Review:A great little satire filled with wit, sarcasm and ultimately distress. Candide lives a life of artificial optimism which ultimately turns to distress, rejection of religion and a decision to "cultivate one's garden". Candide Finds an idyllic place called El Dorado and leaves there a very wealthy man only to slide to near poverty. A delightful and thoughtful novel well worth the small investment of time. Read more
Review:The book was easy reading. The plot made you think about a time in our world that wasn't so good. This should remind us that it should never happen again. Somehow I thought it would end differently. Read more
Review:This writer changed literature. From his writings, Journey and Death on Credit are ABSOLUTE REQUIREMENTS for the canon that is contemporary literature. Without Celine, we would have no basis on which to rest Kerouac, we would be missing, dare I say, Kurt Vonnegut as we know him. This writer influenced them all. You can not help but hate him in his manifest destiny of dismal sadness. Nothing is good enough for him, he is cynical, sees life as ultimately humiliating. He does have moments of joy. M... Review:The plot wasn't particularly attention grabbing; however, the stories that are spun by Kolya's father are fantastic. I also like the feel you get of the Russian culture in each of Dostoevsky's books, and this book is no exception. I found it interesting that Dostoevsky suffered from epilepsy, just like the Prince. The idea that "those kind" are particularly loved by God is a relief in an age where "those kind" are avoided like the plague. Overall, it is the least favorite of the three novels... Read more
Review:This was my first reading of Dostoyevsky and having finished it, I cannot wait to read more of this brilliant author.
What I like most about this book is the shocking realism. The author hides nothing, and reveals the weaknesses of his main character shamelessly. The 'antihero' in this story is the most pathetic character I have ever encountered. I truly felt sorry for him. This story basically tells the tale of a man wholey consumed and overwhelmed by the basic decisions required in the ... Read more
Review:What a crazy ride with this one, lol. I laughed, cried, almost cursed a couple of times, all in all really good.
I liked Lydia and Vaughn together, I think they balanced each other out really well. Truthfully I wanted to kick Vaughns behind a couple of time, but he got it together, lol. I enjoyed the supporting cast, really good Read more

Review:Deep focuses on Stage Dive bass player Ben and Anne's (of the Mal & Anne from Play) sister Liz.
They have a connection right away but things get in the way. And a surprise. A BIG surprise.
This book really had me hooked. Ben. Ben - at times I wanted to strangle him or slap him a bit to say "wake up dummy! You have a good thing here with Liz!!!"
I actually am disappointed that it's done. I want more of not only this couple but all the couple's we have come to love. Read more
Review:Another incredible addition to this series. Way to go Kylie-- you ROCK!
Amazing characters, riveting storyline. The witty and clever dialogue, the emotional banter back-and-forth between the characters was just phenomenal. I was drawn in and held captive til the end. I have truly fallen in love with this series and would be hard pressed if forced to name my favorite. Each couple has been funny, sincere, compassionate, and captured my heart. Although they have so much in common, they... Read more
