Excellent journalistic reporting. Well written. This book takes a close look at the connections between Russia and Trump players in influencing the election of Donald Trump. It exposes the corrupted outreach and influence that Russia has on our country as well as its attempts to control other countries as well. An informative and troubling read with regard to Russia and willingness of persons in our country to threaten our democracy for power and greed.

Both authors have good creds. They have connected many scary dots, revealing an unprecedented time in our history. There are many characters, which in most cases I would find confusing, but it was so interesting I did not find that a problem. History will read this book often.

Michael Isikoff and David Corn have documented the ongoing Russian interference in the 2016 election. Hopefully, the Mueller Investigation will provide some transparency to the daily lying and fake news emanating from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Our country deserves better!

This book is even more relevant in August 2018 because we are so familiar with the characters - heroes and villains. Isikoff and Korn make a complicated and seemingly convoluted plan to foul our democracy easy to unravel. Thank God for them and Christopher Steele. The future is not so clear.

Well researched, and not a diatribe or polemic. If you're not ticked off at the Russians with the information you've already got, read this and you'll get there. Arm yourself with information, and then develop your opinions. This is a well written book with valuable information, whatever your political bent.

This is one of the most comprehensive books written on the 2016 election and the Russian meddling, the Steel dossier, the DNC's response to released emails, etc. If you are a junkie of the news surrounding the 2016 election, as I am, this book is required reading.

Thorough exploration of what's been uncovered about Russian interference in the 2016 election in the year since the election -- including going back many years to see how the seeds were being planted. Someone dense because of all the names, but nevertheless gripping. Can't wait for the inevitable sequel; already, so many new things have come out since this book went to press.

This was the most exciting and informative political best-seller I have ever read. A must read for everyone who wants to sort out all the facts of the convoluted happenings that got us to the Justice Department investigations.

"Russian Roulette" covers much of the same material as "Collusion", which I also have. I would actually recommend both, for anyone seriously trying to understand what's going on. Some of the material overlaps, but they each also cover fascinating material that is unique to their book.

Fabulous!! Absolutely Fabulous...I have no idea how so many facts were gathered and put in one easy and exciting to read book. The author's must have been working night and day to uncover all of this information and present it so clearly. Bravo on a job well done. Recommended reading !!

Wow! What a read! Collusion, conspiracy, there IS something there, and it is not good for America. The right could not be more wrong. Read this book, then get others to do the same. Realize ignorance can, and will, destroy our fragile democracy. That is what is about to happen.

Interesting, and gives you more insight than you might have picked up from your favorite TV news channel, but you could probably skip the first few chapters (detailing Putin's motivations), unless you've been under a rock for the last few years and truly don't know what's been going on.

Michael Isikoff and David Corn have put it all together here: Everything that is currently known about The Trump Presidential campaign and Russian interference. The authors have certainly conducted extensive research into this subject.

Behind-the-scenes account of Donald Trump's ambition to expand his business interests in Russia, and the Putin government's efforts to influence the 2016 U.S. Presidential election. This book illustrates the principle that truth can be stranger than fiction. Highly recommended.

Okay: I know how investigative writers like to have some some secrets to reveal in their projects. It helps by using an element of surprises and helps sell their books. We are beyond that element these days. Seems before the book is released we get to hear the "Cliff" note version throughout the media . But if you really enjoy reading about this land marked political fiasco? You will see small bits and parts in one book that will be a major issue in another book. So if you are a poli-junky as I confess. It is important to read several books and eventually you will see consisted research by entirely different journalist, authors and investigators coming to the same conclusions. Way too much consistency to be just coincidence. Now time to read " A Higher Loyalty "....?

This novel writes clear, concise and compelling information regarding this presidency, and the scandal that surrounds it presently, and long before Trump was president. The shadowy Russian figures and the fixers are all their staring at you from the pages as you read.

I bought this for my grandmother (her request) and she loved it! She actually finished reading the book in a matter of days and passed it on to me. Great read for political followers or even for someone who just enjoys reading (like myself).

This was a great read, put the pieces together - follow the timeline of the ever breaking story. Made me what to know more! I guess I will have to wait for the second book to come out! This story continues to grow with each passing day.

A thorough explanation of how ignorant our president is about how smart people get over on him. The part of the famous dossier where Putin’s guy offers Carter Page 19% of Russian oil interests if Trump lifts sanctions is explained. Since the offerer, Igor Sechin, is now mysteriously deceased, it can’t be verified.

The in depth research and information is fascinating making it hard to put down. It ties the Russian involvement with Trump and in our election much more sensible than what is heard during sound bytes or limited televised interviews.

It is all here, everything you already know and have forgotten, some things you have not heard before are set forth with everything else that you have always been clear about, and the story unfolds logically. The Case is made.

Factual, documented, well presented. I hope Mueller reads this. It lays to rest any question about the Russian attack on the US election process. They did so as a determined strategy to get Trump into the White House. With or without his assistance. His campaign talks and tweets echoed what Russia was already promoting.

The daily news accounts we read in the papers and saw on TV all in one place in a timeline make sense now. We were and are under attack by people who want to see us destroyed while our president refuses to take appropriate action to end it. Read this book!

I just finished reading the book , "Russian Roulette" by Michael Isikoff and David Corn.

I have followed the Russian hacking of our election from the beginning. Much of it I already knew but there were places in the book that offered on how it happened that wasn't previously known. It is disturbing that a foreign country could sabotage our election but equally so that some things were pushed aside for more subject matter that was less important.

It is a good book but it leaves me frustrated that during the 2016 election that many things were pushed into the background or couldn't be collaborated then, but now, everything is coming to light and put in place.. too late for 2016, but hopefully we can prevent this from happening again.

My thanks to Michael Isikoff and David Corn for their invaluable research and writing of this book. Please continue your work for the sake of democracy.

This book provides much needed insight of the many strings connecting Vladimir Putin's Russia to those in influential positions surrounding the current administration, starting before the election! It names the actors and organizations, and gives background on their roles and actions as they move into and out of the sphere of influence. They get hired and fired but they never totally disappear. It was a good book to read.

If you are an American patriot who is concerned about sustaining our system of free and fair elections and justice for all, then this is MUST read.

Mr. Isikoff and Mr. Corn, you are American heroes. Thank you for your service.

I couldn’t even finish Fire and Fury not because it was Salacious but because it was so poorly written. You won’t have the problem here. This is a extremely well written book that provides valuable insight and context to the Trump Administration. Must read.

I think well researched books like this help to preserve the Democratic system so important to our country. It is so important to have an informed electorate that takes voting seriously. Everyone should read this book before the 2018 mid term elections.

This well-written book summarizes a great deal of inter-related facts and information from the last two years involving the Russians, Pres. Trump and meddling in the US electoral systems. If one paid attention to news reports and various articles and interviews, some involving the authors themselves, then there would be few surprises in the book's carefully laid out argument. However, the book is very useful to those unaware of the basic issues in contention.

Every one should read this book. The connection between Trump and the Russians is laid out in clear and concise manner and leaves no doubt Trump is in this conspiracy way up to his neck. When all is told, this book will be a big part of the beginning of the end for our president. Both writers are tops in their field, but they have outdone themselves this time.

If you are a Trump supporter, or a liberal Democrat, this book is an excellent compilation of what happened during our last election. We have had, and will continue to have ”dirty tricks” during our election cycle. But the interference of a foreign power should never be tolerated. As citizens we must be informed, and aware of the weakening of America democracy.

Unless you've experienced sensory deprivation for the last year and a half, you know that Russians influenced the 2016 election. Overwhelming evidence has come to light and dribbled out through hundreds of news stories and books. Not to mention the indictments that have already come down through Robert Mueller's investigation of the Trump campaign's multiple links to the Kremlin. Much less well known outside the confines of the American intelligence establishment are the facts about exactly what steps the Russian government took to destabilize US society and help Donald Trump win the White House. Now come veteran investigative reporters Michael Isikoff and David Corn with Russian Roulette. The book's subtitle is the key: The Inside Story of Putin's War on America and the Election of Donald Trump.

If you've closely followed the unfolding story about the multiple connections between Donald Trump's associates and top Kremlin officials, the so-called oligarchs, and the Russian mafia, you're unlikely to find much in Russian Roulette that will surprise you. The book contains abundant detail, fleshing out the often-sketchy stories that have surfaced in the press; seemingly, every individual name that has come to light over the past eighteen months in the reporting of this unfolding scandal figures in the authors' account. There are few startling revelations in this story, which has been extensively covered by the New York Times, the Washington Post, MSNBC, CNN, The New Yorker, and other American news outlets.

The true value in Russian Roulette lies elsewhere. Isikoff and Corn's book excels in its detailed description of the massive effort mounted by Russian intelligence to deepen the divisions and distrust within American society, destroy Hillary Clinton's reputation, and help Donald Trump win the presidency. In Russian Roulette, you'll meet the players central to the massive Russian campaign, including the St. Petersburg-based Internet Research Agency and the two large hacker groups dubbed Cozy Bear and Fancy Bear by US intelligence. At a minimum, two hundred Russians were engaged in the Kremlin-driven effort over at least two years. Only in recent months has the full extent of this campaign come to the attention of the US public.

Vladimir Putin and the 2016 election
Despite the repeated denials from the White House and Trump loyalists in Congress and on Fox News, there can be no doubt whatsoever that the Russian influence campaign was real. Early in January 2017, two weeks before Donald Trump's inauguration as President, the heads of the four top US intelligence agencies issued a joint statement. "With 'high confidence,' the assessment stated, 'Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an influence campaign in 2016 aimed at the US presidential election. Russia's goals were to undermine faith in the US democratic process, denigrate Secretary Hillary Clinton, and harm her electability and potential presidency. We further assess Putin and the Russian Government developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump.'" The statement was signed by James Clapper (Director of National Intelligence), John Brennan (CIA), Michael Rogers (NSA), and James Comey (FBI), the four most senior intelligence officials in the US government under President Barack Obama. Given the rivalry within the intelligence community—and the time it took them to reach agreement on the wording—this assessment is remarkable.

Did the Russians help Donald Trump win?
More than 130 million votes were cast in the 2016 presidential election. Innumerable factors contributed to Trump's victory, including strategic errors by Hillary Clinton and her staff, Trump's demagogic skills, successful years-long Republican efforts to suppress minority voting, the failure of the Obama White House to highlight and respond to the Russian influence campaign, and James Comey's misleading announcement eleven days before the election that the FBI was investigating a fresh collection of Hillary Clinton emails. If a mere 70,000 votes had changed hands in the three swing states of Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Wisconsin, Clinton would have won the Electoral College as well as the popular vote.

Given these facts, it's impossible to determine whether the Russian campaign was decisive. And the joint statement by the intelligence community insisted that "'We did not make an assessment of the impact that Russian activities had on the outcome of the 2016 election.'" Yet, reading between the lines, it appears the the authors have drawn their own conclusion—that Putin's gambit did in fact play a significant role in Trump's election. Isikoff and Corn drive this point home with a colorful detail: "the Russian Duma burst into applause when informed Trump was the victor. Putin's operation—which had fueled divisions within the United States and influenced an American presidential election—had succeeded."
