Edgedancer: From the Stormlight Archive
Edgedancer: From the Stormlight Archive

Review:This is my fourth audiobook and I absolutely love it! The narrator is perfect, even though I sped up the reading by 1.25x. I was leery about listening to a Sanderson novel. I reread his work for clues, hints, and to get names correctly, but I never felt the need to run to the book and check anything. Ths audiobook was perfect for my long trip to visit family and I honestly might listen to it again. Read more

Tree of Ages (The Tree of Ages Series Book 1)
Tree of Ages (The Tree of Ages Series Book 1)

Review:I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this book and I’m happy it is not really the end as it is part of a series.

This is a fantasy with an idea or two I’ve not come across before. And the characters pull you in and surprise you. They even sometimes surprise themselves. Happy reading! Read more

The Wolf of the North: Wolf of the North Book 1
The Wolf of the North: Wolf of the North Book 1

Review:A lot of kindle unlimited books are good, but far fewer are great. This one was spectacular. If you like coming of age in feudal times soaked with honor, duty, and love then this is right up your alley. Read more

A LitRPG Saga (Chaos Seeds Book 2) - The Land
A LitRPG Saga (Chaos Seeds Book 2) - The Land

Review:This book is very well written and very interesting. The plot moves along at a great pace so you are never bored. While I have read several fantasy books before, I am not a gamer but reading a book that reads like a game is interesting. I wasn't sure I would like it but it is great. Looking forward to the next one. Read more

The Shadow of What Was Lost (The Licanius Trilogy)
The Shadow of What Was Lost (The Licanius Trilogy)

Review:This has all the elements of a good book. The one crucial flaw it is missing is character development. There is very little explanations or motivation behind any of the character's actions; it's almost as if they are doing what they do simply because...that's just what they do. Without the character development, everything is just a constant blur without context. Read more

Frostborn Omnibus One
Frostborn Omnibus One

Review:I wish I could rate these books 5 stars. The story warranted that rating. The characters were richly developed and memorable . After reading the omnibus collection of the first group of Frostborn novels, I would love to continue the Frostborn journey, but dread of plowing through the pitfalls of poor editing deters me. At some points, every page had one or more issues. Wrong word usage and reoccurrences of the same phrasing being repeated two or three times within a page or so were so i... Read more

The Republic of Thieves (Gentleman Bastards - Book 3)
The Republic of Thieves (Gentleman Bastards - Book 3)

Review:Locke and Jean are back. This time in politics and they are still up to no good.

Scott Lynch continues to write good books with a good build up and good character development. He's back to using the flashback chapters that gives the reader more indepth understanding to the complex relationship between the bastard. Read more

Rogues
Rogues

Review:Don't hate on this please. But while I absolutely love the GOT books' storylines, characters, and scenes, which Gorge R.R. Martin so expertly and economically sets up, it's continually difficult for me to wade through the style of prose he's chosen to tell the tale. It just breaches the hokey line, in addition to the highbrow mark, a bit too often for my taste. But of course I read on. This world he's created is just too intriguing to stop. One just has to know what happens next. Read more

Unfettered
Unfettered

Review:I generally do not like short stories, but had to read Unfettered as it contained some of my favorite writers. In general the stories were quite good, thought there were a couple that I had to skip as I could just not get through them. If your a fantasy fan this is worth a read as it shows you a different side of the authors. I discovered one or two new writers that I will be purchasing. Read more
