Review:I read this as an unabridged audiobook. Not having read "The Red Tent" I had nothing to compare "Good Harbor" to (for good or bad). Overall I all enjoyed listening to this in the morning but I wasn't nearly as emotional as I'd expected it to be which is good, I guess, because I expected it to ruin my makeup. On the downside, this is a book I won't remember come next week . . .
It was a nice, gentle tale about the distance that can develop between couples that often goes unnoticed but i... Read more
Review:After reading Susanna Kearsly's books, Amazon recommended this book and like other people I read the description and loved it. After reading a few chapters that were only a few pages long and two characters that I didn't know anything about I had to give up. I am not a writer but I think I had more depth, description and feeling in the novels I wrote in high school than this book. DON'T BUY IT! At least download the free sample first and decide if you want to keep reading. Thankfully.....it only... Read more
Review:Interesting to look back and to realize that the love she was looking for was always just a breath away. She thought that the stranger was the answer to her feelings until her sister made a life changing mistake. Read more
Review:I loved the first Bridget Jones, it was so funny, and I seem to recall liking the movie, too. However, this second book falls far short. I read it mainly because I've owned it for years, and wanted a light, funny read. It was definitely light, but lacked genuine humor. It rarely made me chuckle. Bridget just gets kind of annoying, since it seems she can never do anything right and cannot assert herself. And the constant misunderstandings between herself and Mark Darcy got annoying. Just c... Review:I enjoyed reading Slave Graves by Thomas Hollyday very much. It was most suspenseful - very difficult to put down. If you are interested in archaeological digs (and even if you're not) this will give you a good sense of what its like and keep you on the edge of your seat. The characters are engrossing - you'll love some and intensely dislike others. This is a fun read. Read more
Review:Catfish Cove sounds like a nice place to live. And I did like the basic story. Aunt's cafe burns down so her niece comes back to help her rebuild the business at the same time try to mend fences with the people she hurt when she up and left two years before without a word.
While I did like the story I felt like I have no clue who the main character is. In fact I had to go back to find out her name. The other characters I can name and even describe their personalities. Not Annie Fishe... Read more
Review:What a wonderful read. Murder mixed with making face jugs in clay! A delight and an authentic experience with clay, pottery, the enthusiastic collectors of this folk art, and the potters of North Carolina. Read more
Review:I really enjoyed the conversational style of this book. Friendships grow as things become crazy in the harbor town. Lots of characters to choose from before the murderer is revealed. Definitely for fans of cozy mysteries! Read more
Review:I love the Donna Leon series with Inspector Brunetti. I thought I was ordering a new one of that series, but as I started to read I realized I had made a mistake. It doesn't seem to matter though, because I am enjoying it. Read more
Review:I really enjoyed this book, mainly because of the two stong starring characters, Brie and Lincoln. Each person was believable and acted like a genuine person would in a similar stepsibling attraction. I got the sense readng their story that they could rise above it all and give in to their hidden need to cmplete what had begun long ago. It was a sweet, sexy book. Read more
