The Miss Nelson Collection
The Miss Nelson Collection

Review:My husband and I loved these books growing up, and it's really nice to share them with our 3.5 year old. This collection is a lovely volume, with full-sized pictures. My preschooler really likes good stories with a real plot, and its funny watching him try to figure out just who Miss Viola Swamp is. It's really nice that the plot is a little vague -- it gives my son something to try to figure out. He pulls this off the shelf and asks for it often! Read more

The Classic Guide to the Mental Side of Peak Performance
The Classic Guide to the Mental Side of Peak Performance

Review:I was extremely frustrated after losing all of my games in a tournament and was at the point of thinking that perhaps I just wasn't good enough - what made the agony worse is that I knew I was good enough but somehow it just didn't show at all during the tournament. This book made me realize that the problem is not with my skills but in the way that I think. I felt like the first section of the book read my mind - the conversations in my head, the judgments I made about my skills, etc. Later on,... Read more

and Thrive - The Champion's Mind - How Great Athletes Think

Review:Fantastic book. The first chapter was a bit slow, but once it began rolling it never stopped. If you have read developmental books like this in the past, you'll find no new concepts, but you will find a great delivery and awesome messages. This book is mixed with powerful steps to achieve any goal with first hand stories told by the athletes who achieved them. Parents, coaches, athletes, non-athletes.... Anyone can benefit from reading this book. Read more

Unstoppable
Unstoppable

Review:I like this book Unstoppable because The book is short and has a lot of cliffhangers a little bit of a summary of the book is a boy named harrison who plays football gets bone cancer and has to overcome a lot of challenges.
One reason for my opinion is on chapter 40 the ending has a cliffhanger In the book where the main character named Harrison and at the end of the chapter You wanted to talk to his dad whose nickname is coach “coach I want to talk with you”.Another reason for my opinion i... Read more

The Greatest Submarine Rescue in History - The Terrible Hours
The Greatest Submarine Rescue in History - The Terrible Hours

Review:Maas provided a riveting read and a naval history lesson. Swede Momsen was truly a hero. The book is a tribute to his character and dedication to his work. The difficulty of raising Squalus while solving technical problems and performing scientific research critical to your mission at the same is so daunting that most men would have thought it impossible at the outset. Even today the task would be a near impossibility. I agree with other reviewers that illustrations and/or diagrams of t... Read more

A Novel of Golf and the Game of Life - The Legend of Bagger Vance
A Novel of Golf and the Game of Life - The Legend of Bagger Vance

Review:The book begins modern day with an old doctor reminiscing about a great golf tournament that happened years ago in depression era Savannah, Georgia. Pressfield does wonders to set up the town and it many machinations. He creates a wonderful fictitious golf course and gives it a great deal of personality. You're just dying to play there.
The old narrator was then a 10-year-old caddy assistant in that game for Rannulph Junah, the lesser known of three competitors. The other two were t... Read more

Review:Many concepts that hit home on how golfers think themselves into bad golf. I particularly liked the summary at the end - rules of how to think and how not to think on the course. A bit too long on personal history. Read more

114 Days Through 38 Cities in 15 Countries - Not Afraid of the Fall

Review:I won this book as a goodreads giveaway. I really love the cover of the book and it's very fitting to the story. The dedication is so sweet, and will probably stand out in my mind forever. That just brings tears to your eyes every time you read it. The story is inspiring. I would love to quit my job and travel. As exciting as that is there's a lot of unknowns which can be scary. Something I did while reading was googled images of the locations Kyle and Ash visited. Great writing to describe each... Read more
