Jennifer Armentrout is one of my "auto buy" and most owned authors. Her writing style is addicting and I've always found her novels, whether Young Adult or New Adult, to be enjoyable-even if they are formulaic. That being said, Frigid was a HUGE disappointment and the absolute worst of Armentrout's novels that I've read (possibly one of the worst novels I've read period). The characters are annoying and lack depth, and the plot is one hundred percent predictable. There was absolutely no question as to who the stalker was and I found myself wondering if she even tried.

It pains me to give an Armentrout book 1 star, but there's no way this deserves anything higher. Borrow this from the library if you really want to read it, but I'd say to just skip this one altogether.

Jennifer never fails to leave me breathless and wanting more, and Frigid is no exception. She is a wonderful story teller, and crafts heroines that are easy to relate to and although they have their flaws, they are strong people and these boys that are protective, sexy, charming and swoon worthy.
Frigid is in dual narration but we spend the majority of the time in Sydney's head. The glimpses into Kyler's head though bring a lot to the table, and helps get both sides of the story.
I love how far back Sydney and Kyler's friendship goes, and the mostly easy going banter and nature between them, but you can quickly tell that there is a lot of sexual tension brewing under the surface but they are both afraid to speak up because they don't want to ruin their friendship and lost the other person. Due to this non-communication there are some remarks on both sides that are completely taken the wrong way and hurt ensues, but even with this, it adds a realistic and emotional side to the story.
I love all the awkward positions they find themselves in and Sydney's dry sense of humor, and watch out for mailboxes when she's drunk. Some of her one liners had me cracking up and trying to die of laughter without waking up my husband.
Some of the scenes are intense and had me blushing, so def for mature new adults or those who can handle it. It had me breathless and wanting to curse when the scene was inevitably interrupted.
The mystery and danger that were an element in this one I was totally not expecting but I think it was handled and written really well.

Bottom Line: Breath taking! Hot romance and great characters.

Good read. Best friends turned lovers. Kylers a man whore and Syd tried to hide her feelings over the years but when they get stranded in a storm things start to get hot and heavy. And to top it off, someone is terrorizing them. Now they just have to make it out alive. And admit their feelings for each other. Very enjoyable read.

The fabulous love scenes bumped this up from 1 star to 2. Unfortunately, they are the only thing this book has going for it IMO.

Sydney and Kyler are supposed to be BEST FRIENDS. Despite this, Sydney manages to think the worst of Kyler at every turn in the book. And when something happens around the 80% mark, she blames it all on Kyler. I wanted to shake her. If she thinks that poorly of him, she shouldn't be friends with him. And it infuriated me further that Kyler just accepts the blame without any anger over Sydney's misconceptions. Ugh!

I really enjoyed this book. Sydney and Kyler were great together as friends and as more. I liked the little mystery/suspence twist thrown in, and I actually enjoyed how it affected their relationship.
The intimate scenes were great. J. Lynn has a way of building the scene up without getting too trashy and I love that. My only wish was that there was more to the story once we got to the end. Hopefully a spin off for Tanner--what are those boy's secrets?? And in that we can get more of Sydney and Kyler's story--just a suggestion, J. Lynn.

Definitely not frigid......the chemistry runs hot for Sydney and Kyler. Story begins Sydney had feelings for Kyler, her best friend. She feels lime he just likes her as a friend. They go away for winter break, get stranded alone in a snowstorm and then the fun begins. I really lime Sydney's character. She's so much stronger than she thinks but comes off really sweet and caring. Kyler is a man slut yet I really found him enduring and he would do anything for Sydney. Won't regret this buy.

It was okay. I liked the characters and their relationship together but overall the story-line wasnt too interesting. I did not hate it and there were parts I did really enjoy. I also didn't expect the story to take a twist from romance to a little bit of a thriller- which I liked.

Sydney and Kyler have been inseparable since they were kids. They have always been there for each other. But as they got older, feelings got more intense. And both were afraid to admit them or ruin their friendship.

(Quote)No one could replace me in his life. I knew that. I was the friend who knew everything about him and whom he trusted above everyone else. I was Kyler's best friend. And because of that, he would never love me the way I loved him.

(Quote)Sydney was perfect--he actual embodiment of the perfect woman. She was practically pristine and fresh. She untouchable. She was everything to me. I'd spent the better part of my life trying not to f*** up for Syd, and yet somehow failing miserably.

I loved all of the facets of this book. They way they cared for each other, the unique story line, the suspense, the longing, and the emotion. Their feelings were raw, their chemistry was intense and you could feel the need and insecurities between them. She felt completely insecure, awkward, and thought there was no way he could like her more than a friend. And besides he had a still has hordes of woman all over him. And he does not feel good enough for her and puts her on an unattainable pedestal. It is easier to hide his feelings under meaningless encounters with no emotions involved. But I loved his protectiveness over her.

The two of them were a functional mess. There was a lot of back and forth with the characters inner monologues not matching their outward actions and words as they hid what they really felt for each other. It takes being snowed in alone on vacation with challenges and danger lurking about to finally expose all of their secrets and desires.

"Everything, baby, you deserve everything."

(Quote)In reality, even though I'd been with everyone else, I'd always been Syd's.

But once it is all over and they return home...will they still be friends, more, or nothing at all?

I really liked both Sydney and Kyler despite their flaws. She was guarded, awkward, controlled and a bit naive. Kyler was bossy, sexy, and charismatic, but he also had a vulnerability to him regarding Syd. The transition as they began to truly communicate was tentative, fragile, and then explosive. Once together they were hot, sweet, and emotional. Their connection was deeply ingrained in them and added a depth to their feelings.

I love this author's writing style. It flows, it all draws you in, and it makes you love her characters. I liked the added suspense, intrigue, and danger in this one and it kept me on the edge. The snow storm background was interesting and added even more issues. I am glad we got both points of view because that was definitely needed in this story. I enjoyed this sweet stand alone read. But I do think that their friends Tanner and Andrea have potential for their own story as well since they seem to have a complicated un-relationship

An amazing writer! Favorite author--period! Plot is interesting, interaction hot & sexy. Best part is the characters are amazing and their dialogue memorable--the story just jumps off the page! Wow! Amazingly well written...You'll want to enjoy this book over and over again! If you really enjoy this author, you might want to check out books under her real name, Jennifer Armentrout. She writes YA books filled with out of this world high adventure but it's just truly solid gold romance!

Loved Kyler and Sidney. These two have been best friends since they were little kids. Each secretly loved the other, but assumed it was one sided. It takes them being stranded for Sidney to finally make a move for them to realize they each felt the same way. Of course, there is drama, but afterwards, you get a sweet HEA that is so heartfelt and there is no cliffhanger.

Really good, sweet book that I would recommend to anyone.

The "being in love with your best friend" angle was been done. A lot. However J Lynn has put her own spin on it and I found this book a very interesting read I didn't want to put down until the end. I loved the fact it was from the POV of both characters. And while I was able to guess where the action scenes in the book would go I was still happily surprised with the details of them.

I really found myself rooting for these two!

Yes, the plot is something you've read from before - manwhore, best friend, unrequited love (or so it seems) but it was written well and there was some added suspense to shake things around. It was an enjoyable read, characters Kyler and Sydney were so likeable that you just want to root for them. Plus, reading a Christmas themed story outside of Christmas makes one quite nostalgic...

I really enjoyed this book... It was well written and I liked the POV. I really liked the story and the added mystery and action was great. It was steamy (which I loved!!) and I love the friends to lovers story!! They are alway really easy to believe especially when the written characters are as good as they are here. I highly recommend this book!!

What an amazing story!! This is a love story between Kyler and Sydney! These two are best friends who have been best friends since they were kids. Kyler is a sexy hunk of man and all the girls want a piece of him, unfortunately many have had a piece of him. Sydney knows how Kyler is, he just sleeps with girls and then moves on to the next one. It sucks for her because she has been in love with him forever but won't tell him because she doesn't want to ruin their friendship.

Kyler is driving him and Syd to the house for skiing and snowboarding, they go every year and the rest of the gang is coming up too. Kyler and Syd finally get to the house. The snow has been picking up which caused problems for Kyler and Syd and has caused problems for the rest of the group. Tanner, Kyler's friend calls to let them know they turned around because the snowstorm is too bad. So now Kyler and Syd are going to be at the house by themselves for a few days to wait out the storm.

Kyler and Syd decide to go out for a little bit and Syd definitely drank too much and her true feelings started to come out toward Kyler, but he didn't hold them against her because she was drunk. Syd feels that Kyler would never want her and its hurts her pretty deep, where Kyler feels that he could never deserve Syd that she is too good for him. They run into a little trouble with the townies but shake it off only to have it come back to haunt them.

With Kyler and Syd stuck in the house with little power, sparks start to fly and feelings start to come out more and more. The closer they get the harder it may be to leave and go home.

They do have some issues with heating and a window and even a snowmobile but will it be enough to overcome and make it out alive.

Can they open up about their feelings and work toward the future or should they have kept it in the dark and just remained best friends?

This was an amazing story and oh how I love the snowbunnies and ninja mailboxes!!! Definitely a must read!!!!

Kyler & Sydney have been friends forever. Now on their senior year college winter break, they end up spending days alone. A blizzard has stranded them in Kyler's mother's ski home.
I enjoyed e story & the plot kept me reading. The secondary characters were entertaining & added to the story. I've enjoyed other stories written by Jennifer L. Armentrout, and will look forward to more.

I read every book this wonderful woman writes and Frigid was another masterpiece. I fell in love with Kyler from the first chapter and I’m incredibly happy with how this story turned out. I finished it in less than 24 hours and it was well worth the lost hours of sleep.

I really want enjoy the whole friends or frenemies turn lovers plot so that aspect of the book was great. I didn't enjoy the cliche drama where the big misunderstanding centered around the main characters obvious flaw. I still enjoyed the story despite all the obvious plot devices.

I was eager to read this book, after devouring Wait For You, but it paled in comparison. It had potential and I thought it was just off to a slow start because things perked up midway, but then kinda fizzed out. I also thought the writing was a bit hurried with some editing opportunities. Were they wearing jeans or sweats? It seemed to be both in the same scene...hmn??

I was very disappointed in this book; did not get past the first few pages. Put it in my archived items. Would love to have deleted it completely especially since I was supposed to have gotten free and got charged for it!!! Too much sexual stuff in it.

Frigid is sexy romance story which frustrated the hell out of me but still, I could not put it down until I finished it!

Sydney is really nice but uptight 21 years old girl who is in love with her best friend Kyler. It pains her to see him man-whore his way at college but her feelings for him are only getting stronger. She thinks she doesn't stand a chance and she doesn't want to ruin their friendship.

Kyler doesn't care about countless girls she slept with but he does care for his best friend Sydney. However, he tries to persuade himself that he is not good enough for her but he still has this urger to "protect" her from every potential suitor.

What happens when only two of them get stuck in a ski resort, cut off from the rest of the world for couple of days?

I wasn't sure what to think of Kyler at the beginning. He was arrogant and so full of himself. But fortunatelly, this book is written in dual POV and seeing things from his perspective definitely helped a lot. But still, idea of hero sleeping with 90% of girls he comes in contact with did not sound that much appealing for me... However, through out the story he charmed his way into my heart and I ended up liking him a lot!

Syd was a very naive girl. Like really girly unexperienced naive. But since she realized that denial didn't work and she grew some "lady balls" I really liked her.

Frigid was full of suppressed feelings, sexual frustration and plenty of jelaousy. There was drama, angst and some sexy parts too and I definitely enjoyed this book a lot. You can never go wrong with J. Lynn/Jennifer L. Armentrout!

One of my new favorite authors! So many books out right now seem to gloss right over character development to get right into the story but Frigid does not. I loved learning the history between the characters and their current state of mind. It was just wonderful and I am absolutely looking forward to reading more of her novels.

I enjoyed this book and had a difficult time putting it down! About a third of the way through I was pretty captivated. I loved the relationship development and the sweet details this author never leaves out. I especially like all the West Virginia references and settings she chooses for her books...since I am from there as well! She is my favorite author!

Once again I waited patiently for this to come down in price, finally bought it, and was so very disappointed in it I could not finish it. I felt no connection with the characters, it just fell flat for me.

Love Jennifer Armentrout, I have read everything she has written and I have to say this was a quick read but I really enjoyed it. Sometimes you need a break from all the angsty books and this was a nice change. I liked the characters and the story line, well written.....would have oved an epilogue but otherwise I was fully satisfied!!!

J Lynn is fast becoming one of my favorite Authors. I love her quirky writing style. Her stories are genuine. I like the fact that this story is local for me. The story of Sydney and Khmer was sweet. Obstacles had to be crossed but they got passed it.

Tyler and Had grew up together, best friends...but since they don't come clean to each other about their feelings...they waste a lot of time !!! One snow storm, one deranged local and life changes!!! Great love story..and lesson about being open with your "friends"!!!

J. Lynn (aka Jennifer Armentrout) is the master at creating witty banter and likeable characters. I don't think she is capable of writing something bad. My only complaint is that it dragged a little at times. Otherwise, this was a fabulous book.

Jennifer has done it again!!! She pulled me in with her amazing characters and wonderful story line!! I do not think that Ms. Armentrout could write anything that I wouldn't like? If you are a fan of Jennifer's other books, then you need to pick this one up too! I guarantee you a great read!!

One if my favourite contemporary romances ever, J.Lynn's story-telling is always amazing! Sucks you right into the story and you're in deep without even knowing it until you're swooning, crying and screaming with the characters that you've fallen in love with. Don't miss out!
