Review:Catfish Cove sounds like a nice place to live. And I did like the basic story. Aunt's cafe burns down so her niece comes back to help her rebuild the business at the same time try to mend fences with the people she hurt when she up and left two years before without a word.
While I did like the story I felt like I have no clue who the main character is. In fact I had to go back to find out her name. The other characters I can name and even describe their personalities. Not Annie Fishe... Read more
Review:Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book from the author, but the opinions expressed in this review are my own.
"I was promised a dance," and thus begins one of the subplots of this wonderful book - the second book in the Book Retreat Mystery series. Jane Steward is the mistress of Storyton Hall and guardian of its repository of secret, obscure library of books. The story opens with a bang, with Jane being taught moves worthy of 007 to assist her in protecting the library of rare a... Read more

Review:Firstly, I should state up front that I am, unabashedly, a huge fan of Ellery Adams. I love her books and believe this is her best. It seems to me that fans of cozy mysteries are more invested in the characters who reside in the books and their environs. The mystery itself is almost incidental. Lethal Letters follows Olivia Limoges and the Bay Book Writers on a new adventure into crime detection. I never discuss plot in my reviews as so many give away too much. Often the murderer is apparen... Read more
Review:I have absolutely loved the Books by the Bay Series. Olivia is so different from characters common to other series, so complex, and I love how she grew over the course of the first seven books. I was excited to read the last installment.
Although I am truly sorry that the publisher didn't renew the series, loyal readers should not have to suffer because of that. The book seems written with less care and attention to detail than all of the earlier ones, and some plot holes distracted me. B... Read more
Review:I've really enjoyed all the books in this series, lots of intrigue and a good back story. I liked this one especially because of all the history. So few of us know anything about this area and bein able to share all the history of the area made it so much better. Read more
Review:Good plot but characters not all that believable. I am talking particularly about Olivia. How she could be fortunate enough to be so incredibly rich is somewhat astounding. Plus she is as cold as ice. Can't believe that a writers' club could form around her. Well, maybe it's because she IS rich and puts out nice food and drinks whenever they meet. Read more
