Career Counseling: A Holistic Approach
Career Counseling: A Holistic Approach

Review:I ordered this book for a master class.
As English is my second language I was a bit confused if I was having trouble to understanding it since I find the book difficult and confused to understand. Well, after reading the reviews at least I can say it is no me. I have to read it because my class, otherwise I would not read. Read more

Boy Meets Girl: Say Hello to Courtship
Boy Meets Girl: Say Hello to Courtship

Review:Just like dating, courtship can be bent to human desire. However, with God, we are shown through Joshua that waiting is right. Not because it is wrong to want to meet someone, it is wrong to rush into relationships. The point is to put more trust in the Lord Jesus Christ, that He will show us a father that has always loved us. And I just read a few pages. :-) Read more

A Teen's Guide to T.H.I.N.K. B.I.G. - You Have a Brain
A Teen's Guide to T.H.I.N.K. B.I.G. - You Have a Brain

Review:This is not only a book that shows the phenomenal upbringing of Dr. Carson and opens his life to view, it is encouraging to all ages, kids, preteens, teens and adults male and female. I saw many things in this book that paralell my own mothering of my children, and see that it is also a beacon and an example to all mothers.
Well I just mailed this book to my 27 year old son, plus also A More Perfect Union. I sent him a cell phone picture of the books. He asked to read them. (that alway... Read more

Lots of Knock-Knock Jokes for Kids
Lots of Knock-Knock Jokes for Kids

Review:“Lots of Knock-Knock Jokes for Kids” was sent to me by Zonderkidz – a division of Zondervan Publishing – free of charge, in exchange for my honest opinion and review of it.
“Lots of Knock-Knock Jokes for Kids” was written by Whee Winn. It is filled with hundreds of cute knock-knock jokes and even some bonus riddles. Kids love to tell jokes like these, and therefore, I would recommend this book for little ones…I’m thinking my grandson (7 years old) will love it. Read more

Raising Globally Minded Kids One Book at a Time - Give Your Child the World
Raising Globally Minded Kids One Book at a Time - Give Your Child the World

Review:Poor quality, printed newsprint paper.
A big portion of the book is a mini-autobiography in which she talks about how she acquired her children. It's the same story she tells over and over and over again, in her other book and on her blog and in every single interview I've read. It does use up a lot of pages though.

The actual book list (which really is just a book list w/o summaries) is quite mediocre. I bought it thinking there would at least be some gems, nope, just wasted $7. There... Read more

Awakening the Inner Reader in Every Child - The Book Whisperer

Clean Living in a Contaminated World - Soul Detox Participant's Guide

Review:Pastor Groeschel is a talented writer. He uses anecdotes that blend humor and human drama to illustrate the many experiences that contaminate our souls. I have been challenged to restore my relationship with Christ with my eyes open to the obstacles I have allowed to come between us. Read more

The Ben Carson Story (ZonderKidz Biography) - Gifted Hands
The Ben Carson Story (ZonderKidz Biography) - Gifted Hands

Review:I am currently reading it to my fifth graders. This is the second time I have read this book to my students;the first being my then fourth graders. Each time, the class was enthralled with the book. We need MORE books like this, with realistic story lines and applicable messages that children can apply and get life lessons and inspiration from. I feel the current crop of trendy books are pushing more and more "empty calorie" books on children. Great book! I am ordering several copies for our s... Read more

The Unpredictable Impact of the Inescapable Jesus
The Unpredictable Impact of the Inescapable Jesus

Review:John Ortberg writes well. This was an interesting book. I purchased it for a Bible study.
I didn't not get far in the book and did not stay in this particular study. This book attempts to give you the feeling that Jesus was a *man* and did things like we do while he was here. It totally and completely says that Jesus is GOD who came to us as man. It does stick to the Christian doctrine completely. But John wants you to feel Jesus as being a human, like we are, to understand that we can ... Read more

How Schools Around the World Are Inspiring Greatness
How Schools Around the World Are Inspiring Greatness

Review:This second edition exceeded my expectation! Just another contribution as to why Dr. Steven R. Covey deserves to considered one of the best educators and leadership authors. Just brilliant to fuse the highly acclaimed "7 Habits" concept to K-12 education that result in outstanding learning outcomes!
