Review:This has been a captivating read. It is written for everyone. It includes helpful suggestions and action steps to take in order to move through the hurts and hang-ups that have led to harmful habits. The illustrations help identify areas that have shaped us but that may have been overlooked. The personal testimonies share hope for those still struggling with a variety of life issues. Thank you, John Baker, for putting this together. Read more
Review:I wrongly thought this book teaches the techniques and ended up fascinated about the many things one is supposed to know before kicking off. Really enjoyed to learn precisely what Buddha discovered which was set apart from the common religious thoughts of his times. Read more
Review:Peter Hitchens does a good job of reviewing his own history of being a Christian, then atheist and back to Christianity. He also reviews the effect that atheism has had on various countries in the world such as Russia, England and the USA. He presents a very interesting contrast to his famous atheist brother, Christopher Hitchens. His book is short and an easy read. Read more
Review:The Legend Of The Monk And The Merchant is a fable and allegory set in 15th and 16th century Italy that seeks to provide an apologetic for the legitimacy of businessmen and a focus on the marketplace within Christianity. It comes with a foreword by Dave Ramsey that hints at the importance of the book within evangelical circles along with a personal and small group study guide that takes up more than a third of the size of this small work (weighing in at a modest 180-odd pages). The book as a who... Read more
Review:The life story of Ravi Zacharias had my attention from the first page. The way God has worked in his life brought me to a new realization of the greatness of God. This book reminds all of us that God only requires a person's submition to His will, and with that nothing is impossible with God! Read more
Review:Mark Batterson continues living the dream with his newest book -- Whisper: How to Hear the Voice of God. If you like his other books, then you will probably like this one. If you do not like his other books, you probably will not like this one either.
The book itself is divided into two sections: (1) the power of a whisper and (2) the seven love languages. The first section is where he spends his time talking about how God does not always use neon signs in the sky but can speak from ... Read more
Review:It's not quite what I was expecting - definitely different than "Illusions" - but it offers some great perspectives. I found the book serendipitously and so was ready and open to what Mr. Bach had to say. Read more
Review:I was introduced to this book in a class provided by the company I work for. The class was entitled "Thinking Outside the Box". This class has been attended by executives and managers at large corporations the world over. I'm sure no one in the class expected the last activity to be reading "Hope for the Flowers" aloud. Although this is a "children's" book, it can be appreciated at many levels. I'm sure children will find it very entertaining and moving. However, the specific message relevant to... Read more
Review:I purchased 10 books with the intention of gifting them but when I received them, I realized I ordered the wrong book. So the lesson learned is to check the total number of pages in the book before purchasing. However, I am very satisfied with Amazon because my money was credited very quickly. Read more
Review:Oh my! I keep reading and re-reading sections and pages and chapters. I have yet to make it to the end (because I don't want it to end ?) and I already know this book will be my friend for years to come. Read more
