I thoroughly enjoyed reading this box set by Mr. Hunt - Snatched. The transitioning between the different stories was smooth and done in an unusual way kinda backwards. The characters are interesting and seem to get along exceptionally well though they are completely different individuals. I look forward to reading additional stories by this author.

Detective Grant is a man among men! A hard life and a hard job has kept all of us guessing how he copes. I gave these books a four star rating because I could hardly put them down. The only thing I didn't like was that they weren't in chronological order. He has an amazing partner in law enforcement and they make a good team. I would recommended this boxset to whomever likes intense mysteries!

The only bad thing was taking the time out to write this review ?. I haven't stopped reading it since I got up this morning. Wonderful wonderful book! When the 3rd book started I was a little disappointed to see you didn't keep going from from the end of the last book. I know now after finishing this one what's happening :0). ! Love the book. Already purchased your other set

I liked the story line and suspense, but I did not like the language. I was tolerant at first but after using my Lord's name in vain I stopped reading. CAN NOT SOMEONE WRITE A GOOD STORY WITHOUT THE BAD WORDS.

The book was one I could have enjoyed and given a five star rating, except for one factor. The foul language and cursing in it were very excessive. The book would have been just as good without the bad language, especially using the Lord's name in vain. I wish you had put a warning on the site so I would have known before I downloaded it. Again, it could have been a great book. Please consider writing a version without the bad language.

This is a Boxset. The first book is an introduction of what is to come. It is fast paced and full of action, mystery and suspense. This is going to be a great read if the rest is like the intro. Brilliant author. I love his books. Just finished Book 1. Fantastic thriller. This series gets better with each Book. Just finished Book 2. Another fantastic adventure. Holds you captivated from start to finish. Deadly Web keeps you in suspense the whole way through. Lots of action. Some of the same characters, but lots of new ones too. Deadly Web 1 is the best book yet. It is full if so much suspense and action that you cannot put it down. These storylines are super. The dialogue is epic. Love this author. His books have so many twist and turns it is like reading a story within a story. Freaking Genius. Well, I did it! I read the whole Boxset! It was a fantastic read. I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes this kind of genre. If you don't, I think if you give this series a try, you will seriously change your mind.

This is packaged as six novellas, but it's essentially two novels. The good parts: it is well written, fast paced, and contains interesting story lines. There are a few plot twists that were a little far fetched and one theme echoing in the second novel a little too heavily from the first, but I read for escape and to suspend heavy thought, so I could live with it. The novels were engaging, I read them straight through over a couple of days, and would recommend as engaging, interesting and a solid read. My biggest complaint by far is that the first set of novellas are set AFTER the second. So you read what is essentially the first book with heavy references to past events...and then when you get to the second set of novellas, you are in the past, rehashing events references in the first book. Maybe it was so bothersome to me because I read it straight through, but I like to read the series in order. The references to the past were more heavy handed than vague hints, so certain elements...Will the character live or die? What happens in this situation? ... Is a foregone conclusion. Wish these had been presented in the opposite order, with the prequel presented as the first novel. But worth a read.

There are a lot of reviews that mention the strange formatting. The photo shows a set of 6, but there are just 2 books in this set. The first book stops in the middle of the novel, quite abruptly, not even as a cliffhanger. There’s an invitation from the author to write a review, then it moves on to Book 2, which is essentially just the next chapter in the novel. Since this is an e-book I don’t understand why this hasn’t been corrected already! While I don’t really care how many novels are in this set, calling this a super box set is simply *false*. That bothers me quite a bit!
Foul language is sometimes necessary to describe utter frustration. If, however, a book is peppered with foul language, I see this as an inability of the author to use language appropriately. This author otherwise writes well, so there really isn’t any reason to become lazy and keep using f bombs.
The best part of a novel for me is character development. I think the characters are well drawn out and relatable. I could have done without some of the extensive descriptions of torture, and I hate the word snot. There’s a lot of snot in this novel.
I’ve not read the second book yet. I will update my review.

Where is the rest of the story? A girl's parents are taken who knows where then she is snatched. She is on a boat to who knows where, the main character is assigned to help find her. Next sentence the author writes "thank you for reading my story." WHAT???? How does this story end? It doesn't! Far too many mentions and descriptions of ""snot." Disgusting and a recurring theme.
Then you continue to the next story which is the continuation of the first. Weird.

These were fantastic; have wonderful character development and engrossing story lines. My first read of James Hunt’s work but definitely not my last. These thrillers suck you in and are really tough to put down. A couple of things I’d like to mention though:
1) the books are in the WRONG chronological order in this box set. Do yourself a favor and read “Deadly Webs” (the 2nd book) first. This way - you will be reading in the correct chronological order and won’t know the outcome of events in “Deadly Webs.” This is a terrible mistake by the publisher/author here and is why this box set didn’t get 5 stars from me!
2) These could REALLY, REALLY use a good editing. There are times, especially in Deadly Webs, where the poor editing (grammatical or syntax errors, wrong character name used, incorrect spelling, or wrong information) is a blatant distraction from a pivotal moment in the book.
3) They can be a little gory at times. The author handles some tough information and is quite descriptive about it.

Overall, I really enjoyed but really wished I’d read them in the opposite order!

I thought this was a great series. I was sick and in bed all weekend so I literally read all of the books back to back in one sitting. The writing is great, the stories are very compelling and the characters are well written. The content is compelling and kept me interested for hours. My only complaint...if you order the Kindle Box Set, which I did, the series are presented backwards so you are reading the story in the order from last book to first book. This means you literally have spoilers throughout the series. There is no easy way to read backwards on a Kindle so I just had to adapt to going back in time with each new book and already knowing what was going to to happen since there was reference to all of it earlier on. It didn't completely ruin it for me but was kind of a bummer. Not the author's fault though....I blame Kindle for setting it up that way. Because of that I won't ding the rating. I would definitely read more from this author.

Excellent story. My first read off James Hunt and no regrets. I know the byline ous just a work of art by James and he slaved over this book. It also broke my heart even though it's a story outs also carries a lot of weight. This very thing ous happening in our world today. There is a few curse words that are ALWAYS unnecessary if you truly know how to write an excellent piece but he only used them in a dire situation so very impressed with that. If a writer starts out with every other word being a curse word, first of all I'm done, MY OPINION ONLY, if a writer doesn't have enough faith in his ability to write a story without every other word to be a curse word then I will not read the book. James Hunt had faith. Thank you for a great read and 98% without curse words. I will be looking for more of your work.

I was immediately drawn into the story, dynamics of a family on the run, and then into those in charge of the investigation...So disappointed that the story just Fell Off, no resolution, and made me Angry!!
Same review for the second book..I want him to go all out to rescue his best friend. Still and all, great writing overall. Rapt attention from me.

First I couldn't stop reading long enough to leave a review of the first 2 books in this set. Incredible is one of the words to describe how the story began and how it got to this point. Starting from a nightmare to a kidnapping it kept my husband and I both intrigued. The characters of Mock and Grant were developed at a pace that you could feel as if we knew them, the story line led us through twist and turns that made it hard to find a place to take a break. Language was not in the gutter and any reference to sex stopped at kissing. A truly enjoyable read that kept us guessing to the end even after we knew who the bad guys were. Time to move on to the next set. Would recommend this as a great read.

The way the books were laid out in this boxset was terrible. The order souls habe put the 4th book first, then 5th and 6th, then 1, 2, and 3. The stories would have had a much better flow that way, since the first 3 books made a lot of references to the 2nd 3 books. Of out want for threat, I would have given 5 stars. The stories were very good, and kept me reading long into the night. This box set has a multiple book series feel to it, and could easily support several more stories with the characters. I do hope to see more adventures and crime solving from Grant and Mocks.

This boxed set started with the ending, not my favorite way to read a story. Each book was only a section of the total story. The total story went backwards with each book until the reader arrived back at the first book. Again, I prefer my stories from beginning to end, not from end to beginning.

However, the author did an excellent job of building characters. The main characters captivated my interest and had me rooting for them. I would like to read more by this author but it won't be many if all his books are in this serialized form.

The books themselves were great and kept me interested throughout. I'm glad to have only seen this as a boxed set because I would have been highly irritated to have each of them end in cliffhangers. My only HUGE complaint is that the way the books are presented when you open the set on your kindle. First is the Missing Person set of three books which gives away MOST of what happens in Deadly Webs books. The order should be reversed when you read them!

Good story but shame on the store for putting 1st story last. Interesting & well developed characters but you understand more when you've read the last part. Needs a good proofreader to correct crammed & past/present tenses as well as put in missing words. Do not understand authors affinity for using & describing "Snot" far too often as it's pretty disgusting! Overall good read that holds readers interest.

I loved this first story in the book of smart chef super box set: Detective Grant! The action was fast paced and exciting, but omit ended on a cliffhanger of epic proportions! I will only continue to be happy with this writer if the next story in this set continues the first story's consumption of my total interest. Loved all three books in this story, you will too!

Chase Grant and his partner "Mocks" Susan Mullocks work to solve missing children who are in grave danger. Unfortunately Chase is plagued by memories of his wife Ellen and unborn baby Annie. His brilliance in finding the victims is marred by his flashbacks of Ellen and baby. Chase and Mocks have success and a lot of fallout from Chase`s methods.

Though it's a good story line, you should've made sure the books on Kindle were in order! what a mess to try and read. I'm an avid reader of over 50 years and didn't like reading the last book first and trying to figure out WTH his going on. Not enough background on some characters either. They're just thrown in there with a tidbit here and there. Much of it seems about a renegade cop!!

I got to learn about the main characters. Then I got to KNOW the two main characters and then enjoyed learning about their personalities and the friendship and respect they had for search other. The plots of each book were great but it was the players that kept me entertained. Hurry and get moving on the next box set. I so thoroughly enjoyed This!!

I liked the way the author kept the story together without going off in too many directions at one time. He was able to weave the past into the present which gave me an understanding of why he lost his job and what happened to his career. I still don't know what happened with his wife and how do we find out about Anna and her family? Is there more to come?

Great story that leaps from one book and picks up right where you left off in the previous book. Great writing, great story line. Suspenseful. High recommend. Will be watching for more books from this author.

I absolutely loved this collection. Great read, and impossible to put down. I've done very little, other than read since I started it. The characters were very well developed, and the story moved at a great pace. The one detail of this collection that stands out the most for me, is the order the stories were told. VERY unique, and very well done.

Detective Chase Grant begins as fragile and pitiful as a young widower could be, one tossed out of the police force. Yet his investigative insights never left him. His persistence and caring fire him on to superhuman feats. Loyalty makes Snatched a heart-rending thriller.

not even half way through and this is some of the best story telling I've read in a very long time. I laughed, I cried, I got goose bumps and even caught myself talking to the characters and myself as the plot unfolded with its unexpected twists and turns. I've never had a book affect me on so many levels. The efficiency of character development and the natural way you find yourself caring for the main characters within just a few pages speaks volumes to the authors talent. THANK YOU Mr. Hunt, for the gift of this wonderful, fun, intriguing, riveting and even horrifying at moments roller coaster of emotions. This has truly been some of my most enjoyable reading experiences.

This is the first work of James Hunt that I've read. It was filled with excitement from the beginning. Most of the turns in the case of a missing person were completely unexpected. It was the type of mystery that keeps you trying to solve it before he does, but, the ending will be surprising. I recommend you read it.

Two tightly written mysteries, full of turns and twists, with well defined characters, proper evil villains, hapless dupes, and hero's . Read the books in reverse order, snatched happens after webs and reading snatched first takes the edge off.

I am disappointed this set was not boxed chronologically and also most of the book were cliff hangers and did not stand alone. I don't like authors who are so inconsiderate of their readers who expect stand alone books.

I really enjoyed these books, but they should have been in the other order. Read the last set first. Otherwise the first set gives away too much of the last set. Don’t know why they were packaged like that. Other than that, I highly recommend this boxset.

This box set is a good read. The characters are well developed. There is not a lot of effectiveness. That in itself is refreshing. No spoilers here. If you like a good 'who done it' story, give this a try.

The Snatched super boxed series I read by downloading was not in the appropriate sequence; therefore, it was quite confusing to keep track of what happened when. The stories were supposed to be continues and were well written. I particularly enjoyed the main character’s police partner. She is a hoot.

Good stories but could have been made into one book. Some inconsistencies ie: Grant was shot but never treated, names were sometimes confused. I hope the author gets more beta readers to catch these things.

I'm not sure how i feel about reading a book backards but there were other issue that bothered me more. There were far too many misspelled words and the English usage was BAD...dangling participles, incorrect tense, etc. Also when she took her husband watch, you have her putting it on him instead of herself. it was a good story but a little redundant at times. Mostly...you need a better proofreader...one with sharper English usage skills.

This rating would have been higher if the books had been in the sequence that they happened. Reading book 4 & 5 was anticlimactic since how Grant and Mocks get involved in book 1, 2 & 3 was not revealed until AFTER I had read book 4 & 5.
