Gave this book to my mother as a Hanukkah present. She was hysterical and showed it to all her friends. Not only is this book funny for any avid 50 Shades reader, but the recipes are scrumptious. My dad even ended up cooking with it! Makes for interesting conversation.

Fifty Shades of Chicken: A Parody in a Cookbook opens with the genius dedication, "For chicken lovers everywhere," and just gets lewder from there. In addition to being a parody of "Fifty Shades of Grey"-style erotica written from the perspective of a young hen, "Fifty Shades of Chicken" is also a lavishly illustrated cookbook in its own right. With titles like "Plain Vanilla Chicken" and "Steamy White Meat," the recipes are what makes this book more than a one-note joke or gag gift (pun intended). If only more cookbooks were this profane.

Purchased this unique book for a friend of mine who enjoyed reading the 50 Shades of Gray books. What a hysterical gift! Once I received it, I wished I had purchased one for myself! Clever & Cute!

I gave this book as a Christmas gift and almost didn't want to give it away. The recipes look delicious but simple. I don't believe there are any that are more then 5 steps. At the gift exchange everyone had fun reading the various write-ups before each recipe. I can't wait for my friend's first dinner party when we can try one of the recipes.

I read cookbooks from cover to cover, just as I would read a novel. There was only one fault I could find --- it is much too short! It definately left me wishing for more!
Please tell me tbere is more to follow!

Very funny bunch of recipes in the terms of sexy good fun. All tongue in cheek except for the recipes. They are great tasting and relatively easy to prepare. Makes the chore of cooking a much more pleasnt (and arousing?) experience.

I got this for my boyfriend (but mostly me) for Christmas (shhhh) because chicken is item #1 on his diet and I get bored with it so easily. I haven't had a chance to try the recipes yet but I'm sitting here reading this and it's just WONDERFUL. I don't even care if the recipes suck (which is doubtful because they look delightful and well thought out) because the writing itself is just amazing and I can't read it with a straight face. I'm so, so excited with this purchase.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my sister-in-law and she died laughing. She loves to cook, she loves the original Fifty Shades and now she Loves her new cook book.

This is definitely a gift that keeps on giving!

Even if you didn't read "50 Shades" the suggestive chicken pictures in this book are clever, hot, and get you to laugh. Recipes are legit and good even, but after giving this to 6 people for Christmas, they all called to say what grown-up fun this book is!

This is a great way to get friends to come over and cook. Okay, so they're mostly female. And to any of the other few males out there looking for a good chicken cookbook, honestly this one is top notch. I've tried about 4 recipes so far, and each one of them has been delicious. Good place to start if you're just foraying into the realm of cooking like me.

I haven't read 50 Shades of Grey, so probably a lot of the parody escaped me. But that's fine because I really like the recipes. I've made a half dozen of them so far, and my family has loved them--even the picky 10-year-old. Most of the recipes are pretty simple to make and eschew long ingredients lists. A lot of them are very quick to make too, which is perfect on weeknights.
And a buff shirtless guy is pictured trussing the chicken.

I gave this book to a girlfriend of mine for Christmas and both her and her boyfriend thought it was hilarious and loved it! The pictures, recipes, and parody are a great buy! Plus it came much quicker than estimated and was packed well.

I purchased this as a second part of a Dirty Santa gift and it went over like gang busters. The back of the book was read aloud and everyone was laughing. I later received a note from the giftee that not only did she have fun reading it but it looked as though the recipes would be good.

The parodies are funny as advertised but beyond that this is a wonderful cookbook. The recipes are generally divided into easy, moderate, and fairly complex. Unlike most other cookbooks the recipes are divided accurately and are easy to follow. The easy and moderate recipes in particular are notable for using ingredients generally already on hand in most kitchens. Just a wonderful buy and the hard back is well constructed. Will try some of the others.

THE AUTHOR DID AN AMAZINGLY CREATIVE JOB AT WRITING THIS COOKBOOK. IT IS INFORMATIVE, HAS VERY GOOD RECIPES IN IT AND IT IS SUPER FUN TO READ! CERTAINLY ONE OF THE BEST GIFTS FOR SOMEONE WHO ENJOYS COOKING, ENJOYS READING, OR IN MY PARTICULAR CASE, AS A GIFT FOR SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT ENJOY READING BUT WILL ENJOY READING THIS COOKBOOK WHILE THEY COOK!

Bought 3 copies of this cookbook after seeing the author on a TV talk show. I gave them as Christmas gifts and everyone loved it. Haven't heard about the recipes but like the way the book was laid out and the clever recipe titles.

Laughed seeing the video and few pictures the store gave of the product. Bought it for our HR group Christmas white elephant exchange! When I came I skimmed through it all and was laughing too hard. I don't want to give it away, might need to buy myself a copy.

If you read and loved 50 Shades of Grey, if you love cooking then this book is for you! It had me laughing in tears. The story is funny and it will tickle you pink, while leaving your dinner guests in food induced orgasmic ecstasy. A MUST have in every kitchen. A great laugh. Although I do not care to read the real 50 Shades book, I dig comedy and this parody cookbook is exquisitely well done.

I even found two great recipes and transferred them to respective and respectable index cards.

This cookbook is a hoot. It was purchased for an 82 year old Grandmother, who is a fan of the 50 Shades of Grey movies and books. She figures at her age she's entitled to some naughtiness. We have never seen her laugh so hard as she did when she received this book and a frozen chicken so she could try a recipe from it for her birthday. She could not wait to call her same age friend to tell her about her birthday presents of this cookbook and the frozen chicken. A great gift for a 50 Shades of Grey fan.

This book has some really great recipes in it. I have used several and will offer the book to my local 'poultry market' soon. I have purchased several copies to give to friends. How can you not??? I like simple recipes that do not require me to go to a big city to purchase obscure items. The pictures are beyond wonderful....quite inspirational I would say. Dare I say...tongue in cheek? If I don't roll my eyes...

I pre-ordered this book (actually a dozen of them) for x-mas. All were spoken for before I even got my order! I made little gift bags with the book, a bottle of wine, white apron and a lil knife. Can't wait for the reviews! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this cookbook!

Bought a couple of copies to give as gifts but will purchase one for myself after the holidays. If you have read (or tried to read) the unintentionally comically written 50 Shades books, you will love this. Great recipes introduced in the spirit of the novels. Wickedly delicious.

This book incorporates all of the little inside jokes from "Fifty Shades of Grey" in the narrative, and the recipes are cleverly written. Some of the photos are hilarious, but high-quality and appetizing. I tried the first recipe in the book, chicken with bourbon-vanilla butter, and it was delicious. The chicken came out moist and juicy, with just a hint of vanilla flavor. Unusual, but tasty. The book includes a number of flavor combinations with chicken that I wouldn't even think to try. I'll definitely be cooking and laughing my way through this book. Absolutely a keeper.

If you liked the 50 shades of grey trilogy and have a good sense of humor then you will love this cookbook! Bought this for my friend's birthday and it's hilarious! Great recipes too. Highly recommend!

My friend purchased this and it was so dang witty, I just had too! I've tried a couple of the recipes too and they are not too bad. Mostly the tongue in cheek stories are hysterical and would love to meet the brain behind writing it. I DO have plans to try more of the recipes, they all look amazing.

This book is so entertaining! Not only does it have amazing recipes (fairly easy to follow) but it has a "50 shades" story line from the chicken's point of view - if you love a good parody you will appreciate the humor in this book!

I found this book better written than "Fifty Shades of Grey" which inspired it. It is hysterically funny and has an added benefit of 50 chicken recipes. I have tried a few and so far they have all been good!

hardcover book bought used had some fingerprints but wiped off easily looks new really good quality skimmed thru pages before gave as gift and its pretty funny how its worded like 50 shades and has legit chicken recipes good gift for the cook who has a sense of humor

It was sooooooo funny. It perfectly parallels the fifty shades trilogy,using the chicken! Super entertaining and great recipes too! And it did'nt go unnoticed to me that the author's name is "Fowler" !LOL

Book was given as a gift (of course I had to read it first). The book was the hit 4 the day. Many attending the gift exchange said if they had known about the book it would have been under many more trees. Good entertainment & good recipes.

Not only good real life recipes that will be cooked, it was hilarious. As one person said after the book made the rounds a a family holiday gathering "BEST gift ever"! Will purchase again for light hearted gifts.

I admit, I bought it for a white elephant exchange for a social group I am part of, but when I read through it (chuckling at all the "saucy" text), I discovered the recipes were actually appealing. (And OMG, some of the photos cracked me up).

It was a popular gift and everyone was skimming through the book. The eventual recipient was thrilled, and promised to make some of the recipes for future potlucks.

This book was as funny as it was yummy! Every recipe I have tried so far has been wonderful and all the word play kept me turning the pages! I would highly recommend this book for anyone who likes to cook.

This book is filled with comedy and succulent chicken recipes. I love that they played off of the "50 Shades..." theme. The recipes in this book are easily reproduced by the average home cook, even the novice! The story woven throughout is quite enjoyable as well as comical. I have already cooked my way through a good portion of this book and have yet to be disappointed. This totally upped my weeknight chicken game! I easily prepare and whip up great alternatives to my usual boneless/skinless/bland chicken breasts! Your family won't be disappointed.

This pictures are racy in a funny way and the recipes are actually tasty - This book is a great gift for a couple different scenarios - Diehard Fifty Shade fan who has everything - Cookbook collector with a sense of humor - or (why I bought it) white elephant gift - The price is awesome so I paired mine with a grocery store giftcard so they can go out and buy their own chicken to tie up. :)

Bought this as a Christmas White Elephant gift exchange item along with Game of Scones. It went over quite well. The recipes in this one are actually pretty good, too. So it's more than a novelty.
The stories and writing inside are pretty funny.

The entertainment value of this cookbook cannot be overstated. It is wonderful. The recipes looks good (though I admit I haven't tried any) and the passages are raunchy until you remember that it is all about a chicken. Great book, I am so glad I purchased this as a Christmas gift. I am considering buying more for gifts for friends.

The recipes in the cookbook are delicious. And the parody perfect for my sophomoric sense of humor. Chicken with a Lard On? I giggled all day.

I've now tried 11 of the recipes in the cookbook, and they've all been fantastic. My husband pronounced the chili the best I've ever made. Highly recommended just from a recipe stand point.

I bought this as a gag gift and brought it to a white elephant party at work and it was a hit! My coworkers (I work in education) thought it was hilarious! The lady who received it read several excerpts from it aloud and everyone was cracking up. This was definitely worth what I paid and makes a great gift for your friends that have a sense of humor. This is the best white elephant gift. I saw it given at a white elephant party, and immediately bought it for my white elephant work party. It was definitely traded around. The names are all sexual related, and the pictures are hilarious. It's a great little discussion piece to have on the shelf. And it's a real cookbook too.

Boring. Not much imagination used in this one. Lots of better parody books out there. If it is really buying the book for the recipes rather than the take on 50 Shades then I guess this might be OK. Giving as a gift to someone who eats a lot of chicken so I hope she can find some new recipes in this book.

Oh my gosh. Best birthday gift ever for my best friend that lives in a super conservative household of culinary lovers. It's such a great innuendo that if you don't know what 50 shades of gray is, you will wonder if you are secretly perverse. Real recipes too! Haha

The book was beautifully done, easy to read and follow and so punny! There are short story type things that parody the actual book and the whole thing is just fantastic.Also it has a lot of delicious looking recipes.

This book is hilarious! I bought it to give as part of a bridal shower gift, to go along with her rotisserie! It had great pictures of the fifty shades of chicken chef and oh yea great hilarious recipes which were actually real and great to use. Its a great recipe book with some humor.

I purchased this book for my friends Christmas gifts this year. All of them at various stages of cooking skill... I also have one for myself. This book is really easy to follow and the recipes turn out great! It was a big hit! One thing I noticed is that nearly all of the recipes call for baking/or oven time... I have been able to get around that by using an eclectic skillet and pressure cooker. I keep the rest of the recipe intact, and they are still turning out excellent.

Thank you, this has delicious recipes and the story told from the chicken's perspective, is hysterical. It is so clever that I am hosting a series of 50 Shades of Chicken Dinners...we will prepare 2 of the recipes and serve them at my wine shop, add salad and bread, pair with wine and read aloud from the appropriate chapters. My customers are looking forward to evenings of great food, wine and provocative humor.

A friend asked that I order 5 of these for gifts. It is a comical book and can be enjoyed based on that. As far as the recipies...I do not have a copy...but cruising through a copy...they look doable and sound good.

This is different than I was expecting. A LOT of this book is dedicated to chickened 50 Shades scenes. Like many full pages of text, not just a few lines here and there. It’s fewer recipes than I thought.

Much better than the movie, but could have been more humorous. The book has potential and as a small gag gift, it is perfect. I make people read recipes out of it and we always get a kick. I don't get second dates, but it's funny. Sort of.

I bought this for a white elephant party. It was a big hit! The descriptions of the preparation from the point of view of the chicken is very funny. A cute jab at scaucey novels. They were so funny / dirty sounding that it was embarrassing to read aloud. From the few glances I took as I flipped through, the recipes didn't seem to be anything too extravagant, but the titles were creative. The book itself was a very nice hard cover. Awesome quality. I definitely recommend this as a gift for the 50 shades fan. Oh, and the faux chicken bondage pictures were great as well. Super funny.

Brought this to go along with a bottle of wine as a Dirty Santa gift. I wrapped a bow around the book with a note saying to be opened by final recipient only....didnt want to reveal it's juicy contents ahead of time. Once the gift was in the hands if the winner, she loved it! Definitely the main discussion and hit of the party!

This is a wonderful cookbook that has a funny title. Bought this as a gift for my niece...she got a good laugh at the title but actually loves the recipes!! Every time she tries a new one she sends me a picture. Anything to do with preparing and cooking a chicken is made simple by the step by step directions. I believe that this cookbook is great for anyone with a sense of humor and a desire to learn to cook chicken.

The story and recipes are great but the books came extremely scratched and the binding torw and this was a mother's day gift and now that is ruined since mothers day is on Sunday. This should not have came like this!
