Daemon and Katy are slowly warming up romantically to each other. A chance spotting of Bethany has everyone questioning what the DOD are really up to. When a new boy comes to town, he turns Katy's world more upside down than it already is. While this isnt my favorite series in the world, its srill a good read and entertaining enough to want to read to the end.

After being totally in love with Daemon in Obsidian, when Onyx was released what else could I do? Get my hands on this new book as soon as possible, of course.
As everything highly anticipated, it left me a slightly bitter taste. In the first half of the book nothing happens! They flirt, they make out, they think about make out, they burn another computer... honestly it becomes tiresome.
A new boy arrives in an attempt to create a love triangle - which is not possible because, honestly, we're talking about Daemon and if someone is "the atomic bomb of boyfriends"is DAEMON not even Jace.
Why I still love The Lux Series?. Well there is Daemon! and - if needed another reason - after the first half of the book, the plot goes into endless action, a roller coaster .... you think it's all over, but there's more, until it leave you exhausted, in a good way.

OK so this is probably one of my favorite series now. The way the Armentrout sucks you into this world is phenomenal. I mean the minute I had read "Shadows" I knew I was going to be hooked into this series. But now after reading "Onyx" and omg I just didn't want it to end, I don't want to have to wait the continuation of Daemon and Katy's adventures, including Dee who omg I feel so bad for it made me want to cry. And Blake that punk ass, gawd I knew something wasn't right about him, or Will that creep he just seemed to be too good to be true, in any case he was. Then Ash semi-sort of chilling out on Katy, mmhmm what is going on there I wonder. But the ending OMG OMG OMg!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad I don't have to wait like a year for "Opal" to come out, and fortunately is comes out in December it's going to be a killer wait, but fortunately I have other books to keep me occupied, plus school, plus life until then. I JUST LOVE THIS SERIES! I would recommend this series to the dead if I could. =^.^=

Great sequel to Obsidian! Possibly greatest sequel ever! I love, love, love these books! And just so we're clear, I LOVE THESE BOOKS!!! After reading Obsidian, and then Shadows, I expected a lot from Jennifer L. Armentrout, and this series. She did not disappoint! There were so many twists and turns that I did not see coming! I would assume one thing, and then she'd take it a few steps further, surprising the crap out of me!
I liked how Daemon is still a smart ass, and Katy is still denying her feelings for him. It's who they are, and I love when they're fighting just as much as when they're making up! Now, I will admit, there were times when Katy made me so mad with her stupidity. When you know you should speak up, but then you don't? Not smart. But it wasn't often and she had a legitimate excuse most of the time. The things people will go through to protect those they love always make for good story lines, right?
Also, I really enjoyed the sweeter side of Daemon. It wasn't often, but it was awesome! Great book. Great series! CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE!!!

Sweet Baby jesus this book was just fanfreaking tastic... ok lets see the Katy/Deamon stuff is just as hot as Obsidian but it gets deeper... well deamon gets deeper wow.. if you didnt just adore..well he wins your heart all over again..
Katy I just love her she grows up a lot in this book.. shes still spunky and a kick ass chick a little dense at times. this book focuses on the alien connection they share after Deamon healing her in Obsidian. And of course the DoD you get more answers about Dawson and Bethany.
the epic awesomeness of this book is just unreal. Kitten Omg, Deamon .. just AAAAAHH lol .. im good now ... but seriously freaking read this... <3

5 stars simply does not do it justice...
Wow... just wow... Jennifer has taken it to a whole new level I did not think possible. I had all the feels! I was so overloaded with all emotions I'm still in a state of shock. It has taken me a few hours to get my head right enough to write this review. Even then, it is undeserving. It just had it all: I laughed, I raged, I had my "NaawwWWW!" moments where Daemon was being incredibly sweet :) and then I had moments where... Ok, picture this: A girl, in bed, its 1:30am, she's clutching a book in her shaking hands, and she's sobbing heart breaking, gut wrenching, body wracking, soul crushing sobs. Yep, that girl was me. I've never cried throughout a whole book so much before. The raw emotion you are forced to feel is astounding. But there were also happy tears. And I bet you can guess just who was responsible for them.
Like I said, Onyx has taken the Lux series to new and unexpected heights. Daemon is relentless in proving to Kat that what he feels for her is indeed real, and she is relentless in her fight against his charms. I loved how we got to see more of the real Daemon. His sweet and caring side. And his even stronger side. And while we may rage against Kat's stubbornness, us - the reader - we know she's wrong and that yes, she can trust in Daemon because we know that what he feels for her is in fact real. We know that it's been real for him all along. So even though the book is in first person from Kat's POV, I had to keep reminding myself to really look at things from her POV. Because she is honest to God is unsure. And I get her reservations. To a point, that is. I mean come on! How much more does Daemon have to do to prove it to her! Jeez!
In Onyx we get to see more and more of what it's truly like to be a Luxen, and my God, is it awful. The way they have been treated, and still are treated... it is disturbing. My heart broke all over again for them. I was able to understand Ash and Andrew a little more.
And then, there is the intrigue aspect of the story. You honestly don't know the full story until the very end. I mean, yes you do suspect and just know who's implicated and whatnot, but the full back story of just what the hell is going on really doesn't fully unfold until the very end. And I loved that! And the plot thickens so much, you way as well call it... cement!! The story has so much depth added to it, it could go anywhere! Obsidian was extremely light reading. Not Onyx.
MAJOR SPOILER!! Please, PLEASE do not read on unless you've read Onyx. I have marked where it ends. You know the part when I said I was crying uncontrollably and pretty much rocking in a corner? I'm sure you can guess which part I mean if you've read it. Yeah, it was when Adam was killed. I was so shocked! I mean... this is Adam we're talking about! He was so wonderful! And right when him and Dee were FINALLY able to come to terms and sort out their relationship and could finally and honestly be together as a couple and have a true relationship like they deserved. It was worse than when Daemon and Dee were told that Dawson was dead. Because we still had that hope that he was still alive. But with Adam, there was no hope of him coming back. It was final. And it was brutal. He was dead and there was nothing anyone could do. He was gone. Jennifer is a fearless writer. She isn't afraid of making those extremely tough decisions. And I respect that. The guilt and the anguish that Kat feels is fathomless. And that anguish and guilt, coupled with the sheer anger Daemon and the rest of them feel against her is well deserved for her foolish mistakes. Still, she was just trying to do the right thing, and she did the best she thought she could. But because she is loved so unconditionally, so deeply, and even though he is so angry with her, Daemon can find it in his heart to forgive her so that they can move on. Together. So that they can start to heal. That, my friends, is the epitome of divine forgiveness.
And as if that wasn't enough, my heart broke all over AGAIN when Kat and Daemon made it to the house where they were told Dawson was kept and he wasn't even there. Again, hope was crushed. The raw emotion that Daemon felt was devastating. But then, hope always seems to have a way of being rekindled...
END SPOILER
And finally, the cliff-hanger. And boy, what a cliff-hanger it was! And, amazingly, when all seems lost, hope is yet again rekindled. That maybe - just maybe - things were actually going to be ok.
Hopefully... :)

I write reviews for [...], visit us for all things bookish!
Now, I know this post is a bit delayed because we all know that I definitely read Onyx as soon at is was released (8/14). You know when you read a book, and you love it but you aren't sure how to explain what it is you loved about it? Well, I felt I needed to let it soak in, and maybe read it a few more times... So now with the release of Opal just around the corner I really need to get this review up, because people, if you haven't started these books yet you are missing out! That being said, go read the Obsidian, because the rest of this review does contain spoilers, but only for Obsidian. I will not spoil Onyx, I promise!
Onyx starts right where Obsidian left off, huge battle with the Arum remember? So now Kat has all the feelings towards Daemon ( not that she didn't feel something for him before) but she is having trouble discerning if his feelings are genuine or just a side effect of the healing he did. There is so much going on in this book, because while Kat is having this internal and VERY external (ohhhh the chemistry) battle with the draw she feels to Daemon she also has big problems. I loved that she is developing powers, in Obsidian she actually saved the day ( not a weak little girl!!) and I love that her strength is continuing in Onyx. I really recommend reading Shadows before you pick up Onyx because I felt like there was foundation laid down in it that Onyx leans on. As the story carries on, there is some twist and surprise appearances. My stress level was through the roof because it seemed like more kept being revealed and I just needed to know everything would be okay! All the while their relationship was pushing at both Kat and Daemons comfort zones and it was pretty steamy;) I don't want to spoil anything so I'm making this a short review because its very easy to get caught up and say something in excitement. So please everyone go read and then lets talk and gush about this series!

Well, I read this second part since the first book grabbed me so much that I needed to know more about Daemon and Kathy's relationship. This second installment produced closure to some extent. And I don't feel in the need to buy book three immediately. I'll probably wait until Christmas.
The most grabbing thing in this series is definitely the relationship between the main characters. Without it the book could fall apart and that's the reason of why I don't give 5 stars to this book. I read it very fast, Armentrout is an expert for setting a fast pace and for creating good cliffhangers among chapters so that you don't set the book apart for more than a couple of hours, wanting to know more.

Even I will admit it was so frustrating that Katy and Daemon keep fighting their attraction for each other! I understand that Daemon had completely humiliated her but come on, what's the guy to do?
Enter Blake. Hot new surfer guy. I was really hoping he would be a guy for Dee so imagine my horror when Katy showed interest in him and vice versa. Since Daemon had such strong feelings of not trusting him that of course made me not trust him either. I'm betting Katy wished she had listened to him...
I did think that Blake added a lot to the book. He was an antagonist but he also gave us more information about what happened to Katy and what she is now. Even though he's a huge weasel...
The biggest shocker was getting Dawson back...and Katy and Daemon finally admitting their feelings for each other.

Jennnifer L. Armentrout knows what she's doing, Onyx is better than Obsidian and Shadow and I loved every minute of it. Onyx takes off where Obsidian stops and once Onyx starts I swept up in the story and in Dameon. Dameon is back and better than ever, we get to see a different side of Dameon than we did in Obsidian and this time he's chasing Katy and he's not taking no for an answer. Onyx is filled with action, betrayal, loss, love and forgiveness. The twists in this book were great and you don't quite know who to trust till the end, and the end of the book was fantastic it will leave you anxious for Opal and wishing you didn't have to wait for book 3. I can not recommend this book enough. December can't come quick enough, I can't wait to read Opal!

Review: This book was fabulous! I initially wasn't sure i'd like this series considering i'm not big on sci-fi and fantasy, as you know from my reviews i'm a romance girl. But i am so glad i picked this one up and the second book was just as good as the first! This one really dove into the budding romance between Daemon and Katy as well as the DOD and what they want from the Luxen and now Katy since she's found herself entwined with the aliens. It really hits deeply on why Daemon is the way he is and also proves to us that his affections for Katy are real and not just due to the connection they have. This was a great continuation and i have high hopes for the final three books in the series, especially since what happened at the end on this book, mmmm it's gonna be so good!!
What I Liked: Daemon was a million times more likable in this one since we were given the chance to see his more vulnerable side, Daemon also proves that he does love Katy, truly and deeply and would do anything to protect her and keep her away from harm. I kind of love the Arum also, they are a very cool antagonist and I also liked te DOD and their shady practice coming to light. The events of this book really set the characters up for a really thrilling next book and I just can't wait I read about it all. The path of the relationships in this book are so realistic, to me atleast nothing feels rushed or pushed to be something it's not. JLA is a master at relationship and character development. Also, DAWSON!?!?!?!?! BETH!?!?!?! WHAT!?!?!?!
What I Didn't Like: We said goodbye to one of our beloved characters in this book, it hurt so badly. I can't help but think in the next three books that we're going to lose so many more characters we know and love, i am not looking forward to that at all.

Daemon saved Katy's life and altered it forever. and she's not even sure she likes him. but he is her drug, as she is his. and if she can get over her inability to tell him the truth, maybe they can figure out what's going on before the Arum do.
I think Katy was always destined to be different. and i like that that is so. i'm looking forward to seeing her grow

Liked the first book; seemed like a promising series. I did not care for this book because the heroine is too annoying for words!! Her stupidity absolutely ruined it for me. I almost didn't finish this book and I am still debating on wether I will read the next.

Who doesn't loooooove Daemon??? He reminds me so much of my husband, minus the who alien thing.
You are kept on the edge of your seat with this installment as Katy sees someone she never thought she would and meets a new guy.
*Spoiler*
One thing that I didn't like; that's right, I have one thing. Katy really should listen to Daemon more.... <.< LoL! I get the stubborn head thing, I'm stubborn, but even I thought Daemon was right when he was telling Katy to stay away from Blake, and I didn't think it was just jealousy.

Oh my freakin' alien!! This just keeps getting better and better! I can't even tell you how much I love Daemon!! Especially when he's not being a complete assmunch, which actually happened way more than I expected it to this time! And dang, that boy is hot enough to melt the polar ice caps when he turns on the charm! And Katy, as always, is a strong, stubborn, badass bookworm!! She is seriously the only one who can take everything Daemon dishes out & throw it right back at him! The interaction between the two of them is even more intense & electrifying than ever! Get ready for shocking & devastating moments mixed with moments of passion that will knock your striped socks off!!

I LOVED the first Lux novel, Obsidian, and devoured it in a night. I even give it 5 stars. and I loved the second novella and could not wait to start Onyx. But I have been let down in a major way by the heroine. She was TSTL to the point that she pretty much is responsible for several deaths -- and not bad guy deaths. Friend and classmate deaths. And we're supposed to forgive her for this? To still like her? It was hard to read this, as she made one stupid decision after another, despite SO many obvious clues that what she was doing was just STUPID. Despite her KNOWING what she was doing was ridiculously foolish. Like when she up and goes to Vaughn's house ALONE after railing at Daemon not to go there-- after nearly being raped and killed at that house a few nights before ( and that was because she stupidly got out of the car and tried to go into the house when Daemon had expressly told her not to, which resulted in her attack and Daemon having to come to her rescue and kill the two guards-- all because Daemon didn't answer her text in a timely fashion. DUMB.). I could go on and on, listing all the stupid crap she does that causes so many dreadful problems for everyone. But that would pretty much be every scene in the book.
SURELY the author could have come up with a better way of driving the plot forward without making the heroine look like such a fool. I can't think of another heroine that has disappointed me more. Even Bella Swan in Twilight wasn't such an idiot! I liked Katy SO much in Obsidian, so this book was a real downer. Even her treatment of Daemon, who consistently bears his heart to her in this book, and who provides her with legitimate reasons for his cold behavior when they first met (i.e. his brother's MURDER, for heaven's sake), was a let down. She really treats him shabbily throughout the book and doesn't listen to all of the ACCURATE warnings he gives her. Apparently, his saving her life at the end of Obsidian, and the thoughts she hears in his head conveying how much she means to him -- not to mention that kiss-- were not enough for this girl.
"You should have trusted me," he said at the end of this book. Yeah. She should have done that, for starters. And using her brain wouldn't have hurt either. The only reason I didn't give this a one star was because of Daemon. His hotness alone is at least worth one star, though I wonder how he could stand Katy after all the crap she puts him through in this book. I know I couldn't bear her by the end. I don't think I even want to read the next book. That's how horrible a taste this one left in my mouth.

Again...the practically never ending angst...omg. If it weren't for loving the storyline I probably would have quit reading. At least they finally get their heads on straight, although Katy annoys me sometimes on how she has to be so contradictory most of the time.

What a sequel to Obsidian!! Once again, the chemistry between Daemon and Katy is great...then tension sizzles. I was a bit disappointed in Katy and Blake, but it turned out in the end.
Speaking of the end...WOW. Armentrout does a spectacular job in bringing in the conspiracy with the DOD and the plot has good twists and turns.
Overall, this series has knocked my socks off. I've been very happy with all 3 of the books so far, and it's going to be very hard to wait another 2 months for Opal to come out. One concern...it doesn't show that Opal will be available on the Kindle??? Seriously?? Please change that in the next 2 months!

I loved Obsidian, and got sucked into the merging relationship between Daemon and Kat - the alien thing was really secondary. But this book, really took my breath away!! It gave me all the right feelings that you get from a favorite book. The angst, oh the angst and frustration - could have slapped Kat a few times!! But Daemon...Oh Daemon!! The essential protective, alpha male. Gorgeous, strong, and absolutely crazy to protect the girl he loves. Yes, they gave me all those feelings... The ending, not giving anything away, brings this adventure to a new level about family, can't wait.

REVIEW
I fear I am forming an obsession ! Jennifer L. Armentrout Has drawn me in and life will never be the same . I love the characters the insults and oh I just love the whole thing , this one ( onyx) picked up right where Obsidian left off and forget beating around the bush your straight back into the thick of it. A very swoon-worthy book and fast becoming my favorite ya series of 2012 .. I am more than a little devastated that the 3rd installment ( Opal -Lux #3) isn't out until early December .. I have that end of the world feeling while I await more greatness from this fantastic author !

Let's get something straight - the first book in this series is amazing. The banter is witty, the characters likeable, and the story interesting.
This book is none of those things. The banter is pretty much gone entirely, the characters have turned into complete idiots, and the story has become painfully predictable. I spent most of this book annoyed at just about everything everyone did or didn't do, and ended up skipping entire paragraphs because it was just SO OBVIOUS what was going to be said and done, I wanted to get it over with.

I was actually sitting the fence on this one after I read Obsidian. I liked Obsidian but wasn't sure if I liked it enough to read the next. After reading this book, I am definitely still sitting the fence. These are YA books meant for teenage girls who are fascinated with romance. While I have read thousands of romance books, I still am not hooked on the girl fantasy. Take the romance parts out though and the book was a good read. Now I have to decide if I want to read the next book Opal.

I just love Jennifer Armentrout's style of writing and Onyx is one amazing example of her work. Intense in both the action and the suspense of a budding romance you will fall even more in love with Daemon through Katy's eyes while also learning even more about the Luxen and the world in which they live. Armentrout has created a powerful and unique universe with the Luxen that makes you want more the second the last page is turned. She definitely satisfies you with this story but still somehow leaves you craving more!! LOVE HER AND CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK!

The book is packed with action, romance, suspense, humor, sarcasm, teenage drama and pen pokes. Daemon Black is still hot and sarcastic but he is less of a douchebag in this book. He is open about his feelings for Katy and is ready to do anything to protect her.
Katy, on the other hand, is an idiot. She keeps fighting her feelings for Daemon, makes few stupid mistakes and ends up getting them all in trouble. I was a bit irritated with Katy but then realized if she dint make any mistakes there wouldn't be any drama.
The story would have been average if not for the fantastic writing by Jennifer Armentrout. The conversation between the characters is entertaining and tension between Katy and Daemon is exciting.
Only thing I hated about this book is the cliffhanger ending. I cannot wait for Opal, the next book in the series.

I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!! And I love the author :) OMG where to begin. Okay heartbreaking, romance, love, hate, humor, this series has it ALL! Except for the graphic sex scenes and I forgive that because it is for YA. Well I need to throw in a tiny pray, if I ever meet an Alien pleaseeee God send me a Daemon. I so felt his love, devotion, anger, and heartache. LOVED IT ALL. And I never knew so many men's names that start with the letter B or F in one case FLAKE hahaha. Now that was clever, cracked me up, and absolutely fit his personality.
I SO RECOMMEND THIS SERIES.

Katy's universe was turned upside down the moment she met her next-door-neighbour, Daemon Black and became friends with his twin sister, Dee. Katy was already undergoing enough change in her life, what with her father dying recently and her mum moving them from Florida to West Virginia. But then Katy met the Black siblings and not only was her universe turned upside down, it also got a whole lot bigger . . . because Katy uncovered the truth about Daemon and Dee, and most of the inhumanly beautiful residents of her sleepy new town. Katy discovered that many of the people populating this quiet, Podunk town are in fact aliens. Not only that, they're aliens in the middle of an intergalactic game of cat and mouse against a villainous race called the Arum, not to mention they're also under close surveillance by the Department of Defense (DOD) who may or may not be so interested in them for military gains.
Katy has become doubly embroiled in this alien mess, after she and Daemon formed a special, visceral bond that lets her feel where he is at all times, and start to develop a few inhumanly interesting abilities of her own. . .
`Onyx' is the second book in Jennifer L. Armentrout's young adult paranormal romance series, `Lux'.
I read the first book in Armentrout's new series, `Obsidian', back in May this year and loved it. It was a deliciously over-the-top YA paranormal romance with a different flavour of supernatural that really hooked me and had me excited for this new `Lux' series. So I went into `Onyx' with very high hopes for a similar thrill-ride read.
This second book picks up immediately where `Obsidian' left off. After facing-off against an Arum attack and saving his life, Katy has formed an odd and physical connection with Daemon Black. This connection is unnerving for a few reasons - partly due to Daemon running hot and cold with Katy, who is distraught at her own influx feelings for him. Secondly, the connection seems to be having some very strange, alien side-effects on Katy. But while Katy and Daemon try to find their footing in the wake of this strange bond, a new boy called Blake arrives at school to throw yet another spanner in the works - when he shows a keen attraction to Katy, but also seems to have a few too many coincidences surrounding his arrival in town, right when the DOD also make an appearance.
I've got to admit; this second book hit a few potholes for me and didn't live up to expectation (much as I hate to admit it!). To begin with, I didn't really like Katy and found her to be a very different heroine than the one I met in `Obsidian'. In that first book I praised Katy for not turning into a puddle before Daemon Black's God-like good looks and jerk-face behaviour. I loved that Katy was a girl not to be trampled, and she really held her own and enjoyed sparring with Daemon and not letting him get too full of himself. The Katy in `Onyx' seemed to be a changed woman, not necessarily for the better. Remembering that Katy is also a book blogger and reviewer (with a particular love for all things urban fantasy/paranormal) I found a few of her missteps in `Onyx' to be a little befuddling. There were just a few times when she did just plain stupid things where the DOD and Blake were concerned, and I thought she was a smarter heroine than that. But it was more in her interactions with Daemon that she let me down - there were just so many times when I thought she was making more relationship drama than was necessary. A lot of this book seemed to be a back-and-forth for Katy where she was one moment thinking "I love Daemon. But I can't tell him" to "I've ruined everything with Daemon. I don't know what to say to him". I thought she was quite a witty, articulate girl in `Obsidian' - so there were a few instances where she let me down and I missed her smart repartee with Daemon.
I also felt like `Onyx' was a lot lighter on plot than `Obsidian' was. Admittedly, the first book of any paranormal/urban fantasy series is usually the one with the most going on - because all the supernatural aspects have mystery surrounding them, followed by clues and then a big reveal. `Onyx' was very much focused on the Katy/Daemon merry-go-round, and a rock-solid plot with the DOD didn't really become apparent until late in the second-half. Admittedly, there's a great set-up for the third book established by `Onyx's' end, but for me there was a lot of this book that just felt like high-school relationship drama and didn't live up to my supernatural expectations. And because this was so much the `Katy & Daemon Show', other characters who I'd come to really like in `Obsidian' were given little page-time and no further development - like Dee and mean-girl (and Daemon's ex) Ash. I wish Armentrout had included more of the alien characters in this book, to get an idea of their community and for Katy to interact with them more.
Armentrout obviously knew she was on to a winner with the Katy/Daemon relationship, so `Onyx' is really only about them, them, them. I suppose a lot of readers will be thrilled with this, but for me I thought Armentrout's alien race (a great change of pace from the usual werewolves/vampires/angels in the supernatural genre at the moment) was one of the reasons that `Lux' piqued my interest in the first place, so I was disappointed not to have more of a focus on the world-building in `Onyx'. But, again, towards the end of the novel I felt like Katy and Daemon's relationship woes converged with the wider DOD/alien arc, and became far more interesting for it.
Look, I still enjoyed `Onyx' and was eager to get to the end of the book to know what happens. And, credit where credit's due, Armentrout gets bonus points for a great Buffy reference (bonus, because it was the original 1992 movie with Donald Sutherland she made a point of referencing. Nice.) But for me, this book had too much romance and not enough paranormal - some people will love that fact, but I felt like it meant plot fell by the wayside and Armentrout's wonderful world-building and supernatural build-up in `Obsidian' deflated a bit in `Onyx'. There is a great set-up for the third book that ensures I'll be returning to the series in December, but `Onyx' was a small disappointment for me.

A BAZILLION STARS
5 stars the store! Really? That's all I can give this book! I think they need to add a new rate for books made of pure awesomeness.
I was looking down at the end of my kindle screen at the percentage button & a little bit of me died inside every time I got close to the end!
I think I was grinning away to myself like an idiot on the bus, in the cafe and in work when I was hiding it under my to-do list (which didn't get done!)!
I literally cannot wait for Opal. I'll just have to do a couple of re-reads in the meantime!

I waited, not so patiently, for this book and when it finally arrived I read it in two days. I love the main characters. They are real and well written. I don't normally read books about aliens but I can definitely get down with the Lux chronicles. It has a healthy dose of every necessary emotion you can dream of for a good book. I enjoyed it all. Even though sometimes I wanted Kat to get a clue I knew that it wouldn't have been such a nail biting read if she would have gotten with the program early on. This sequel was the greatest birthday gift to myself ever! Thanks Jen

I loved Obsidian, the first book in the series, so I bought this before I even finished book one knowing I would love this one too. I was so not disappointed! Katy's lead female character is strong and dynamic, something that makes this much better than similar novels I have read in the genre, and Daemon is definitely a desireable male lead that is complex enough to not rely solely on his physical appearance to carry the story. The conclusion was satisfying and still left me excited to continue with book three, Opal.

Wonderful addition to this series! Daemon just gets more swoon-worthy as the story progresses despite his occasional jerk moments. I loved how complex the world of the Lux is and the way that JLA is slowly revealing the key details. The main reason that I gave this one a lower rating than the previous book is Katy. I still like and admire her, but I thought she made some stupid decisions in this book. Hopefully, the consequences will make her think twice in the next installment.

This book is amazing. I had read many reviews and mentions on Facebook and it caught my attention. I was so glad that I took a chance and bought the first book in the series. Dang, Armentrout did it again! I love the sense of humor she puts into her writing! The struggle was real through this book. The angsty romance between Deamon and Katy had me on the edge of my seat and finally towards the end when they end up admitting their feelings, everything just takes a turn for the crazy! Through the book, we know Dawson has to be alive but I'm weary of what this means. I'm also a bit sad about Adam dying and what that means for Dee. She's such a good friend to Katy and such a good person that she doesn't deserve how she's being treated. I have a feeling that more big twists are on their way with the rest of the series.

Holy Alien babies!!! Jennifer L. Armentrout doesn't dissapoint in the second book and definately leaves you hanging and wanting more. Daemon and Katy are at each other's throats again and all I have to say is that their relationship (if that is what you can call it) are electrifyingly explosive together! More secrets are revealed, Blake is a new hottie that enters Katy's life and makes things even more complicated. Once again, I couldn't put this book down. Looking forward to the next book!

I recommend this series to anyone who likes to get wrapped up in books and forget about reality for a little while. I have enjoyed the series and would recommend it to others. I have read all three of the series and the only thing I don't like is the way it ended. It just can't end that way. You are left hanging. That means another book........sometime. I don't like having to wait for another publication so I can find out what happened to the characters.

I was intrigued after reading the first book and bought the second based on reviews that the second was better. I found the second to be lacking what I originally loved about the first book. However the cliff hanger at the end of this one really made me want to buy the 3rd, but do not know if I can invest my time in another disappointment. Maybe I will take a break and come back to it.

I love this series!! These books are so well written. I love a series where you can not stop thinking about what will happen and anticipate the moment when you can pick the book back up again. My only complaint, I guess, is that it was either this book or the next one in the series that had soooooo many typos. As in it was not edited/proofread at all. Maybe it was just the version on my kindle (not sure how the software works) but it was incredibly annoying! Other than that I am now on the last book and hope I can find a series just as good as this one!

Sorry but Katy character is simply not needed. She distracts from the storey and there is simply no one as dumb. The author really needs to pull back when writing new books. At first it was understand a bias but its simply too much.

Jennifer does it again! This is the second book in the Lux series and I could put it down. This is a sneak-a-read-wherever you can kind of book. I have to admit Daemon and Kat's stubbornness had me going crazy but I knew if I waited it out, I would be rewarded and boy was I. Don't wait anymore but this book!
