Review:Found this book to be very good reading, you learn things about America in the early 1800's that make you wonder why you've never heard of this stuff before. Some of it based on Lewis and Clarks notes from their journey, there is also some history from the various Spanish explorers that toured Florida and what was to become America, plus some on the mounds and mound builders found in various parts of America. I read the book twice, it was that good plus there is a lot to digest if you like histo... Read more
Review:The entire book seemed like a printed "infomercial" for training workshops. Telling you not quite enough of the serious material, and an overabundance of the fluff. There is a fixation/mandate for drums, and rattles when such things are in reality not necessary.
You will get some historical insight into some cultural shamanic practices, and this alone justifies reading the book.
If you're looking for SERIOUS information on trance, journeying, and other things uniquely shamanic; thi... Read more
Review:This book was very powerful. Kudos to Rebecca Missed for having the strength and courage to escape and fight the FLDS. I shall forever be changed. We need to be aware of the insidious crimes that are going on around our sheltered lives. We are all children of God and deserve the respect, that stems from that truth and honor. Read more
Review:Having never heard of the cult Children of God, I found this book to be absolutely heart breaking at times. The lives these children lived were absolutely miserable. Although these girls suffered from dire circumstances, the end of the story offers a valuable lesson on religion and family. Great book! Read more
Review:As the title states, "wherein is explained everything worth knowing about anything." The goddess is within your forehead and your pineal gland wreaks havok on all that shall oppose it. You are Pope. You fnord are Religion itself... We are all Eris's vicars on fnord Earth. Go ye and read this Tome of higher thinking... all is for not.
You will not go from gourder to gourdee, you will go from goiter to fnord goatee.
There is no god before the goddess, it is part of the word itself. Read more
Review:Disappointed in this Dead Dodo Vintage edition. No table on contents available from the sidebar. Only the cover. Thus either a lot of bookmarking or a straight through read. Formatting is fine. Better to get the SMK Books edition (2015). Read more
Review:It is hard to do justice to this spiritual adventure story. Words seem totally inadequate.
That we have depleted and vandalized the Earth's resources in over a few decennia is a well known fact, as we grapple with issues like greenhouse gases and global warming. However, there are other facets of our lovely planet that we haven't yet been made aware of, at a global level. The 'Serpent of Light' is one such. Simply put, it is the Spirit of the Earth. Legend has it that it moves every 13,00... Read more
Review:This book radically changed the way I relate to God. Since 1991, when I first came across this book, it had such a deep impact on my devotions and taught me how easy it is to practice God's presence. This book taught me how to love God and express this love to God in ways I have never known before. I highly recommend this book to anyone who would like to grow closer in their walk with God. This simple yet profound book will prod you toward God's presence in a loving, joyful and practical manner. Read more
Review:The Captured Bride
Michelle Griep is an author I have not read before. I will look for others from this talented writer, she has a way of making words “sing.” This story is historical fiction at its best. The characters captured my attention right away. They were richly painted in technicolor right from the first paragraph. The leading role is Mercy, a female scout in the French and Indian war in 1759.
“Praise always prickled, for it usually meant she’d be asked for more than she was wil... Read more
