Diseases & Physical Ailments
Review:I have been following the Wahl's Paleo Protocol for almost a year. This book is everything I hoped for and more. I am absolutely thrilled by how it is organized. I would definitely suggest reading her first book before doing anything. This protocol takes a huge commitment, but if you have been plagued with serious life threatening disease and live a life of pain and degeneration - commitment is easy when the protocol works. And this works. Better than any medication or chemo I have been on (SLE,... Read more
Review:I got this book back in December, started following the diet very strictly, was also seeing a neurologist who started me on a preventative medication. The first week of no caffeine and no pain pills was horrible, but I went from taking triptans and/or excedrin multiple days a week to now less than twice a month. I still get headaches, but they are much more manageable with OTC medication, and triptans only as a last resort. I wish there was a newer version of the book- the recipes in the back ar... Read more
Review:Needed more help on what is available to the person in financial aid, subsidized living, mental health programs, free medications, disability, etc.... and how he can apply for these things on his own. He lives in another state. Read more
Review:Rebecca Katz has outdone herself this time! The Healthy Mind is full of pages of recipes, including soups, desserts, main dishes and snacks that are accessible, doable, and delicious. (Not at all like the many cookbooks on my shelves that I turn to for one or two recipes.) All you need is a piece of salmon or cod and a bunch of kale, or some carrots. Being them home, pull out the book and you are set to go. No planning ahead required as the other ingredients are already in the pantry. Did I m... Read more
Review:Everyone needs to read this book. I learned a lot, being at the age this disease strikes. I use coconut oil on a regular basis & have not misplaced my keys in months. Memory has improved too. A must read in my opinion by young people that care about their parents.

Review:The book was extremely short and not nearly enough information on brain training and brain games. A lot of the information given granite is good is all common knowledge things. It is just kind of a reminder of what you can do to sharpen your senses and brain train your memory and thought process. I didn't really enjoy this book. It was a boring read and didn't even finish the whole thing. I don't recommend it personally but I am sure there maybe some people out there that like it. I did not. I t... Read more
Review:This is very well written. What I particularly like is that he did not eliminate details of just how this disease ravages relationships--including sex. His honesty is admirable.
I don't see how anyone could ever fault him for seeking a new companion--even though Jan is still alive. He has done everything he can and it is obvious that he still loves and respects the person she was--even though her personality has changed drastically. Read more
Review:Hope Heals is a painfully, beautifully written story. I immediately noticed and experienced the intimate relationship both couples had with Jesus as the chapters were identified by their names. This book touched me in the most intimate ways, as I am a Christian mother or 3 kids...but life is unpredictable and full of blessed surprises when one 'suffers' physically. This book only challenged me to have faith and hope for the unseen. I will pray that this book and ministry touches many lives for C... Read more
Review:I studied this book thoroughly, and attended one of the 6-day immersion clinics described in the book. I suffer from chronic pelvic pain caused by pudendal neuralgia and interstitial cystitis, and Dr. Wise assured me that the clinic would help my IC along with my chronic pelvic pain. I was so hopeful I gave my all to the process, practicing paradoxical relaxation throughout the day, working with a trained physical therapist as described in the book, and faithfully following the relaxation protoc... Review:As a primal and paleo disciple, gut health has always been one of those things on my radar that I would get to "one day".
I picked up this book from a friend's recommendation and was really pleased with what I found. This seems likely a very nice flexible approach to allow people to eat the foods they enjoy most yet heal their various gut issues. It does not try to pretend to be a paleo book, it is strictly a gut health book and it is a great book on the subject.
The author clear... Read more
