Review:Well done, Anne. This book captures the real Russia that is often not described in the news media. Anne made a wise choice to get well off the beaten path in Russia to research her story subject and characters. My takeaway: Russians are not all that different from Americans. They want improvements in their lives as we do but their existence has been shaped by their unstable and corrupt politics. Anne describes it with personal experience, emotion, and expertise.

Review:This book is for anyone who considers himself a conservative (and if you have a problem with the pronoun i just used that just proves you are NOT one). But I warn you, it is tough medicine. And much like that Ipecac syrup often featured in cartoons back when cartoons where violent and racist and awesome, many conservatives are going to retch and reject this.
They shouldn't. I loved William F Buckley and followed National Review Online all through my early 30's. Spent hours and hours (when I s... Read more
Review:Reading Freeman's well written and interesting book will give you a great background and a deep historical understanding of how Christianity came to dominate the Western world for a thousand years, what that has cost in terms of intellectual degradation, and how, if the peoples of the West are to better their condition in the new century they must regain the intellectual confidence so characteristic of Greek civilization. This is a really good book. Read more
Review:Based on volume of squealing, Ann Coulter hit the sensitive point with liberals and other socialists. Ann should be commended for her courage. She personifies what is great about this country - willingness and ability of an individual to tell unpleasant truth to a powerful enemy.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading the book and can fully recommend it to anyone who cares about freedom and western culture.

Review:What a wonderful book! I appreciate the descriptions of the history around the projects and the professional advise on use of wool. The pictures are very well done and offer details as well as larger pictures of projects. One day I hope to do this level of quality work with my penny rug projects. Inspiring! Read more

Review:The wonderful graphics of this volume do make it entertaining and informative. But note that this is an episodic book, with about 150 historical events, all getting exactly a two-page visual treatment. This cookie-cutter approach can make the events appear to have the same significance, and also there is no connection made between them. Thus "The Napoleonic Wars" follows "The French Revolution" two-pager, treating them as separate occurrences, which they by no means are. To really understand ... Read more
Review:For those wishing to understand the psychological affect slavery had on the African American, this is a must read. A great start at understanding the art of deception used in the control of not only slaves but of a people. Read more
Review:Very informative. It's sad when the truth is hidden. Why the secrets? What would happen if the truth were known? Could it be that history could and should be rewritten? Tell one tale and you just have to keep telling them. WOW Were these men less for being men of color. This is why COLOR should never matter. We should look at the inward person and not judge what a person is covered with. Are people of color less? I think the unnamed president should have been named. Let's get it all out ... Read more
Review:Based on the brief description that I read and the few sample pictures that I saw, I assumed this was primarily a photographic book featuring fun pictures of President Obama with children. And yes, while there are a lot of those -- and yes, they are fun and charming and very well photographed -- there is a whole lot more beauty and power and substance to this book, which I would easily recommend to children and their parents.
"Dream Big Dreams" is an inspirational book that offers some ba... Read more
