This book had me laughing until I cried several times. A fan of the wicked witches of the Midwest..I'm so glad I have this a chance. Amanda Lee's books are like a cross between Terry Pratchett and Janette Evanovich. I am a huge fan and cannot wait until the next installment of Grimlock's.

Loved it. Snark and sarcastic but humorous as well. Absolutely fantastic! Having lost her job, it's now time to join the family business. Being a Reaper (taking souls to their next part of the journey) should be risk free? Wrong! Someone seems to have taken out people that are not on the lists of people dying and to top it all they have sent out wraiths into the game. Can she find out why and how before her father, her gay housemate and her over protective brothers wrap her in a safety blanket. Wonderful characters and the banter between the family members is a joy to read. Whilst her growing romantic interest in the local detective is both humorous and endearing. The plot itself is fast paced, action packed and swiftly moving from one disaster to another. A joy to read.

I just finished binge-reading the six books in this series. I actually binge-listening the first four books, and was disappointed to find that there was no audiobook version of books 5 and 6. I really enjoyed books 1 and 2. The character interactions were, occasionally, hysterical. And yet, despite the family bickering, insults and complaints, it was clear how much the entire family cared for each other. By the end of book 2, I was hooked.
Admittedly, the plot points in the later books might have been bit weak, but not enough to make me NOT want to finish all the books.
I consider an author to have a "win" when I am almost persuaded to forget that the characters in the book aren't actually real.

Love this series - After 1 book, I love this series even more than I like the Witches of the Midwest series, which I didn't think was possible. The Grim reapers concept is a nice change from witches but the real seller is the family interactions. The family dynamics are great and multi-dimensional - like the interaction both while "working" and at play - remind me of the back and forth in my own family some times. Stayed up way too late last night as I had to start the next book in the series.

A family whose business is being Grim Reapers. And who live in a castle. In Detroit, Michigan. Except for Aisling. She lives in a condo with her bestie. Who is a guy. Who turns out to have the hots for Aisling's twin brother. And she has the hots for a homicide detective. Who took her in as a suspect.
And that's just the beginning of this giggle fest! Throw in botched assignments, evil wraiths, a Daddy Dearest (everything but 'NO WIRE HANGERS!), and a whole intricate cast of characters. Dialog is fast and snarky, always lots going on, and too much fun to louse up with spoilers!
Karen Krause really nails it with her performance! Good character involvement and differentiation, and is totally believable as Aisling (who first person's the entire tale). It doesn't hurt that her voice is pleasant, either.

This author has easily earned her place among my "Must Read" books. In just a few weeks, I've managed to burn through everything she has published! I love the characters she creates because they seem so real. They aren't perfect. Their lives are far from simple. Their families are all dysfunctional. There is wit, humor, banter, creative arguing, and quite a solid depth to the people she writes.
That said, it took me a bit to become fond of Aisling. She's a bit spoiled. I think it was her relationship with her best friend that finally helped me connect with her. 3 of my closest friends happen to be gay men, and she writes the character of Jerry with such glee! Aislings brothers and boyfriend, and even her dad are a delight to see how she keeps them all just a tad off center.
All in all, I've loved these 2 first books in this series and can't wait for more.

Ainsley Grimlock is not your average girl. She is a member of a family of Grim Reapers. She loses her job and now has to work with her family. It is hard for her to have relationships because she can't tell everyone what she does. When she gets involved with a police investigation her life is changed. She has to share or lose a man she loves...though I can't see WHY she does. There are Wraiths in town wreaking havoc and secrets to be uncovered.Karen Krause is great as Ainsley and most characters but Griffitn is one I could not stand. The cadence was way too slow.

Ms. Lee never disappoints! I am slowly making my way through all of her books, and I downloaded this one without reading the description. I am not generally a fan of supernatural, but Ms. Lee never goes over the top with it but incorporates it in a fun way. I never would have imagined I'd read a story about a reaper family, but I'm so glad I did! I loved the family element and all of the over protective brothers. I really love Aidan and Jerry! Griffin gets off to a bit of a rocky start, but I'm sure he will fully redeem himself before too long. Can't wait to read book 2!

The plot line is steady and clearly well thought out and in my opinion ebbs and flows perfectly add action romance and a crazy bar fight at a drag bar and I am sold! Not only did this book keep me highly entertained but it had a fantastic and unpredictable plot twist at the end that had me not only purchase the next book but all the books in the series! I strongly recommend this hilarious book to anyone looking for something different and original!

I enjoyed this book, especially the characters. The dialogue was full of snark and banter, which I appreciate. The paranormal angle was fresh. The bonds between Aisling's family and her made for a good read.
With that said, I found myself losing steam with about fifteen percent left in the book. It just seemed to kind of stall and then hurry up and finish toward the end. I didn't love Aisling's love angle, but I did enjoy Jerry's. The only other thing I wasn't a fan of was the constant use of the word "though" (more than 200 times).
I would recommend this book to others looking for a new take on paranormal or for those who appreciate familial banter. I will be picking up book 2.

At a time when most modern fantasy, romance or not, have their heroines doing incredibly stupid things, and whining about it. Or rushing to be the victim so they can hide behind the big strong he-man savior that soon dictates their entire thought process to them. I have to say, I love Aisling. The snark factor, cracks me up, the family dynamic is one that I can easily see, when a family is bonded as tightly as the Grimlocks, by their profession as well as closeness. The ultimate part of any book in the series, is of course, the fights with Angelina. Must have more of her getting her butt handed to her, while the brothers cheer her on.

This book was my lending library selection for December. I am not usually a fan of reaper themes, and so although I am a big fan of Amanda M. Lee's writing, specifically her Winchester Witches series, I had avoided this one. I needed an Amanda fix though, so I decided to take a chance. My only regret is avoiding it for so long. It is a typical quirky and fun Amanda M. Lee read. The characters are likeable and zany. Lot of LOL, and I will be definitely reading the rest of the series.

Aisling is a Reaper, in fact her whole family are reapers. They collect souls and pass them on to their next destination. Despite the odd family business she's just a person like anyone else. At 25 she is the youngest of 5 children and the only daughter of a loving but dictatorial father. As Aisling is just starting to work as a Reaper, she trips over a dead body in an alley. Only this guy was not on her list of collections and her family holds the contract for this county! Who is poaching?
Another thoroughly enjoyable series by Amanda M. Lee.

Grim Tiding is a fun, addictive read!
The plot was fast paced with entertaining twists and turns. The story centers on a family of reapers who collect the souls.
The characters are fantastic. I love every one of them. Aisling is the only girl in a house of her brothers, she funny, snarky, tough, and sexy. Her brothers, dad, best friend, and a sexy detective are so much fun, there are times I actually laugh out loud!!!
Happy Reading

Since I was afraid of experiencing a bad withdrawal after finishing the Wicked Witches of the Midwest series, I decided to read this book under the advisement of my sister. This was as good as the Winchesters...same theme but different in some aspects. I loved all the characters. They're witty, funny, and crazy, most especially Aidan and Jerry. Another good read for me. I can't wait for the next installment.

I totally fell in LOVE with the main character Aisling!! She has a very fun personality.
The author is able to make the characters come alive from the very first page. Each person has their own personality and are very 3D.
I couldn't stop reading because I couldn't wait for the next comment out of Aisling's mouth and find out how everyone reacts to them!!
Awesome book.

Amanda M.Lee has a snarky, sarcastic way of writing. Her Avery Shaw series was too my children for me to read, however, I found her wicked witches of the Midwest series and fell in love. So when starting this book I wasn't sure if it would be too snarky and I was glad it wasn't. It's an interesting story line about grim reapers and lots of fun to read. There is a lot of snarkiness but it works in a family like this, at least for me. Looking forward to the next book.

I thought it was a completely implausible plot, but I loved every second of it! It's so funny. I laughed out loud the whole time I read it. The humor might not be for everyone, but it certainly boosted my spirits. Jerry's character is my favorite. I would love to meet him as a real person! If you are looking for an escape from reality this book is for you. It is a lighthearted, easy read.

Well developed plot and interesting characters in a rather different kind of paranormal story for Amanda Lee. A little snarkier and more adult than Witches of the Midwest series. Fun read in a grim sort of way.

This author is amazing...the wit is hilarious and I find myself laughing out loud (really loudly) in the middle of the night! I'm unable to put the book down and the stories are excellent. The characters are well defined and the relationships just make you feel good. Ms. Lee you have another devoted reader!!

This is a series set in a supernatural world. The kind that is light but makes you love the characters. I admire an author that can make fantasy seem believable, funny and wanting more. I got the 2nd installment before I finished the 1st.

This another great book by Amanda Lee. Grim Tidings is a story of a girl named Aisling who is snarky, but who wouldn't be considering she joined the family business of grim reapers. This book has mystery, humor, romance, and what I liked best a great family dynamic.

I have never had anyone mention Blue Moon ice cream anywhere outside of my home state! That alone makes me love this book. The story is good also and the humor is right up my alley. I read this after reading all six books on the Winchester witches and cannot wait for more snarky humor and romance.

I really like the main characters in Amanda Lees's books...strong women, smart mouths, and a passion for life and the people they love...even if they do drive her crazy. Enjoyable beginning to a new series. I like the touch of the supernatural mixed in with reality.

I loved the family atmosphere and interactions, that the author provided in her story telling. The family is diversed and loving even when they do not agree with one another. The characters are well written and it feels like you really know "them."

Grim Tidings by Amanda Lee had me laughing from the start. As a life long metro Detroiter, I loved that the settings were in Detroit, Grosse Pointe, and Royal Oak. I'm very much looking forward to the next chapter in Aisling's life!

I loved this book. The different interpretation of the Grim Reaper is interesting, and the Grimlock family is a great cast of characters. I enjoyed the author's humor, and there was an excellent balance of mystery, adventure, and romance. I'm looking forward in anticipation to the next book in the series.

I really enjoy reading anything that Amanda M Lee writes. The Aisling Grimlock - Grim Tidings is my favorite so far. For some reason, I was invested into the characters instantly. I loved the witty humor and enjoyed the new perspective of grim reapers.
