A Medieval Romance (Swordcross Knights Book 1) - Honor & Roses
A Medieval Romance (Swordcross Knights Book 1) - Honor & Roses

Review:In the category of ‘judge a book by its cover’, I have to say, the cover of Honor & Roses is beautiful. With no actual face revealed, the image of the heroine, Lady Cecily, looking over a garden gate toward, not a garden, but an entire countryside, one gets and idea of the honor of the Lady and that she takes her responsibilities to heart. Very nice.

I enjoyed this story of intrigue and romance in medieval times set against the English civil war between would be rulers Stephen and Mau... Read more

A Highland Guard Novel (The Highland Guard Book 1)
A Highland Guard Novel (The Highland Guard Book 1)

Review:What a great beginning to the Highland Guard novels! The historical background was fascinating, and the concept of a Highland Guard fits seamlessly into the turbulent times. I have read it twice now, and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. Ms McCarty does a fine job developing the relationships among the Guard members and between the H and H. Fun, intriguing, and highly recommended! Read more

Her Baseborn Bridegroom (Vawdrey Brothers Book 1)
Her Baseborn Bridegroom (Vawdrey Brothers Book 1)

Review:Definitely enjoyed the story. Loved that the heroine was nice but strong -- loved that the hero was strong but briefly sweet. Laughed out loud (which got some strange looks from people at lunch). Finished in one day and going back to read again. Definitely recommend -- anyone who likes Julie Harwood will enjoy this book. A Beauty and the Beast Retelling (The Otherworld Book 1)
A Beauty and the Beast Retelling (The Otherworld Book 1)

Review:Faeries, plus Celtic lore, plus a loosely based beauty and the beast retelling...consider me obsessed! The Heart of the Fae was a beautifully written, magical and inventive story. I absolutely adored every part of this story!

This novel is set in Ui Neill, which is medieval Northern Ireland. Being Irish myself, I love reading books that take place in Ireland. Emma’s world building and description made me feel like I was back in Ireland. And don’t get me started about the magic of Hy-Brasi... Read more

For Love of the Duke (The Heart of a Duke Series Book 1)

Review:I love Christi writing. This was a lovely historical romance, about finding love and helping someone find himself after a loss of someone he loved. Intentions of the Earl (Scandalous Sisters Book 1)
Intentions of the Earl (Scandalous Sisters Book 1)

Review:I enjoyed reading the adventures of Brooke and Andrew and her two sisters. There always has to be a "Gateway" thrown into the mess to keep things interesting. Lord Gateway was a real piece of work, and made for an exciting addition to the story. Read more

Someone to Wed (A Westcott Novel)
Someone to Wed (A Westcott Novel)

Review:Once again Balog h takes on a difficult subject and develops it in the context of historic romance. Although she doesn't go into child abuse as deeply as she does ptsd and survival guilt in the Survivor series, it it still makes for a fascinating story. Read more

A Historical Regency Romance Book - A Damsel for the Mysterious Duke
A Historical Regency Romance Book - A Damsel for the Mysterious Duke

Review:I enjoyed this book. Although a bit dragging at times with needless descriptions of events. The plot keep me reading to see the results of all characters searching for the truth for the Duke's past. I did rather enjoy the outcome. I do read all that this author has written. Not one of my favorites by her.
I was given this book free for an honest review. Read more
