Pete the Cat: Play Ball! (My First I Can Read)

Review:My great (?) nephew , my sister's grandson, loved the books and I loved the delivery time. Perfect as usual via Amazon. FYI my future son in law orders everything on Amazon; even paper towels. It is a wacky world but ya'll make it happen. :) Read more

Pete the Cat: Snow Daze (My First I Can Read)

Review:Wonderful, says Alex. He really liked it. Too much time required to respond.

Six more words is stupid and we'd rather be reading another book than adding words to get you to allow me to submit my review.

Pete the Cat's Train Trip (My First I Can Read)
Pete the Cat's Train Trip (My First I Can Read)

Review:My English language learners love Pete the Cat. This is a nice story for emerging early readers, as the illustrations help children to understand any new vocabulary that they don't know. In this book, Pete explores a train and tells his story about travelling to see his grandma. My ESL students really latched on to and understood the concept and had great discussions after they read it. Great little learning tool. Fun illustrations! Read more

Books 1-4 (Marked / Betrayed / Chosen / Untamed) - House of Night

Review:My 18 year old daughter LOVES the series. Bought them asw a Christmas give along with one other book and she finished them last night. Has been reading non-stop since Christmas and mind you she does not like to read. She says the books are funny and entertaining. Some content may be somewhat offensive to some people. Hummm...wondering why books do not have a rating like movies/TV etc. Just a thought! Read more

An Epic Fantasy Novel (The Black Witch Chronicles)
An Epic Fantasy Novel (The Black Witch Chronicles)

Review:Don't believe the negative hype. This book is fierce in its lessons and understanding of racism and prejudice. It narrates the growth and philosophical insight of a privileged youth as she learns that peace, compassion, and understanding are much more important than power and privilege. Read more

Dark Queen (Jane Yellowrock)
Dark Queen (Jane Yellowrock)

Review:Twelfth in the Jane Yellowrock urban fantasy series and revolving around a Cherokee skinwalker who used to hunt vampires and now works for one in New Orleans.

My Take
Wow. Wow, wow, wow. We get a LOT of background on Jane's family history! Ayatas' presence is triggering memories for Jane: the names her father called her, when he taught her to use an axe, his fishing, and always the flashbacks on her first kills at age five. We get more on Leo's past as well. The "reason" he and his bro... Read more

On the Prowl (Alpha and Omega)
On the Prowl (Alpha and Omega)

Review:I actually read Cry Wolf before I read this book, and even though it was out of order it seemed as if Patricia Briggs outdid herself just as amazingly in this story even more so than in the second Alpha and Omega story. However, the other three short stories that were included in this book didn't hold my interest as much as the first, except for Inhuman. The plotlines managed to stay unique and separate from each other, and the characters were just wonderfully intriguing. It's a very good read; ... Read more

Review:This book is a great illustration of how God pursues us. We can choose to run into His arms or to follow the deceiver. Once we have accepted His love, we are expected to show others the way into His arms. Read more
