Review:I modified some of the activities for an Internal Family Systems group I hold at an alternative high school. The purpose of the exercises is to help the group participants understand where their exiles (or triggers) come from. The activites were very effective and the teenaged participants opened up about family and social influences that have manifest themselves into adverse protectors. I recommend this book to anyone who is serious about personality development and developing a healthy sens... Read more
Review:So far this workbook has helped me figure somee things out about myself. My therapist recommended I buy it and it is an organized way of thinking about what stresses you out. The only reason I give it a 4 star is because I think it is meant for younger teens (I am 18) as opposed to late teens. I feel like the actual lessons are a bit elementary, things I already know or can do an easier way. That also may just be me.
Overall I recommend getting this book because even if you know your prob... Read more
Review:I was surprised to find that you still need equipment. I am disappointed to see that. There is good information here if, you are new to HIIT. But if your not new, you may be disappointed to find this information is already out there in several books and all over the web. It's just another re-package of the information. Read more
Review:This book gave me insight, but also confirmed a few things I suspected to be true. I recommend it for everyone who is questioning their relationship or about to start one or any other relationship status. Read more
Review:Dr. Farmer is one of those amazing individuals who have faith that mountains can be moved, one rock at a time. Because of his tireless ambition to cure the poor, he has really made a difference. (He and others like him who share his determined passion.) His story will no doubt bring you up short; as a fellow reader indicated when we met to discuss the book, what have we done with our lives? Especially because Dr. Farmer has an attitude of "No excuses, just do it" when it comes to helping the... Read more
Review:This book really helped me to understand how my body works and how I can get healthy to lose weight (not lose weight to get healthy, as Dr. Berg likes to say!). Dr. Berg has a really knack for clearly and simply explaining the science behind fat burning and how hormones affect the overall function of your body. The book is easy to use and understand, and the principles aren't hard to follow. I really recommend it for anyone who is looking to feel better and get their body working efficiently. Read more
Review:Its sad that Llewellyn still publishes this trash. SRW is as problematic as they come, mishmashing barely-cited, practically-plagiarized work with rumors, misinformation, and her own dogma (which is as harmful and exclusionary as any conventional religion's BS). She lifts content from other authors as well as faiths and cultures, and puts it all under the label of witchcraft. Or is it Wicca? Oh. Right. She doesnt know the difference.
Please don't buy this book. Do yourself a favor and pic... Read more
Review:This is not only a book that shows the phenomenal upbringing of Dr. Carson and opens his life to view, it is encouraging to all ages, kids, preteens, teens and adults male and female. I saw many things in this book that paralell my own mothering of my children, and see that it is also a beacon and an example to all mothers.
Well I just mailed this book to my 27 year old son, plus also A More Perfect Union. I sent him a cell phone picture of the books. He asked to read them. (that alway... Read more
Review:I found myself skipping over the dialogue because it was so ridiculous. Cringe worthy flirting....just...yuck. The dialogue ruined the book for me. There was no buildup that showed Clay and Cami as friends so I never got their relationship. He seemed creepy right from the beginning. And Cami was incredibly naive. I felt like smacking her upside the head a few times. Read more
Review:Very disappointed. I thought this would be a kid friendly version of the original and it's not. It's incredibly boring and full of useless info. If you want a book to help motivate your teen to be a successful adult, I recommend skipping this and going directly to 7 Habits of Highly Effective Pople. Read more
