Review:I was hoping for a more recent story of Al (post-end of Hollows series), and this was a pre-quel. It was interesting, and more about Newt than Al. I always enjoy Harrison's stories, and this was OK, just not her strongest one. Read more
Review:I picked up a book, and was immediately back where I grew up at: Wyoming. Mr. Johnson has it down. Lakes, Rivers, Counties, Highway Patrol, Cheyenne, Rawlins, abutting states, where everything is relative to each other in the state... And, it's a great Mystery / Detective Book at that. Read more
Review:This is an excellent source for finding free or better paid services than Kindle Unlimited (KU). The author gives you the name and description of some of the other free e-book apps, and some apps that cost similar to KU but have better selections of best selling books, that really make me feel foolish for spending $120 a year for KU. Review:This is an interesting short story about a lighthouse minder in space. One thing I especially liked about it was its connection to the real world — even though the story takes place hundreds of years in the future, it is still Earth-based and the character works for NASA, communicates with Houston, and monitors the Milky Way. Review:Having just finished Wool 1-5 plus six and seven, I THOUGHT that Howey was going to be my new favorite author, until I started Nameless here. I am only on page 42 and already, in the space of three paragraphs, someone AT LEAST whose editors should know better, has violated one of the simplest grammatical rules. It is one that probably millions of even educated people make, but it drives me nuts. Example: "They would also be keeping an eye on Hanson and I." Even though this is a common enough... Read more
Review:Short but compelling story about the first moments of digital self-awareness. As always Hugh Howey does not disappoint except in the fact that the story ends far too soon. Perhaps there will be more.....? Read more
Review:Murder Game is the best of the Ghostwalkers series so far. Too much sex? Uh, no :) The story line was tighter and more compelling than its predecessors and old characters come out to play. No dull pages to skip, no lag in the action and no unnecessary angst among the characters. Great hero & heroine- she's tough without being brassy and screachy. Loved it. It is worth the price and worth the read. Read more
Review:I enjoyed reading this entertaining and original Hamish Macbeth story but wished it were not so short. (It is less than thirty pages.)
I don’t mind the editing flaws the others mention since this is not really the author’s fault but the editor’s. When an author writes so many books, especially so many different series, it is human to confuse the characters or names sometimes and I am just grateful someone so creative takes the time and the effort to keep writing for the readers’ enjoyment. Review:It is all about loving and being loved and taking care of a living creature. I wouldn't trade any of my animals through all the years, from my duck with the black spot on his head to my sweet Jack today. Life is measured in the lives we touch. :=) Read more
Review:This tale that took one of the characters form Marko Kloos first book and give them their own tale is interesting. I liked the detail surrounding the training and some of the later operations.
However, while the story was fun to read, it was nothing special I'd call it fun for lovers of military sci-fi, but that's about it. It's too short to really have much bite. Read more
