and Families (The Family Library) - A Book about Eggs

Review:Great book for teaching kids the facts of life. It doesn't shrink away from any topics. The images are really funny and had me laughing while reading the book with my daughter. I would recommend this book and the others in this series. Read more

I Like Bugs (Step-Into-Reading, Step 1)

Review:Fun read for story time and early readers. This book has nice colorful, detailed illustrations and introduces readers to various bugs through facts and pictures. This book is read and enjoyed daily. Now that it is summer, we spend time searching for and identifying some of the bugs in this book while playing in our yard, on walks and at the park.

I would have liked the book better if proper names or identification had been given/listed for the various bugs as well. Ex: Lady bugs are the o... Read more

Happy Birthday, Bad Kitty
Happy Birthday, Bad Kitty

Review:Happy Birthday Bad Kitty written by Nick Bruel is a very funny book about how Bad Kitty's birthday turns out to be just another wild day for her. She did not want to get out of bed to have her birthday party until she finds out there will be cake and presents. But she did not get the presents she wanted or like the cake. My favorite part was when all the cats chased the puppy and hung him up like a pinata because they thought he stole all of Bad Kitty's presents! Bad Kitty and her friends remi... Read more

Nicholas St. North and the Battle of the Nightmare King; E. Aster Bunnymund and the Warrior Eggs at the Earth's Core!; Toothiana

Review:A really excellent adventure story. Extremely well written and illustrated (although there are not many illustrations). We just finished Nicholas St. North and are just starting E. Aster Bunnymund. They are long (approx. 230 pages), but my son was able to follow along, reading a couple chapters a night. I enjoyed this story as much as my son. In fact, I may just read it again on my own. We have also read 'The Man in the Moon' which is also excellent (and much shorter and much more illustra... Read more

I Spy a School Bus: Level 1
I Spy a School Bus: Level 1

Review:The cover is misleading. This book is appropriate for toddlers and preschoolers, but the pictures are not nearly as complicated inside the book as what is on the cover. It is a tool for teaching letters, but not a real "I Spy" in my opinion. Read more
