Pete the Cat's Groovy Guide to Life

I really like the book. Great quotes. Good length. Great Pete the cat quotes to go along with the famous quotes. That said, I gave it a 3 star due to the recommended age. I bought it for my 5 yr old daughter graduating from pre-k. She stongly dislikes the book. I read it to her and after she said it was horrible. It was just a bunch of words. she didn't even want the book in her room. So if you have someone older who can appreciate motivating quotes and Pete the cat I'd give it a 5 stars. Just know what you are getting and your audience. I really like it, and knew what I was getting and am happy with my purchase, happier than my daughter!

This was a big disappointment - maybe the worst yet of the downwardly spiraling Pete the Cat franchise. The book consists of a bunch of choppy quotes (not Pete's) and quips. This does not read like a story, and your young child will not "get it." It would be appropriate as a coffee table book in a principal's office.

My granddaughter loves Pete the Cat. Without reading what the book was about, I ordered it. This book is simply famous quotes and Pete's quotes for a "groovy life".....I was expecting a story. Blah! Not interesting for a toddler~

For the people complaining that this is "too deep" for kids , and "not for child" are insane! I couldn't disagree more! I sat and explained what the quotes mean to my 4 and 6 year old and they picked up on them very fast! It's very very important to TEACH Children things they don't know or understand yet! We absolutely love this book! Quotes are a great thing and something I want my children to learn the meaning of!

Contains really good inspirational quotes for children, plus then Pete the Cat gives his own insight on each quote, which keeps children's interest! I plan to purchase a copy for my granddaughter's 7th birthday, to read when she's having difficult days.

Anyone who loves Pete the Cat will love this book. For those who aren't familiar with Pete and his stories, this book takes a different direction from the norm and pairs famous quotes with Pete's interpretations and of course, the wonderful colorful and fun illustrations that always accompany a Pete the Cat story.

The book is recommended for ages 4 to 8, but I see applications well beyond that age range. Quite honestly, that age range may be the least likely audience. I plan on buying several copies for recent high school and college graduates because all of the quotes -- whether from Wayne Gretzky, Shakespeare, or Pete -- are uplifting and good pieces of advice to live by. I can also see teachers and librarians using the book in lessons to all ages of students.

Almost everyone who knows me knows my love for Pete the Cat! So it would be a no brainer that I would have to do a post about him. And this was the perfect book to showcase my favorite groovy cat. Whenever he is not out rocking in his school shoes or showing off his groovy buttons he is making me laugh with many of his adventures. And now he has presented us with best life advice. But, take it from me, he has advice that is great for adults and kids. So go check it out! And like Pete, stay Groovy!

Our preschool is having a "Pete the Cat" graduation and it had some great quotes for us to put around the room. This book is not a story, so not a book that we would read to the kids, but very clever.
