I am a School Psychologist and I LOVE this book! This is a great one to help build confidence. This book shows compassion and has a beautiful story! A must have for anyone with a daughter. Also, a great one for a child who is afraid to be himself or is lightly made fun of.

Teaches children the value of compa
assign, that it is more corageos to forgive, and show kindness to those who have wronged us.
Afterall, bullies are human too.
Also, that it is okay to be unique!

This is a great resource for my elementary school counseling. Often I try to help kids apply the Golden Rule and this book does a great job in a sweet, simple cute story that walks through everyday conflict.

This book is magnificently written and illustrated. I bought it for my six-year old son because of the intriguing title and cover art, and was very pleased with the content. It immediately became one of my son’s favorites, and it is definitely not a “girl book.” The book beautifully teaches essential, timeless, and often neglected notions that each person is important and has a heart, that we should treat others as we want to be treated ourselves, the value of individuality, and the importance of taking the high road even when it is particularly difficult. I’m buying every book by this author.

My granddaughter giggled and totally enjoyed this book. The tenderness of the relationship this little girl had with her grandfather and how it gave her the courage to be her self was powerful. It also showed that bullying can be turned around by showing kindness.

I purchased this book for my daughters. The message is great and it is nice that the little girl in the book is walked through her difficult time at school, by her grandfather. A recommended read for any child that is in elementary school.

I purchased this book to go with our Anti-Bullying curriculum. It is a wonderful story that addresses the topic of courage. The illustrations are wonderful and the Kindergarten children really were able to understand the storyline. It was a solid foundation for a class meeting about courage.
