Review:A book should be a single story. I'm in chapter 10, and so far, there is no one story. We've got a bunch of disparate stories about several different people. I'm sure there's something to tie them together later, or I hope so, but this is a frustrating read. I don't particularly care about the personal lives of these characters since they don't intersect except for the fact that they are all Human Garde. Further, they aren't doing much of any significance yet. It's pretty boring. Frustrating rea... Read more
Review:I was looking for something a little different from the typical dystopian fiction I've been reading lately, and this was it. It's a great change to read something that leans towards science fiction but has a plot and characters that I can really enjoy and follow. I'm anxiously awaiting the second book!! Read more
Review:Don't believe the negative hype. This book is fierce in its lessons and understanding of racism and prejudice. It narrates the growth and philosophical insight of a privileged youth as she learns that peace, compassion, and understanding are much more important than power and privilege. Read more
Review:This book failed to impress. Maybe something is lost in translation. Characters bored me. Plot was predictable. Overall snorefest. I only gave it a two because it did manage to keep me from having to talk to the guy next to me on the plane. Read more
Review:This book was wonderful. The only thing bad about it, is the fact that it is a novella, thus shorter than a normal book! I have already read it twice, and I'm on my second reading of Dorothy Must Die. I cannot wait until the next publication comes out! I haven't waited for books like this since the Harry Potter series. The title of Jennifer Estep's young adult urban fantasy Touch of Frost is very literal, considering the main character's power. Whenever Gwen Frost touches a person or an item meaningful to a person, she gets "flashes;" images and feelings of that person, whether the person was angry, scared, happy, or in love. I hope Kiss of Frost (sequel to be released in December) will be just as literal; that is, Gwen better be sharing the love.
Gwen Frost is the new student at Mytho... Read more
Review:Jennifer Esteep has become one of my favourite authors. This series is an amazing tale of good verses bad with mythological twist that involves many religions and cultures as well as their Gods. Percy Jackson would have a run for his Money when faced with Gwen Frost and her friends. The series ended on a beautiful note with me feeling relaxed and fulfilled with the knowledge of the characters current and future situations and she also left the story open to more books in the future. I would not... Read more

Review:Once again I enjoyed myself thoroughly in the world that Jennifer Estep has build. With all the references to mythological creatures, all the myths that she has integrated in the story and the "history" that Jennifer Estep created it was a great place to be. There was only one thing that put a damper on my bliss: Gwen and the way she acted. What happened to the sensible girl I met in the first book? That girl who knew that sometimes you just can't do things alone, so it's wise to call for back-u... Read more

Quick & Dirty: A wonderful fourth book that introduces new elements to make the story even more thrilling than it set out to be.
Opening Sentence: "I have a confession to make."
The Review:
When I was asked to read Jennifer Estep's fourth book in the Mythos Academy, Crimson Frost, I was excited. I have heard great things about the series. So what did I do? I went back from book one and started at the beginning. I wanted to kno... Read more
