Review:Although the plot was interesting, so many facts didn't add up. Why was Larken a destitute orphan when her parents were well to do. Someone should have been an advocate for her. Brandon was unbelievably rude and changes quickly. I guess the writing lacked depth. The author used a word that was not even a word until the 1960's in England. Review:Not enough premise for a relationship- the groom's best friend chases after his fiance to try to get her back to the wedding. And of course, along the way, both parties start having more romantic feeling towards each other ( no surprise there). Review:I enjoyed this book so much that I finished in one sitting. None of the normal romance ridiculousness of each of the lovers lying to one another about their true feelings. They were honest and strait forward with one another the whole time. And the storyline was great. I laughed and cried and I was terrified all in the same book! Review:I got as far as chapter 12 and just couldn't go on.

The hero is a judgemental jerk. Henry had great looks and a title but no woman with an ounce of self respect would have given him a second chance. He blames the heroine for his lack of self control, and the stupid girl sets herself up for his abuse over and over.
