Review:Loved readong this book! Couldnt put it down. Crazy plot, adventure, danger, adult themes... definately not for kids. Would read this again, but there is a sequal I need to read! Totally going to see if I can read that in a day, after some sleep. Read more
Review:Slow-starting, as others have said, but the writing drew me in, which was a good thing, because much of the background detail was not provided until deep into the story. Indeed, some rather crucial details did not appear until near the end.
Shevek's twin worlds are not appealing: his native planet is as socially stratified as any communist state and just as poor, while his ancestral planet is a gender-segregated hidebound capitalism that quells mass protest with helicopter gunships.
Review:Enjoyed this very much, partly because I am a quilter, but more than that.I was intrigued by the story line, the ending was a bit surprising
Would have ended it differently, however it did not detract from the story. Read more
Review:Really enjoyed this book . He tells a lot about himself and the people he met through his years of acting. Some he liked and some he didn't like.
It was fun to read about his love life with Dinah, Sally, Loni , his family. If you like Burt you will truly enjoy his story. Read more
Review:OK, I was not expecting to experience these convictions while reading Brendon's latest book: change your plans, level up, focus, raise your necessity; cancel your trip! What! I really want to attend Growth Summit, coming up in a few days. All my plans are made, flight, hotel, farm help to cover for me- I'm excited to get there...then BAM! I got to page 126 and began to read High Performance Habit #3 with the opening quote "Only one who devotes himself to a cause with his whole strength and soul ... Read more
Review:Super cute beach read. I love Lauren Layne's writing style and laughed out loud several times during this book (possibly because I hate kale, lol). Noah's language and crassness made me cringe and there was nothing earth shattering about the plot, but on the whole it was an enjoyable read. Read more
Review:While the premise is interesting, the characters have zero depth--what you see is what you get. Stilted conversations, with too little description. Sex thrown in just for the hell of it, not to add to the storyline. Trust me, don't bother. Read more
Review:This story is about a stubborn sheik who is going to lose his position if he doesn't marry an American woman within 30 days. His opponent doesn't want him to and kidnaps her. Needless to say she is found at the end and marries her sheik, whom she had been planning her wedding all along unbeknownst to her. Read more
Review:Great start to a new series. WOW, absolutely adored Hetch and Liberty. While the subject matter hits close to home, Hetch was well written w/the drama, suspense and humor. I especially loved the dual POV. This is a definitely mus read for everyone. Oh and who must forget Arabella, can't wait to see her in Payton's book! Read more
Review:This book was not nearly as good as Claiming Grace. There was way too much sex and not enough content. It was like the story was too short and sex was used as a filler. Hope number 3 is better. Really like Claiming Grace. Read more
