One of the better trail writers. I look forward to more from him. I enjoyed his story and style of writing. Unlike another Brit who wrote about his hike, I appreciated that he found a lot of things to be positive about concerning the USA. It was refreshing. I'm going to check out his website to learn more about what he is up to now.

Wonderfully written and we get to know the writer inner person better. I have read all 3 of his books, starting with the Camino, I salute anyone who loves being in nature for months, not only measuring yourself against all difficulties but also against your inner complexities. Looking forward to his next book on the Continental Divide trail.

Keith Foskett (Fozzie) wrote an engrossing account of his momentous hike from the border of Mexico thru the western American mountains to Canada. His one-mindedness, endurance and humor are evident throughout this engrossing account of his jaunt! Individuals of Fozzie's ilk are the reason why there will always be an England!

Entertaining and insightful. For anyone who has any interest at all in what a hike from Mexico to Canada I would recommend this book. Having watched a few documentaries on the Pacific Crest Trail and having read several articles on the subject this book revealed even more of the highs and lows of such a trek. Looking forward to reading more of Fozzie's books.

Even though I have read several books on the PCT, i enjoyed this one probably the most. Keith adds a sense of humor to his story which is probably a good thing to have with you as you take this long journey on the trail. I really enjoyed the other hikers posts at the end of the book. it was a nice completion.

After reading his book about walking the El Camino I just had to travel with Fozzie again. Each day on the PCT through Fozzie was another opportunity for me to escape my everyday life. Great writing and thanks for the journey!

Love the humor, the food descriptions and the total wanderlust. I feel it and it was good to be able to read about someone getting to do what they loved.
I sincerely hope this 2.99 goes straight to your next through hike Fozzie :)

The Author does a great job telling his story. I have hiked some of the trail and it was fun to read about some of the restaurants and towns along the way. A must read for someone attempting the PCT in the future.

Great read! I definitely recommend this book. Keith has a great style of writing and telling his stories. He includes such rawness and humor that kept me intrigued. Very inspiring and a great reminder of the little things I love and appreciate about the great outdoors.

I really enjoyed reading about Fozzie's adventure along the Pacific Crest Trail. In my opinion, he did a wonderful job at telling his story. The way he describes his hike allowed me to vividly imagine what was going on, and his surroundings... and upon reading the book, one can see that a number of those scenes are a bit lively! As well, I really enjoyed the more typical "thru-hiking" aspect of the book. I quite enjoy reading books on peoples' thru hikes, but I will also admit, some are much better than others. In my honest opinion, I thought Fozzie's telling was one of the better ones that I have read.
Living in the east, I have never hiked the PCT, nor even stepped foot on it, yet. Fozzie's book has definitely inspired me though, and one day I hope to have a hike along the PCT, if not the whole thing...

A really excellent book about hiking the Pacific Coast Trail. Keith Foskett is a great writer and he provides a very entertaining stream of stories of his journey. This is a really good book. I look forward to Keith's next book.

This book did not disappoint! I was thoroughly entertained and laughed out loud several times. I have already recommended this book to several of my hiking friends. I have read several thru-hiking books, but none of them compare to Fozzie's brilliant writing.

Very readable and entertaining. If you are looking for a book about the logistics of completing the PCT (which I was), this ain't it. Still, I really enjoyed the book and would recommend it to those interested in hiking the PCT or just wanting to read a tale about real long walks.

Loved every minute of the book which allowed me to experience a small portion of the trail experience without the pain and discomfort but also regrettably without the life altering views and vistas. How courageous to opt out from suburbia.....

I really felt I was walking the trail myself, very well written, and never a dull moment, with the scenery, animals and characters he befriended on the trail. As an armchair traveler, this book is now one of my favorites. Can't recommend it enough.

Not particularly great literature for those fans of Paul Theroux looking for something different, so hard to recommend on that front. For those interested in the logistics of a through hike, not enough detail relating to equipment or other such matters to satisfy them. I think the author tried to have it both ways and did not succeed at either. It was mildly interesting, but not particularly satisfying.

I've been armchair backpacking this winter and fantasizing about a long walk through California and beyond. At 50+, I don't know if this will happen, but this book so far has done the best I've read at capturing the mind's eye of a thru-hike. Happy trails!

I have read several books about thru-hiking. I enjoyed this one very much as the author comes across as very real without an agenda other than to share his love of the outdoors and hiking.
If you love hiking and enjoy reading about the very interesting people that attempt such a journey read this book.

I started to read this book for information about the Pacific Crest Trail of which completing is a dream I am harboring. I got excellent information, detailed real life experiences and fell in love with the author in the process.

Keith "Fozzie" Foskett has written an instant hiking classic! I felt that I was on the trail with Fozzie the entire way! Mr Foskett's writing style allows you to see the sights, smell the smells, and feel the hair stand on the back of your neck during the perilous moments. Fozzie has truly inspired me to revisit my own dream of a thru hike. Thanks to his inspiration, I will be attempting an Appalachian Trail thru hike in Spring 2014! Thank you Mr Foskett for helping me remember where I really want to be! I can not wait for your next book!

I really enjoyed this book.
Keith tells about his hike in a humorous ( and typically pommy) way. I have read a number of books about hiking the Big 3 in America - the AT, the CDT and the PCT and this book was up there with them. I have read books very slightly better so I wanted to give it a 4.5 but as I cant I erred on the high side.

I felt I was walking, camping, hurting, laughing, and accomplished with Keith. He pulled me into the hike and allowed me to get to know him and the people he was sharing the trail with. Great experience.

I really enjoyed this book. Some editing issues but in no way did they ever become distracting to the point of irritation. Wonderful story telling with a British flavor sprinkled with introspective and visual imagery. Highly recommend this to anyone dreaming or planning to hike the PCT.
