Women's Fiction
Review:This felt like a "based on true events" novel. It was survival, love and forgiveness. It covered life experiences that most of us have had or will confront in our lifetime.
I liked this book very much, very fast read because it's well written! I highly recommend "we never asked for wings." Read more
Review:Seeing the same timeline from three different perspectives was a great way to truly understand the characters and where they were coming from. They all had their flaws, and you wanted to yell at them multiple times throughout the book ("what are you doing/thinking/saying??"), but it was their depth and your overall empathy for them that makes this such a fast, and ultimately enjoyable, read. Review:Yes, SMK deserves the accolaides she is recieving for this work - at times it's so premeditatedly lovely it's distracting. She has proved she can put a sentance together. Has weird, colorful characters down. What would have been compelling and courageous however, would have been to see her main character fight the inexplicable draw to the monk - and do the right thing by remaining faithful to her vows she made to her husband. Those scenes where she tells Hugh are heartbreaking - for Hugh! I want... Read more
Review:Though parts of the story are frightening this love story leaves you with bated breath as you turn the pages and stay up way too latte to read another chapter. Gut wrest aching excitement and a message of faith in hometown. People. Read more
Review:I really enjoyed reading about the Maribel sisters in the Dominican Republic. I led the book discussion for my monthly book club on this book so I had to do a little research for it after I finished reading it which made me appreciate it even more. It was fun learning a little about the history of the Dominican Republic. I recommend to anyone who loves historical fiction. Read more
Review:4.5 Suspenseful Stars
I’m a HUGE fan of Jennifer L. Armentrout. She usually writes NA and YA reads. I was really surprised to have received this one. I haven’t read a suspenseful book in a while and I forgot how much I love this genre.
The book is 100% mysterious and will keep you intrigue and guessing until the very end.

Review:I enjoyed the book, humour and stubbornness in spades but I kept getting whiplash with both character's in the I form. I would have to repeatedly stop to backtrack and figure if the "I" was talking about the him or her and it continually disrupted the flow.
As this was the first book I've read in this series it was hard at times to understand the backstory but that was easier than all the "I" sentences for both character's.
I'll check the samples close to see if other books are written t... Read more
Review:There are certain authors that become your go too because you know they will suck you in and keep you interested throughout the story. Krista Lakes is that author for me. I loved this story! Bonnie & Dylan meet in an unlikely way but are instantly connected. They just click. You can feel their passion towards each other coming from the pages. And cute little Tyson just completes this book. The suspense kept me intrigued but the connection between these two kept me turning the pages late into... Read more
Review:Was really excited about book. Was disappointed. Places in story that were peaking fell flat with the story telling. Either author needs to be more uninhibited or lacks ability to express her passion. I would be willing to give her writing another change only because I love her as an actress. Read more
Review:I do not normally order this style of fictional book. I downloaded it because it was on sale. This story actually made me very emotional. I felt the pain and loss of the characters. Very well written. Read more
