Review:Very informative book. However, I lost too much weight on paleo, so I certainly could not go as far as doing AIP that she suggests which is an even stricter diet. I am trying now to eat balanced Mediterranean diet with more fruits and veggies and get better sleep . . . Hope that works. It is a very informative book though. Read more

Review:The first few chapters were interesting but after a while it became apparent that this was a 350-page book that was stretched to 700 pages by means of jargon, lack of focus, and way too much detail. I can understand that many people who work in this field might give it 5 stars. But for everyone else, it is definitely not a five star book and was not worthy of all the praise it received by certain book reviews, such as Kirkus. I remember reading an interview with a writer who said it was hard to ... Read more
Review:Many of us who read reports of GRIN technologies consider them simply the latest advances in science and technology; a little unusual, maybe, but potentially beneficial and worth pursuing. This book, however, is a definite eye-opener for anyone with an understanding of humanity’s compulsion to be like God – beginning in the Garden of Eden – the great flood and its cause, and the continuing war between the two spiritual kingdoms climaxing in the last days. The authors lead us to solid conclusions... Read more
Review:Without a doubt, this book was an amazing surprise. Deborah Blum has taken a potentially dry topic, the evolution of forensic medicine, by treating each of ten poisons as individual characters in the story of how the City of New York came to recognize the importance of medical evidence in business of criminal prosecution. Review:Originally I read this from my local library but was so impressed that I ordered it for my permanent book collection from Amazon. Some fascinating and innovative treatments for brain injury. I am keeping this for future reference in case anyone of my family or friends (God forbid) should need a second opinion in the event of a TBI. Written in a way easy for laymen to understand, but not in any way condescending. Highly recommended. Read more
Review:I really enjoyed this book, it was very enlightening. I have always found the different shades of red hair rather lovely, I myself do not have red hair (although I have dyed my hair red once or twice) so growing up I never noticed that there was any stigma associated with red hair. I was floored to read that women in the Tudor period would use white lead to get that pale skin look, how horrifying it must have been for them to suffer the effects of its use. I would definitely recommend this boo... Read more
Review:First, here's my obligatory disclosure. I was only able to make it through 3/4 of the book before I gave up. There were two reasons for that. First, the author's concept of the meme as a 'worldview' idea is a little too narrow. A meme is ANY idea. A melody, a phone number, a concept- not just a 'worldview.' Bloom gives the false impression that all memes are to blame. Nope- just the hateful ones!
Second, there's only a certain amount of repitition I can tolerate. The author not only keeps m... Read more

Review:Because of all the hype surrounding this book I hesitated a long while before finally deciding to read it. Well, I can now say that I was pleasantly surprised. It is a remarkable book that must be appreciated on its own merits, despite the grave prejudices it may have caused to some individuals. Many people were deeply offended when they read how they, or others, had been portrayed by Watson. In fact very few were willing to endorse his personal views. Including his closest collaborators. It has... Read more
