Traditional Projects Inspired by 19th-Century American Life

Review:What a wonderful book! I appreciate the descriptions of the history around the projects and the professional advise on use of wool. The pictures are very well done and offer details as well as larger pictures of projects. One day I hope to do this level of quality work with my penny rug projects. Inspiring! Read more

from Animal to Spun Yarn - The Fleece & Fiber Sourcebook
from Animal to Spun Yarn - The Fleece & Fiber Sourcebook

Review:This is a beautiful book. The photography, both of the animals and the fiber, is spectacular. The information is so clearly presented, you can almost smell the sheep and feel the lanolin on your fingers. The authors' passion shines through on every page.
As a knitter and spinner, I love that the authors honor the usefulness of the full range of animal fibers, not just those that are "soft", and not just those that are commercially abundant. This book sent me to my computer to search out rare... Read more

National Electrical Code (NEC) - 2014 Edition - NFPA 70

Review:Tables are not laid out well for this format. They are pretty much useless. This is ok as a second copy of the code book, but it is certainly not a replacement, and NOT worth the cost. I wouldn't recommend this. Buy the actual book. Read more

Oogy: The Dog Only a Family Could Love
Oogy: The Dog Only a Family Could Love

Review:This was such a moving and hopeful story, the best part being that it's a TRUE STORY! Larry Levin has shown many of us that ALL dogs are special in their own way, some truly earning the title of "Angel", like Oogy. It's just sad that the ones who did those unspeakable things to Oogy were never caught and brought to justice. I had fully expected to spend much of my time reading this book crying my eyes out, but found instead smiling and feeling good about this great dog's story. If you read ANY b... Read more

A Guide Book of United States Coins 2018 - The Official Red Book
A Guide Book of United States Coins 2018 - The Official Red Book

Review:I have purchased editions of this book before and would have graded out at five stars however this edition (Kindle Version) is missing U.S. mint issues. Primarily in the non-circulated coins, specifically in the $1 American Silver Eagles the years 1996 through 2004 are missing. Additionally the 2012 Infantry Silver Defender of Freedom Set, the 2014 50th Anniversary Kennedy Mint Set, the 2014 4 coin Kennedy Silver Half Set, the 2014 3/4 oz Gold Kennedy Half Dollar, and the 2015 225th U.S. Mar... A Craftsman's Guide to Wood Technology - Understanding Wood
A Craftsman's Guide to Wood Technology - Understanding Wood

Review:Simply put, "Understanding Wood" is the only truly comprehensive, scientific treatment of the properties and behavior of wood, specifically written with the craftsman in mind, by the absolute. As professor of wood technology at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst since 1962, Bruce Hoadley is a (and perhaps THE) leading expert on the science of wood. Presented in a slightly simplified scientific manner, which non-scientist craftsmen can easily understand, Hoadley's book provides almost eve... Read more

WOOD! Identifying and Using Hundreds of Woods Worldwide by Eric Meier (2015-10-10)
WOOD! Identifying and Using Hundreds of Woods Worldwide by Eric Meier (2015-10-10)

Review:Great extension to the poster. I just got this book and already use it a lot. It is easier to identify a wood to use in a project and then go find it then to constantly search the hardwood lumber yards trying to find a a species for a project. I find the book well organized and easy to use as a reference. Read more
