makes the read a bit of a drag.

Decided to pick this one up to help kick start my journey with minimalism. Offered some very practical advice on how to get started and what the minimalist lifestyle can do for you in all facets of life.

This guy is living the minimalist dream, but he's convinced he knows how you feel in every situation. There is no wiggle room. Apparently all of us are tired of everything we own and regret obtaining most of it.

What a fantastic book. It helped me realize that I was overwhelmed with my possessions and showed me how to create clarity and focus in my life. There are great life lessons to be learned in this book if you are willing to understand and keep an open mind!

I like that the author is very non-judgmental when giving advice. I’m not necessarily interested in becoming a minimalist, but I am interested in reducing my possessions and I took away some good tips from this book.

This book makes you look inside yourself. The author makes some good points about why we desire to own numerous possessions. After reading this book, I was able to reflect and make changes toward a less materialistic lifestyle.

A very very thoughtful read that allowed me to think of my lifestyle and what happiness truly means to me in a new way. There a many "aha!" moments in this book. My only complaint is that it can be little repetitive sometimes.

This helped me clean and organize, as well as realize that my extra stuff was taking up way too much room in my physical and mental spaces. My house has been, and is still, being simplified. Loved it!

I appreciate the authors honesty about his own personal journey towards minimalism. I have read a few other books on the idea of decluttering and minimalism. There were fresh ideas and perspectives in this book that I found very helpful.

As someone who is currently moving into a new place and read this book without expecting anything from it. I think I learned a lot from it and I would be most certainly using the tips when I move into my new place
