National Geographic Kids World Atlas
National Geographic Kids World Atlas

Review:I don't like this book's binding. It's difficult to view the portions of the map closest to the center crease of the book without damaging the book, because the paperback version isn't very durable. I prefer Britannica's Student Atlas. Read more

Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library
Escape from Mr. Lemoncello's Library

Review:I think think this book deserves 5 stars because Chris Grabenstein has meticulously crafted a book full of adventure, fun, and mind boggling puzzles. You will celebrate with the characters when they have success and you will feel sorrow when a character is disqualified; Chris Grabenstein has made a book that brings all people together. Chris Grabenstein has created this book that all people can enjoy if you are a kid like me then you will enjoy the puzzles but if you are a grandparent or parent ... Read more

Review:I bought this book after reading some of the author's recent comics on facebook. I was disappointed as these comics were not as funny and engaging. I am very much looking forward to his next book with more recent material, but I would not purchase this again. Read more

Medicine and What Matters in the End by Atul Gawande
Medicine and What Matters in the End by Atul Gawande

Review:Every human in America, along with every caregiver and doctor and nurse, every nursing home administrator, and every individual who thinks that no matter the state of the individual whose care they are responsible for, should be required to read this book. What we do to our elderly at the end of their lives is obscene and obviously all about the money, not about their dignity, comfort, wants, needs, or anything else. I wouldn't treat my dog the way most of us treat our terminally ill. And we ... Read more

Snowmen at Night (Storytown Library - Story 8)
Snowmen at Night (Storytown Library - Story 8)

Review:Love this book! My 3-year-old granddaughter listened and watched as I read it to her. She then said, "My turn," and read it to me. She made up words and sounds while running her finger under the words, the same way I did it. She copied my gestures and my tone, even showing excitement on certain pages. She gave her stuffed Mickey Mouse a turn to read it, then returned to me and listened to the whole story again. Days later, she read it to her daddy.

I plan to buy Snowmen at Christmas... Read more

Sight Word Practice to Build Strong Readers - 100 Words Kids Need to Read by 1st Grade
Sight Word Practice to Build Strong Readers - 100 Words Kids Need to Read by 1st Grade

Review:We are using this to prevent summer slide. I ask my daughter to do two pages a day and offer a reward (we use a marble jar) for completing additional pages. I also focus more on doing it independently than making sure it is correct. She often does more than two pages voluntarily and the directions/activities are simple enough that she can work independently (for the most part). Read more

Sight Word Practice to Build Strong Readers - 100 Words Kids Need To Read By 2nd Grade

Review:This book is great for the early learner. My Daughter has Down syndrome and she loves something that has bright colors. This book keeps her interest and she is practicing her words everyday. I purchased this book and 100 words Kids need to know by 1st grade, at the same time. They are thin books, not too much detail, but I like that on the back cover and the inside cover, they printed the entire 100 word list. Read more
