A silly little story with fun characters and an unfortunately believable setting. Have read it a few times to friends now, would recommend to anyone that wants a little escape. There were legit twists I was not expecting, while some cliches were stuffed in, there was enough completely strange to keep me from sighing. Love it!

I really enjoyed this book! It was definitely a new twist on a post-apocalypse story. The hero was a very enjoyable character. This book is sprinkled with humor. I found it to be a truly enjoyable read and have downloaded a second book by Benjamin Wallace.

Imagine the Road Warrior set in north Texas except the story was written by someone with a clever (and sometimes bizarre) sense of humor. There is nothing deep about it (except a little B.S.) but it is entertaining. Naturally, the good guy wins and gets the girl, but he doesn't exactly ride off into the sunset (but close enough).

Interesting perspective on a future after a nuclear holocaust, with humorous takes on the plight of mankind. Good personality development, surprising twists, fun read. If you like post-apocalyptic sci-fi with irony, you'll enjoy this.

The story is intriguing and doesn't get bogged down in moralizing the end of the world. There's enough action to keep it interesting, but not pages and pages of rock-em sock-em robots, and the writing is chuckle-out-loud witty. I'm off to read the next book...

A really enjoyable read, I loved the humor and the action. The author wasted no time engaging the reader in the story and the pacing was even with no lags. I am definitely going to read the rest of this series!

This book was my introduction to Benjamin Wallace. What a great way to discover to his work! My only regret was that the book wasn't longer or part of a series. He has made a series out of his "Dumb White Husband" character, so maybe he'll make a series out of the Post-Apocalyptic Nomadic Warrior, as well.

Most of the reviews sum the story perfectly. A comedy in the post apocalyptic world. Douglas Adams-esque. Pokes fun at the PA genre but does it well. The action is non stop and the characters are hilarious. I've read the other two books - I laughed I cried I shook my head.

This book is amusing, well paced, and well written. I was surprised at how absorbing it turned out to be.
The post-apocalyptic world and the chief characters are crazy but things flow logically along from its premises. It's a smooth, easy-flowing read.
Recommended.

Calling this a comedy doesn't quite fit. What you have here is a action story with more humor packed in it than normal. Mad Max fans will easily relate to the cliches of the post-apocalypse world of fast cars and scavengers, but with mutants and SSB (super smart bears) thrown in for fun.

Within the first few pages, it becomes obvious that Wallace is a writer who loves his calling and who writes in order for the rest of us mere mortals to find a way to escape the everyday doldrums we suffer in. Every chapter in PANW is like an invitation from Wallace himself, as if saying, "Come on, come with me. Let's have some fun and leave all this real world BS behind!"
At the end of the day, there aren't many writers who can keep you up past your bedtime, turning pages (or in my case, pushing the page-forward button on my Kindle) and occasionally chuckling out loud and actually have you truly rooting for various characters, but Wallace does it--and he does it well.
This book is more than worth the purchase and is a definite keeper in my ever expanding e-library.
Well done, Mr. Wallace. Very well done.

This book and the entire duck and cover series wonderful works of action, adventure, and laugh out loud comedy. While Mr. Wallace's writing style is quite unique it is somewhat reminiscent of Douglas Addams.

A fine adventure through the wasteland of North America. Funny in parts, nonsensical in others, the author is definitely aiming for a style similar to Douglas Adams or Terry Pratchett. While he falls short of these very high bars, the book is still a worthwhile read.

A recipe for: Post-Apocalyptic Nomadic Warriors
Mix:
One part Shaun of the Dead
One part Monty Python humor
One part Fallout 3
Oh never mind, there's no recipe for it. You simply can't make this stuff up at home--unless you're Benjamin Wallace. Wallace has written the ultimate popcorn munching summer read. Buy it.

Most definitely look forward to more full length novels from this author! I enjoyed every bit of this one. At first it reminded me a bit of the Fallout series of games and it just got better from there. It's funny, touching, spots of decent action and so on and so forth. For $4 it's easily one of the best reads I've had in quite some time.

Can't say I recall ever reading something called "comic fiction" without it having a host of illustrations telling the story. That being said, it did not read like a comic. It read more like a cousin to a Douglas Adams' story. There was humor with splashes of darkness that made it hard for me to put down. I especially liked the Post-Apocalyptic treatment of Dallas, TX which is quite hilarious due to the vegetation they are about to create on top of a highway there. Oh, the delicious irony! The ending was also a nice touch. My only complaint would be that I wish it were longer -- not because it was too short (it's not), I just was not ready to leave Benjamin's post-apocalyptic world.

An easy, fast-paced read. Several guffaws, smirks, and giggles included in every chapter. My only caveat is that a professional editor/proofreader would greatly improve the flow of prose. But don't let that stop you from picking it up.

I highly recommend this book. I read it during a 12 hour road trip and it really helped to pass the time! Overall, this is a very easy and entertaining read with plenty of plot and interesting characters.

I picked this up because I like post-apocalyptic fiction. As others have noted, it's a quick read. Some of the plot twists are a bit strained, and some suspension of disbelief was involved. Some have pointed out the lack of depth or development of some of the characters, but they're really more like stock characters in those westerns and Sherlock Holmes movies from the 30's, 40's and 50's. Do you like the hero? Check. Is there a suitable villain? Check. Does the action keep it going? Check. Good for an afternoon's entertainment, but not much else.
