Webb's "The Red Circle" is a excellent reflection on how much individuals can and are willed to sacrifice for their country. They will suffer the loss of comrades, close friends and in Webb's case the own family due to divorce. While the book offers extensive insights into the Navy SEAL training and how Webb became the manager for the Navy Sniper course and how he reinvented the curriculum, the book is a bit short on actual experienes in Afghanistan. Not that book is lacking credibility but some more "stories' would have definitely contributed to the fascination of this book. Overall, a great read for folks who are interested to learn more.

As with any Navy Seal book this is also gripping. Webb tells his story of being in training and out on missions. Being an old paratrooper, I would love to be young again and have the opportunity to try out for the seals. If you are interested in hide and seek I can attest that you will relish reading this book. Thank God for Seals.

Amazing insights into what it takes to become a Seal. Truly the best of the best and Webb does a fine job in bringing the reader into all aspects of endurance and training required to be one of the elites.

I usually don't read memoirs but after checking out the reviews for this one, I went for it. An incredibly vivid read! What a life! And Brandon made everything understandable for the those of us with no knowledge of how things work in the military.

Brandon Webb, keeps the reader engaged with every word. The highs, the lows, his book is my new Favorite, I can not wait to read AMONG HEROS, also by SEAL Brandon WEBB. This book imparts leadership traits, skills and philosophy I try to use daily in my life.

reading about his life and never quit attitude was very inspiring. being ex-army i could relate to his stories of good and bad leadership qualities in men. Brandon Webb's belief in always striving for excellence in whatever you do is a lesson I had forgotten but thanks to this book it motivates me to be better. A good read and very motivational.

Red Circle is a very well written, first person account of the great struggle to become accepted into one of America's finest military branches, The SEALs. Mr. Webb's personal accounts of trial after trial, failure after failure which moves into pushing through with mental fortitude and tenacity, is a great motivator. If there is one theme that is repeated over and again throughout this book, it is one of personal mental commitment to not quit and finish the job. Mr. Webb gives the reader a rare glimpse into his personal life, BUD training, SEAL team development and ultimately to becoming a SEAL Sniper trainer. If you enjoy learning about the secret world of America's elite military programs, then this book is for you.

I liked the fact that the author showed his personal vulnerabilities in his quest to move through his career as a Navy Seal. I felt he was honest and created an interesting story that would appear both to a competition shooter and those who simply have an interest in the world of those who serve in special ops.

This book was a quick read from beginning to end. It starts out detailing how Brandon became interested in the SEALs and moves through BUD/s training. It details some of his time spent in Afghanistan. After his last deployment the book talks about how he eventually worked his way up to course master of the Navy Seal sniper course and how Brandon helped evolve the course to what it has become today. I read the book first, then purchased the audio book through Audible. I liked that Brandon personally gave a preface to each chapter of the audio book. I wish that other authors would do the same with their memoirs.

Navy Seals are writing books and we are lucky. These tough, smart, brave young men share their backgrounds and experiences just as if they were looking into your face, and Brandon Webb is one of the best storytellers I have come across so far.
I even tried to close my eyes and stop reading at times trying to really get into the place or situation, the physical pain, the loss of a close friend, also a SEAL.
If I had my sons to raise again, I would make it a point that they should both read this book. This is no fairy tale. This is a trial of wits, nerve, physical stamina and determination. Not every one can do it, but I'm American proud of those who do.
And Brandon Webb's "The Red Circle" is great at telling us about it.

This is not just about Brandon Webb's amazing experiences and life. Yes, you will see what these men go through in training, but there is so much about life, philosophy of leadership, team work and loyalty. I highlighted many sections to be able to read through them again to continue to learn and assess my life. Well done Mr. Webb.

Awesome book! I have a tremendous amount of respect for our servicemen...most notably Navy Seals. I was glued to this book from the start. I pictured all the vital moments in my head as if I was actually there. Thank you Brandon for giving us an insight into the life of brave warriors who sacrifice so much for our freedom. Hooyah!!!

This is an excellent source for research concerning the training of Navy SEALs. I intend to use this as a primary source for my book about a sniper. There are some things that were not revealed that I know from a former Navy SEAL, team 3. But to put these things in writing would be against classified information.

This is a masterfully written account of training and field application, the first story I have read about the Seals. It is so thorough about the training part that although I've seen other books since, I haven't been tempted to read them yet. I would recommend this to a friend.

Congratulations to Brandon Webb. I have read numerous Navy Seal books and this is probably one of the best! I enjoyed his very descriptive narratives on the missions he was on and also how he put together the Seal Sniper program. It was a very well read book. Easy to follow, hard to put down. I look forward to reading other titles he has authored.

Great Book!
Brandon Webb did an awesome job explaining his journey thru BUD/S training, Seal sniper training & his deployments to Afghanistan.
This is the best type of book on these topics that I have read, well worth the money I spent on it.

The author often eliminates the subtleties of foreshadowing and just tells you an end result. The exciting part is always how the end result happens. Happy to have tea another account of what goes on overseas. I respect all servicemen and women and wholeheartedly appreciate their daily sacrifices and contributions. Buy this book. It was phenomenal.

Excellent book. As you are probably more than well aware, there are a BAJILLION books out there written by Navy SEALS. I think one of the incentives to not ring the bell during BUD/S is that if you stick it out, you'll eventually get a book deal. I mean, you can certainly find books written by former Delta Force, Green Berets, Rangers, etc, but all of the other books written by members of these other units totaled together would not come close to equaling the amount of books that have been penned by Frogmen. I'm part of the problem because I purchase and read most of them. Among the many books about out nation's premiere maritime special mission force The Red Circle stands out among them. This book has a lot of detail. Webb talks a lot about his childhood. A lot about his time as a Aviation Rescue Swimmer. A lot about his time in BUD/S. A lot about his personal life. A lot about his relationships with commanders, peers, and subordinates. A lot about his time as a junior SEAL, and a lot about his time as a more senior guy who made a lot of positive changes to SEAL sniper training. I really enjoyed reading this book. There is a lot of detail in it. There are a ton of books written by SEALs out there. Among this voluminous category, there are a lot of good books. However, if you only ever read one book about SEALs I would recommend this book. If you are like me and have read tons of books about SEALs, even you will learn a lot from Mr. Webb's book. Great book. I highly recommend you read it.

Brandon Webb opens the world of the highly trained Seal Snipers to the unknowing but greatly protected American. He is what makes us safe, proud and protected. I have always had ultimate respect for our Special Forces, and especially our Navy Seals. I now know that the Seal Snipers are the best of the Seals! Simply amazing...thank you again and again Brandon Webb!

Great insight into a man who changed the dynamic of the training process. Both humbling, and inspiring, Mr. Webb conveys the impact that your choices in life have on you while stressing the importance of proper leadership.

My first Brandon Webb book was his "21st Century Sniper" - full of great technical info. This book, however, is more about the mind of a sniper; the way it developed in Webb over his career in the Navy. I want my 11 year-old son to read it.

For those who feel our military mite is overrated you need to absorb this book. Thank God we have special ops forces and SEAL teams. And yes, I do sleep better at night knowing they are out there. A big thanks to all our military out in harm's way. Yes, we are free but it's not free.

This book was a well written and thoughtful look into one of our greatest warriors. It's unabashedly honest about Webb's life before and during his time in the teams. It has all the emotions from anticipation to happiness and sadness that make this a riveting story and a book that was hard to put down.

Don't believe many Americans or even prior service actually realize what those in Black Ops must do, not only to prepare and qualify, but the sacrifices they and families must endure, many lifelong, so we can remain free. Freedom is NOT free....

A very informative and extremely well written personal account of one man's journey through a life that most people are fascinated about because the Navy Seals represent the very best in our country's armed forces today. After reading Brandon Webb's book, it is easier to understand what it takes to become and then serve as one of the most elite group of fighting forces in the world . This book should be an inspiration to all young people to strive to be the best they can be at whatever they choose to do.

A Different SEAL book that takes you step by step through the process of becoming and remaining one of the most highly trained and deployable assets in the world. His raw truth on being prepared and sometimes not so much tell a great personal story. His experience with good and poor leadership is totally relevant to today's world of "hold your breath to the top" leadership styles. His philosophy of plan, execute and just make it work are a truly a great asset.

I a former member of the Royal Australian Navy, I FOUND many similarities in /Brandon Webb early career to my own. I went on to become a high.school teacher and I FOUND his story to an inspiring.account of never giving up on the course that one sets for themselves. I always said.to.my students that you are the biggest hind we dance to achieving your dreams and Brandon Webb has clearly demonstrated this. In the Australian Navy we would say BRAVO ZULU (meaning job well done)

The author recounts his training through BUD/S and efforts to get to SEALs. Interesting topics and tales from his past. Not as compelling as "The Lone Survivor" which was written by a contemporary of Brandon Webb. Very much worth the price.
