Review:This book is beautifully illustrated and the recipes require just a few and normally basic ingredients which is a huge + in my book! I've already tried making a few of the recipes and they have been delicious so far. I love the creative cold salad options. Definitely perfect to make and bring to a summer picnic! Read more
Review:The whole planet is getting fat, each cow uses over 2000 gallons of water, cows and chickens produce a huge amount of methane and global warming, and animal fats cause heart attacks (read the story about Norway in WW2). I'm curious: Is there ANY benefit to eating a high calorie, non-plant based diet?
If you can't just do it, this book makes it doable. Read more
Review:I LOVE this cookbook. Incredibly healthy, super easy! I am learning to make my most favorite food on the planet...Ethiopian. I am a yogi and have been making Kitchari for years. Review:One of my go to cookbooks. I have yet to find a recipe we don’t like. There are a few that challenge my love of lazy cooking, but that is found in every book. I would buy this again, and have recommended it to others. Read more
Review:I listen to the podcast, so I had pre-ordered the book. It has some really great information about plant based diets, especially for athletes. I haven't tried the recipes yet but I'm sure that I will. They are pretty straight forward, not too many crazy ingredients. The thing that bugs me is the "no oil" option. I know that it's not just a No Meat Athlete thing, but I view it as extremely extreme. They don't preach it, but they include options. So I guess I can shut up and do the version o... Read more
Review:Dr. McDougall makes a case for complex carbs as an essential to a healthy diet. He has been consistent in his approach and as many have come and gone his work remains. It is a true path to healthy eating. "The Starch Solution" is Dr. McDougall's signature work. It brings together decades of research and personal experimentation. Read more

Review:I love this cookbook! Every recipe has a notation of whether it is free of soy, dairy, etc. and some recipes go a step further and give easy substitutes to alter a recipe to eliminate some of this dietary restrictions. Cooking for someone with a dairy allergy, this book has made it so easy for me. Read more
Review:I’ve cooked nearly every recipe in this book and nearly all of them are perfection. Great meals worth not so hard to find ingredients. I do cut back on the mount of oil used on each recipe but that’s no biggie to me. I find the intro and notations for each recipe quite useful. If you are vegan or just trying to get into this lifestyle slowly this book is a must. Hope you like it as much as we do. Read more
