A Spell for Chameleon (Xanth, Book 1)
A Spell for Chameleon (Xanth, Book 1)

Review:I have read many a Xanth book and the trick is DO NOT TAKE IT TO SERIOUSLY! Xanth book are fun. The puns are helarious and i would recommend this book to anyone that doesn't mind a few(try a million) cheesy jokes. Now i have heard some say that Mr. Anthony doesn't really portray women in a good light but like i said above, don't take the books to seriously. It all fun, and as far as i'm concerned thats what books are for; entertainment. If your not entertained then what is the point?

An Epic Dragon Fantasy (Dragon Born Trilogy Book 1)
An Epic Dragon Fantasy (Dragon Born Trilogy Book 1)

Review:There was a decent premise that wasn't fleshed out well. Rowen doesn't have a set personality, she fluctuates between brave and skittish, machiavellian and simple, smart and air headed. The dialogue is juvenile, even when delivered by an adult character and there are issues with words missing or misused. The world building needs work as well, but after an editor spends some time with it, it could be a decent story. Read more

Maximum Ride: Angel
Maximum Ride: Angel

Review:I am a fan of the series. Honestly, I thought it was a very good read, although frustrating between Dylan and Fang. I love Fang, but this book kind of makes you like Dylan a little too. However, the wait for the last book is much too long! JP ends "Angel" with a massive cliffhanger! And we have to wait a flippin' YEAR to find out what happens! Other than unresolved issues and a frustrating romantic plot, this book was a pretty good one. Not the best of the series, but it definitely holds your at... Read more

The Seer And The Sword
The Seer And The Sword

Review:This book is one of the best, no the best book I have ever read. The characters are perfect in every way Hanley develops them. this book was the only book (chapter book that is) that I have read in one sitting. I can't believe how perfect this book is! The romance was just enough without getting sappy or leaving the reader dissapointed. Vesputo is the best kind of villain: The truly evil and powerhungry kind. I admired every word or thing that Landen did, and Torina is the best princess characte... Read more

Elemental Magic & Epic Fantasy Adventure (The Rise of the Fifth Order Book 1)
Elemental Magic & Epic Fantasy Adventure (The Rise of the Fifth Order Book 1)

Review:This is a wonderful and very engaging fantasy novel. Autumn is clever with descriptions and her characters, this is one of those rare stories where the events are easily rendered in the mind's eye. She has a fertile and ingenious imagination that will make you jealous you didn't write this first. I expect many more great things from this author and am looking forward very much to the sequel. The Girl from Everywhere
The Girl from Everywhere

Review:What a fun read! The Girl from Everywhere takes its readers on an exploration of history. Both real history and fantastical history in the form of maps. If someone believed it was real and made a map, Captain Slate could travel there on his ship.

But Captain Slate is on a mission . . . to find a map that can take him to Hawaii, circa 1864 when his wife was still alive. Trouble is, his daughter, Nixie, is certain this will erase her existence.

I loved this book. I loved the historic... Read more

Among the Hidden (Shadow Children Book 1)
Among the Hidden (Shadow Children Book 1)

Review:Anyone who has spent time around middle grade books, whether library or book fairs, has probably seen Haddix books. Margaret Peterson Haddix is a prolific author of MG fiction. Among the Hidden is the first book of hers I have read. I selected it particularly because of its premise: due to severe overpopulation, the government has passed laws that allow couples to have only two children. Disobedience is punished by death. Luke is a third child, a shadow child. He can't go outside, have friends, ... Read more

La Belle Sauvage (Book of Dust - Volume 1) - The Book of Dust
La Belle Sauvage (Book of Dust - Volume 1) - The Book of Dust

Review:The ending of the "His Dark Materials" trilogy leaves the reader craving for more of the story. This new book does not disappoint.

"La Belle Sauvage" tells the tale of how Lyra came to Jordan College at Oxford, and how a certain important object came into the hands of her caretakers there. Yet, the story is only incidentally about Lyra as an infant, focusing on those whose purpose is to keep her safe and deliver her to sanctuary, and those others who try to prevent that outcome. Pullman's... Read more
